I visited on 5/3/25 and was impressed by the great customer service from the lady at the front--she was very kind and welcoming, which I really appreciated. I ordered the Mongolian Chicken lunch special, which came with fried rice and an egg roll. Unfortunately, the Mongolian Chicken just wasn't for me. I wasn't a fan of the flavor or the texture of the chicken, and I didn't care for the large onions. The fried rice was okay, but the real highlight of the meal was the egg roll--it was delicious and definitely the best part of my order. The lady up front was also nice enough to give me an extra white sauce without charging, even though it normally costs about 50-75 cents. I know the white sauce looked a little off--I thought the same thing at first--but it actually wasn't bad tasting at all. It added a nice extra flavor to the meal. While I probably won't return because the entrée didn't suit my taste, the excellent customer service made the experience worthwhile. read more

Will not be coming back. My fiance and I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, lomain with shrimp, wontons, and an egg roll. The egg roll was probably the only thing that was good. The chicken in the sweet and sour chicken was crunchy and extremely hard to chew. The shrimp in the lomain was rubbery and disgusting. And the wontons were nasty. Didn't taste anything like a wonton. Made me and my fiance sick to our stomachs. Would not recommend to anyone! Overpriced and disgusting food. read more

Food is always Top Notch. I have been coming here for about 25 years and the food hasn't changed which is good because it's been great for all that time. I have a couple go to meals but my favorite is the Sesame Chicken. The owner recognized me when I didn't come for about 5 years since I moved to the other side of Charlotte but now I'm back and enjoying more than I ever have. I'd like to start off with how amazing the customer service was! The woman at the front was so sweet when placing my order and my food was made fresh. Also I appreciated the price. Only $10 for a dinner portion which is typically much more than that at other restaurants. I ordered the sesame chicken with rice & an eggroll & I can say the best part for me was the rice & egg roll. I wasn't a fan of the chicken at all. Straightforward and good food, lovely plants on display, calm and inspiring artwork, and exquisitely friendly service. Their Lo Mein is exceptionally flavorful, and well worth the upgrade price in a combination plate. The pan-fried dumplings are *addictive,* and their Scallion Chicken is wonderful, with nicely-proportioned servings of chicken, lovely fresh onions, and a flavorful sauce. This is one of my go to flavorful and cheap Chinese food pickup spots. The mom and pop restaurant, where there are always customers in line or waiting for their order to complete. Even in the late hours, the lady in the front has a pleasant smile and always greets the customer. The food is flavorful and always hot and fresh. There is one bad thing about this place and it is not the fault of the restaurant owners but the owner of the property. The fan system is not able to vent fast enough and the smell of compound cooked food does linger. This place has been here for a long time and it shows in the wear of the chairs and tables. It is not a bad thing since their inside dining is still closed. However, I would still highly recommend them for quick and flavorful Chinese food that is affordable. read more

Hidden spot but great for a quick bite. I called to order over the phone. Chicken and shrimp with broccoli, shrimp with mixed vegetables and crab Rangoon. The meals both came with fried rice and choice of spring roll or egg roll. I went with the spring roll. The crab Rangoon looked different than what I'm used to so I threw it away before tasting. It could have been fine but I'm a visual person. The rest of the food was great, seasoned great, tasty sauce and the fried rice didn't dry out when I reheated it the next day. I'd definitely return for the basics but not sure if I'd venture too far. That could change. I recommend for a quick, cheap, tasty meal. The service was also very nice. This place has been around since I was born and I fondly remember being taken here about every 2 weeks from the time I was an infant until I was about 11 or 12. Though, after Ballantyne cropped up around my house, bringing some new Chinese places with it, we stopped going here unfortunately. Well, after 20 years I decided to come back and the food is just as good as I remember. My favorite is the Honey Chicken and Crab Rangoon. Normally with chinese take-out I avoid fried chicken dishes since they never taste good once you reheat them. But how they cook it here makes it taste just as good even after being reheated in the microwave. The menu has changed a bit from what I remember and the old owner is no longer there unfortunately, but the people that work there now are still super friendly and inviting. It's a small place, but I think that adds a bit to its charm. Some reviewers have said this place has changed for the worse, but in my eyes that simply isn't true at all. Any time I want to treat myself to some REALLY good american style chinese food, this is the place I want to go to, even if it is slightly out of the way for me. read more

