Excellent service from hostess, food runners, bussers, and the phenomenally attentive server who was personable and helpful. The food was fantastic and entree portions were enough for two (or a bonus meal of leftovers). Food was amazing and had a ton of flavor. Service was excellent. The portions are large, my husband and I split the Mongolian beef. The lettuce wrap portions are large as well and had phenomenal flavor. And ambiance of the location is very modern, clean and elegant. We have been here on a few occasions, and enjoyed every visit. Standard, solid Chinese fare at reasonable prices. I guess for being located in Novi this is quite a draw (not many options around this town). Ambience inside is a touch formal with white table cloths and dark lighting. They have lots of Buddha statues in the restaurant, which is random but kind of fun. I don't live in Novi but if I did I'd go back. I went with a table of six on a Saturday night and it was crowded but we had a reservation so no wait. Service was fine but on the slow side (understandable given the crowd). My girlfriend and I shared the coconut curry tofu and green bean dish, which was nicely flavored with good, crispy tofu and plenty of green beans. We also got the old-school fried rice with a mix of beef, chicken, and shrimp. It was very standard, thought the beef was gristly. For an appetizer we got pork dumplings, which were also pretty standard though the sauce had a nice kick to it. Another couple we were with wanted vegetarian options and they were able to find some without a problem. We were feeling dessert and were amused to learn that their options were chocolate lava cake and fried cannoli. How about that for a Chinese restaurant?! We got the cannoli which was good though kind of small for two people (we each got 2-3 bites). This was our first time here. When we walked in, it was pretty busy, and we were told that the wait would be 25 minutes. It didn't take that long to get seated. Mallory, our server was super helpful and recommended some of her favorite dishes to us. We started with the Spicy Edamame appetizer. Unlike most edamame, which usually is very simple, and any flavor comes from salt and the soybeans, this dish was filled with garlic and onion aroma and taste. It was a whole new, savory, delicious take on the typically basic dish. LOVED it. My husband and I got two main entrees to share: 1. Three Wonders - steak, chicken and shrimp in a sweet Garlic sauce. It was so amazing and filled with a variety of protein and veggies. Super tasty - and I'd highly recommend it. 2. Chow Fun noodle dish. The server told us to order veggie version and add chicken vs ordering chicken and adding veggies to save a few dollars. This entree was also very flavorful. It had chopped peanuts on top which was a nice contrast to the wet noodles. I probably preferred Three Wonders but both were amazing. If this restaurant was in San Francisco, New York or Seattle, I'd give it a 4 star. But around here, it's very hard to find incredible Chinese food. So for SE Michigan I'd say it's a 5 star and I can't wait to come back. read more

This place didn't excite me at all. The decor and atmosphere were nice but otherwise it was very ordinary. In fact, it was less than ordinary for the price. After searching their small lunch menu for something that actually sounded good, I decided on the Hawaiian sweet and sour chicken with egg drop soup. The egg drop soup was not my favorite. It was too chicken broth based rather than egg based. It tasted like chicken soup with some veggies and a little egg mixed in. Very disappointing. My main dish was also disappointing. Although the flavor was good, the chicken was tough and not very meaty. It was hard to cut and even more difficult to eat. Big bummer! The place was one big room which meant it was loud. On top of the talking, the tables were covered with paper and each time a table needed cleared the wait staff would crumble up the huge piece of paper - which was totally annoying. Then replace with another piece which make a lot of noise. It was a good thing I enjoyed my company because that's what really mattered. But at $10 for a lunch combo that was very mediocre, I won't be back. read more

As a vegetarian with pescatarian tendencies, yes that's what I said, having several options was very exciting. However, another customer raved about the cauliflower fried rice. Watching my carbs made me decide very quickly looking at her colorful dish. I started with a salad and received a nice sized salad with just the right amount of salad dressing. Then my entree arrived - insert violin music here - and I could not wait for my first bite. Will it be as good as the lady shared??? YES! YES! YES it was. Perfectly made cauliflower with lots of fresh veggies and enough shrimp for my daughter to be happy when I got home. The veggies were perfectly cooked. Get this...broccoli, asparagus, green beans, mushrooms, peas, and bean sprouts!!! I was in heaven. The shrimp was not needed but a good addition to the meal. The soy sauce was perfect! Not over powering like many other Asian restaurants. I did add a tiny bit more, which was just enough for me. My friend had sweet and sour chicken with no breading. This was also recommended by the same lady. She ordered a side of veggie fried instead of the white rice accompaniment. I don't usually rate based on experience but here I go. Parking easy. This place is super nice. Let me start by saying I came on a Friday evening around 6 so I guess a rush is expected. With that being said, I sat at the bar to order Togo. It took a few minutes for someone to get to me; however, the bartender made me an awesome drink. Cheers to that. Here's my challenge. I literally ordered 2 appetizers and a soup. A couple sat at the bar almost 10 minutes after me and ordered a same app and an additional one. There food came out almost immediately. It's as if they got priority because they are eating in versus me ordering Togo. Now I'm watching this couple get their entree in front of me while I'm starving. I'm super confused. Not happy at all. Had the shrimp pad Thai lunch special last week due to the reviews. Assumed it would be a bit dry, as most seem to be. Asked for a side of peanut sauce, but they don't have it. Went to pick up the food to go. Picked it up on my break. Lunch special was priced great ! $11 for lunch portion, comes with a spring roll as well. Good size portion. Pad Thai was very flavorful! We had given up on finding a good Chinese restaurant within reasonable distance of our home, but now we have one. The ambience and service were excellent, and the food was very good. My only complaint was that the food was a little oily for my system. Otherwise, delicious. We had the dumplings (no oil there), the szechuan eggplant (a bit oily), and the Zi Ram beef (also a little oily). We were shopping in the area so I decided to check this off of my list since it was nearby. It was busy during lunch, but we were immediately seated at a table in the center of the restaurant. I had the firecracker shrimp with fried rice and substituted a spring roll for the egg roll. The dish was good, but the breading on the shrimp was not crispy and was coming off the shrimp. The meal is also served with Chinese wedding soup. I had never heard of this soup, but it was very tasty.
