Decent buffet as far as they go! Quite a bit to offer for vegetarians and pescatarians. Clean, helpful and happy staff, pleasant welcoming. They have sushi, and hibachi to make great use of. Their vegetable low Mein, and coconut shrimp is very tasty. They also offer desserts including fruit. Could be the time I went, which was close to closing time, however, I did not see a variety in any cakes. This is a good place to go to if you're craving Chinese, in a relaxed, stuff your face, not looking for anything special kind of way. You know what I'm talking about. It doesn't mean we don't value our stomach's, it just means sometimes eat whatever the hell we want to eat! Overall, will be returning if I'm ever craving the buffet scene again. I've been here numerous times,the food is always hot and fresh!! The Sushi bar is always stocked and the chefs will prepare you a roll of your liking if you wish.... The hibachi bar is also a good choice if the buffet side is not what you want. This is one of the only places you can take 50 people spur of the moment and the staff doesn't freak out, they gladly find a party room and get you seated! I find it funny that most of the bad reviews I read have come from people from other states, makes me wonder if they actually dined here or are they just keyboard warriors!!!! read more

I rarely go to places with only 3 stars. I do not agree with the bad reviews of this place. It's buffet food. It's not high end made to order Chinese food. It is buffet food, albeit pretty tasty buffet food. I tried as many different items as I could but there were just too many things to chose from. Everything that I did try was good. We came with a large group. We didnt wait to be seated and they were quick with drink orders. They have everything from a salad bar to sushi, a hibachi and a soup station. They have plenty of seating, although the chairs a booths are closer to the ground. We enjoyed the food which was fresh around 6pm and than again at 7pm. The staff were friendly and frequented the table to fill drinks. The only issue for me was taking my drink cup with the dirty dishes for a refill. I have a nut allergy and someone ate them at my table so I had to get a new cup. Everything is labelled and they mark items that contain peanuts. The bathroom is away from the dining area. There was nothing bad about the place. The staff was quick to turn the empty tables and clean them. The whole meal cost about $25 but was more after the tip. Lots of options, budget friendly and located near some hotels. Noticed it wwas easy for road warriors to park here as well. Lots of handicap parking. The place is great for groups and families as well. We noticed people tend to spend about an hour in the place. Did I mention they have dessert bar AND ice cream! We were glad to find another inexpe sive and filling buffet in Greensboro, NC. We most certainly will be back for several more meals. We might even bring the kids next time. read more

I can't be the only person that goes to any chinese buffet and loves it while its happening, and then always regrets it after the fact, can I? Well, if you're going to do it, I recommend this buffet in particular. The staff is attentive, the restaurant is clean, and the food, considering the genre, is pretty darn good. The real value at this place is the sushi and hibachi in the very back of the buffet area, where you can customize a stir fry dish with a variety of meats, veggies, and noodles and get it cooked fresh for you on a smoking hot hibachi. You can customize to your tastes with a variety of sauces and heat levels as well. Next to that is the sushi bar, which typically has about 20 varieties of sushi, including some very fresh nigiri cuts. read more

I'm torn about this place. I visited last week while staying next door at the Microtel Hotel. There was really really good about it, and really really bad about it. First Off: It smelled like a nursing home or nursery - urine, wet diapers, and rancid grease. I should've turned around and walked out, but it was hot, I was tired, and I figured how bad could it be... It looked clean but smelled bad like mold, urine, dust. It needs a seriously DEEP cleaning and some ozone machines. I'm not an OCD clean freak, but when a place SMELLS this bad, it affects my dining experience. Oranges and some fruit on the fruit bar was way past ripe and should have been tossed, I mean the skin on the oranges was MOLDY and wrinkled, the orange obviously approaching rotten. The honeydew melon looked okay and tasted good, but nothing else on the fruit bar looked fresh. 90% of the pans of food were only 1/4 full. They either hadn't changed them out from lunch, or were waiting on the dinner crowd to show up, but the stuff drying in the pans was NOT appetizing. The sushi was okay, looked better than it tasted. Anything fried was OBVIOUSLY fried in rancid grease that should have been changed weeks ago. Nasty. Nasty. But, the other items NOT fried were actually quite good. That's why I'm torn. They COULD be, may have once been a great place, but pushing the life of food this hard tells me they're struggling and won't be around long. They're cutting corners to stay afloat I think. Staff was okay, but nothing extraordinary. The waitress I had was friendly, smiled, kept my drinks filled and I left her a $3 tip on a $10 food bill. The other staff mostly hung back in the waitress station and chatted, rolled their eyes at customers and didn't engage. It was almost empty when I went in around 4 p.m. but by the time I was leaving it was filling up - obviously a favorite place for locals. The place is HUGE. They must, I figured, be doing something right as they pack the place on Friday's at least. The orange sherbet was the best sherbet I've ever tasted - left me longing for more all week. The few items I did have - other than the three fried items I tried, were really quite good. Ice Cream/Sherbet was good/my waitress was good. Maybe going at a different time would have been better. If you have a choice, choose someplace else. read more

