Using cured lemon was a very clever idea as the sauce was not too strong but still had depth; the saffron and turmeric were well balanced. The fish itself was NOT overcooked and flaked perfectly. The vegetables were also executed well and cooked so they could be eaten with the same bite. The star of the show was still the cook on the fish with the wonderful sauce. I lived in Maryland for 30 years and had crab bisque many, many times. This was the first crab bisque that wasn't tomato based - it was a brownish, creamy version. It was more like chowder - although when I looked up 'bisque', it most certainly can be creamy. I might have been fine with the 'creamy version', but it lacked any crab flavor and had no crab in it - not one shred. I've never had any fish soup that had no fish in it. I took a few spoonfuls and left it. My partner tried it and came to the same conclusion. The entrees came next - I got the Seared Branzino and my partner got the Shrimp and Scallops. The Seared Branzino was okay - there were bites where I had a very fishy taste - and it was a very small piece of fish. My partner's Shrimp and Scallops came with steamed garlic spinach and mashed potatoes. The Scallops were tender and cooked perfectly - they were in a delicious sauce and had a very nice sear. However, the Shrimp were tough and chewy - we were both very surprised to have one item (scallops) so good, and another (shrimp) on the same plate, that was so bad. I told them that was not what we discussed and made it clear I'm allergic to tomatoes. I was told it wouldn't be a problem to make the fish I actually requested. Instead of remaking the dish, they took the same fish back, removed the toppings, left the tomato residue and brought it back out with the same side; including cold rice. After I clearly stated an allergy, serving the same fish with the tomato residue is unacceptable. This was careless and disappointing. If a customer mentions a food allergy, the dish should be remade, not modified and sent back out.

My wife had the Chicken Quesadilla $15 (comes with fries). I had the combination tacos $16 which had one hot sausage taco, one chipotle and one birria. All three tacos were stuffed and bursting with flavor. The double tortillas were awesome and made the overstuffed tacos easier to handle, but were also fresh and had a nice crunch to them. I enjoyed the birria most with the chipotle coming in a close second. The hot sausage taco was decent, but I needed more heat and flavor from it. The birria had a tasty combination of cheese, cilantro and onion to go along with the seasoned beef. The chipotle chicken partnered with pineapple, cilantro and onion hit the spot as well. The Chicken Quesadilla had a perfect portion of melted cheese and lightly seasoned chicken. It also held together extremely well. The fries were forgettable, but the main event was delicious.