The lady at the register was very pleasant and I could tell she wanted to make sure I ordered. Originally I wanted the lunch special but it ended at 3pm and it was now 430pm. Luckily she said she would give it to me anyway bc it was my first time there. I ordered the sesame bean curd (fried tofu) combo with a spring roll and fried rice. Came up to less than $8. Let me start out by saying that many of the reviews here are unfair. I live very close to this take out Chinese restaurant and have used them many times over the years. It is true that they were better before the change in ownership but they are still pretty decent. This place like many Chinese restaurants does some things better than others. For instance, their pork fried rice is better than almost any place in Charlotte. In general, their stir fry dishes are quite good. The portions are good, the dishes have plenty of meat and the vegetables are always fresh. As I said, they don't do everything well so I would stay away from the Crab Rangoon and Lo Mein (I am not a fan of that dish anyway). Their soups are just OK so they will do if that is what you really want - just don't expect anything special. The staff is always friendly and they will modify dishes if you request it. read more

Terrible. I am used to eating Chinese food like New York where you get that "authentic" taste, so I am really annoyed by how hard it is to find a decent Chinese restaurant in Charlotte. I hate when I go somewhere and the fried rice is nasty! This rice didn't look fried at all, was a weird color, and didn't have any vegetables, egg, nothing. Every time I go by this place it is empty. You would have more customers if you took more pride in the quality of your food. The fried rice was disgusting and mediocre. HORRIBLE. I had this very bland chinese food August 6 2015. WILL NEVER RETURN!! We ordered the Honey Chicken and Curry chicken dinner combos. The fried rice was not fried rice, just steamed rice with soy sauce in it, it had a very funky smell and taste to it. The honey chicken was bland and greasy. The curry chicken did not taste like curry at all, again, just bland. The springroll and eggroll was old and bland. However, the veggies in the curry chicken were crunchy and tasted very fresh, the only positive thing about the food. Some of the reviews here are ridiculously harsh. They have standard Chinese fair which is pretty decent. The vegetables are always fresh and they never overcook them. Some things that they do really well are pork fried rice or any fried rice for that matter.They also do Kon-Po Chicken well. This is the ONLY chinese restaurant I like in Charlotte. The food is fresh and good. The price is very reasonable too. They have two kinds of menus. One for more americalized chinese food and one is the authentic one. U can find all the yummy food on the authentic menu. Beef noodle, chicken feet, pig hog... My favorite is the beef noodle and the pig feet. I Specifically asked for NO MEAT of any kind. Even made inquires about the sauces and if they had chicken broth, etc. When I got home we found our rice had little bits of beef in it. I agree that the other reviews are overly harsh. I have been going to Quick Wok for over 10 years and have gotten to know Jen and her family. She recognizes me by voice when I call and remembers my order. It is always done within 15 minutes. It has always been fresh with tender chicken and steamed rice. I selected 1 star, because I was forced to....No rating for this slop they serve, need to be shut down, when it comes to delivery orders, had stop patronizing them years ago and received a menu in the door and thought maybe I would give them another try, HORRIBLE COSTLY Mistake on my part to the tune of $27.00 for three dinner combinations of Broccoli, chicken and shrimp (all rice looked horrible and taste just as bad) chicken looked like it had been out all day and the two extra small shrimp I found was horrible, they loaded up on the broccoli though, Sesame chicken (normally a dependable item to order, can't messed that up too bad) these are harder than rocks, and the beef and broccoli, Shameful looking mess, Horrible, now I have to find an entire replacement meals. Call the restaurant back the only thing they said was, "Sorry and I will remember your order and discount you $5.00 the next time...."