Nice and clean atmosphere. Got there around noon and my only complaint is the food temperatures were a little low. The egg rolls were tough as if they were leftovers or perhaps sat under the warming lamps too long. The taste of the food though was good. They have several things to choose from at their buffet. I have visited this buffet multiple times and enjoyed it. They provide so many options. Tonight was just the worse experience one could have . They were not busy at 6:30pm. They did not supply fresh food. The sesame chicken was dried up, there were only 4 old egg rolls the entire time we were there, the crab rangoons were actually cold, the sweet and sour sauce was hotter than the fried shrimp and chicken... Our receipt specifically said 'pay at table' which means that they implied we were gonna dine and ditch. My usual eatings at buffets require us to pay at the desk. After we were done the waitress slowly cleaned our table in hopes that we would tip her. I ONLY TIP GOOD WAITRESSES/WAITERS! She waited and asked "no tip?". Why did I even pull into the parking lot! Let's start with the good stuff - it's nice inside, clean looking and well decorated. The lighting though is a little too dim. The overall feeling is like a family oriented cafeteria and that's fine and all, but the food is the problem! Let's talk about the temp of the buffet....not even hot ( except soup ) - everything was luke warm laced with a bland taste that you're just settling for because of hunger. The Crab Rangoon was not even loaded with filling, it was a light spread...the vegetable Lo Mein was the worst ever so much oil that my lips looked like I just put on lip gloss from the 80s! Way too much pork, way too much fish and the hostess and waitresses had no personality. I was even concerned about drinking the water...I'll never go back - way too many other choices in town. The place itself could def use a major cleanup but the food area seems to be clean and well kept. The sushi is the highlight for me. It always looks fresh and they're always putting out fresh rolls. On top of that the chef will make you any role you want fresh. The hibachi is a great option for something more personalized to your flavor preferences. This is a Chinese buffet done right: dozens of food options (the "mile long buffet," as they call it), a clean and attractive restaurant, and efficient table service. Banish your idea of a greasy, dingy Chinese restaurant: China Buffet is newly renovated, clean, and brightly lit. The buffet features everything you would expect, along with many seafood items and rarer dishes like chilled octopus salad (quite good), Korean chicken (spicy but tasty), steamed crayfish (eek!), and whole broiled salmon (just decent). A section with chicken tenders, french fries, and mac-n-cheese caters to finicky children. China Buffet also features an American-style salad bar, a fresh sushi bar, and an extensive dessert bar with hand dipped ice cream. However, the "star" of the show, in my opinion, is their "Hibachi Grill." The setup is similar to a Mongolian grill: you choose your raw ingredients and a sauce, take your selections to the chef, and he cooks it in front of you. The beef and vegetable stir-fry I created was outstanding! Like all buffets, I advise eating at peak mealtimes to avoid food that has languished on a steam table. Even though I dined at the peak dinner hour, a few of the vegetable and kid's items were room temperature and/or dried out. However, the bulk of the buffet dishes were fresh and wonderful. There is table service to manage beverage refills and removal of used plates and utensils; my server was incredibly efficient in refilling my beverage. The cost is $7.99 for Monday through Friday lunch, $10.99 for Monday through Thursday dinner, $9.99 for Saturday lunch, $11.99 for Friday and Saturday dinner, and $11.99 for all hours on Sunday. Given the food quality and variety, I believe the pricing is appropriate. If China Buffet keeps its quality consistent, I believe it will become a very successful addition to the Greensboro restaurant scene. read more

To start this review I was actually excited about coming here. I was craving some Hibachi Shrimp with Lo Mien and couldn't wait to eat. I was practically starving. I checked out the reviews of this place before coming and they were good...?? I had gotten some coupons in the mail for this place and I even thought it seemed pricey with the coupon for a buffet atmosphere but I went anyway. (Didn't use a coupon though) They were filled with folks that look as if they frequent a buffet way too often. You couldn't get near the hibachi grill for people piling mounds of food up for the ONE CHEF to cook. One chef for this size of a place is insane. I waited to get my fresh shrimp cooked about 15 Min's and another 5 or so while it was cooking. I knew before I even ate it that I wouldn't like it. I also wanted chicken, however, it was filled with fat and the steak was the same way. So I passed it on by. 8.99 a pound for the mess I got was ridiculous. I want you to understand that I ONLY got shrimp (which are very small here) and Lo Mien. Nothing else and it was over 10.00. The food lacked taste and flavor and the shrimp tasted cheap and fishy...and not in a good way. I will not be returning to this place, EVER again. So disappointed. The food on the buffet looked greasy and fatty. But, there are plenty of people grazing over it so I am sure they are doing a good business. I wont be a repeat customer I can tell you that.
