After Harvey, not much food at home came here for lunch. Good menu, we ordered shrimp eggrolls, pork eggrolls, shrimp lomein, and general joes chicken. Food is average for take out Chinese. Nothing special. Customer service is beyond terrible. I ordered a few meals online for a get together. One meal just didn't show up. It was on the online receipt and paid for, but not in the bag. It wasn't too expensive but it was someone's dinner. That's an easy mistake to correct, right? I called China Cottage to request the missing meal. All they would do is credit me back the cost of the meal. I guess they thought it wasn't worth their time and resources to send a driver back to deliver the missing item. So it cost them a customer and a bad review here. read more

The food was excellent and plentiful. I have ordered from other Chinese Restaurants before and was delivered what looked like a small lunch plate that you get from the freezer section in your grocery store for just a few bucks, but was charged $10 for. I placed an order for General Tso with combination rice and Sweet and sour chicken. On Sunday 8/20/17. This was the nastiest Chinese food I've ever had. The sweet and sour sauce was so blan it wasn't funny at all. I've never had a sweet and sour sauce that didn't taste like anything. . The rice had 3 shrimp, I paid 9.00 for combo rice that had no combo. I read the reviews before ordering and somebody lying . This crap was disgusting. If you are going to order for pick up or delivery please check your order before you pay. I am going to stop ordering food from this restaurant because the past few times I've ordered food, something was missing but I was still charged for everything. The staff also tried to tell me they packed the food when it clearly was not in the bag. I only gave them this final chance because the food used to be tasty but recently has been inconsistent. For example, the sauce was watery on my last ordet of ma po tofu and the hot and sour soup was very bland. The lady at the front had the nastiest attitude because I asked if shrimp fried rice came with the meal if I paid additional charge..after yelling it didn't i ordered shrimp fried rice and general tso chicken I paid for shrimp and I received the wrong chicken and the chicken fried rice instead of the shrimp I paid for!! She also had a disgusting attitude because I asked for extra sauce! She began to yell in her language about me asking for 1 extra sauce. She is rude ill mannered and has very poor customer service!! I called for delivery and if your oder 5 miles away they want you to order more then $25. I'm 10 minutes away, im not 5 miles away. I ordered beef and brocolli dinner combo meal and lets just say the fried rice was the only thing that tasted ok. The beef was soggy...fatty tasting the sauce was overpowering which made the beef taste even worst. The eggroll was tasteless and the cream puff was greasy. The wonton soup tasted like oils and the wonton itself was not cooked all the way. When I received my food the delivery guy had a really bad attitude and was rushing us to pay. I will never order from here again. Please order somewhere else where there food is worth $14 for dinner I wouldn't pay $5 for this. I would rate this restaurant in the negatives because the only thing that came out okay was the timing. read more

Food was okay, at best. $30 of Chinese food gets you not just a ton of food, but also great-tasting food. This? "Eh." At the very, extreme best. The dinner order was...well, the size of one half of a lunch order. Now, when it comes to delivery. I ordered two iced teas that were half spilled into a plastic bag. Egg rolls come with any order above $25. It must have been the lightest egg rolls. because when I opened my tea-soaked bag of food, the egg rolls had disappeared. Dinner orders also come with crab puffs. Also gone from our order. Hm. I thought it was a mistake, hey, those things happen, no biggie, right? I called to ask about the order, the lady at the place was incredibly rude and condescending and actually screamed at me to tell me I was wrong, that I didn't order the egg rolls. that no one orders egg rolls (even though I'm staring in big bold letters at "PORK EGG ROLLS WITH ORDER OF $25" on my computer) I was reasonable, and the lady was incredibly rude. So, if you're using grubhub, or in the neighborhood, look elsewhere. The Westhcase district is right next to Chinatown. You'd think this kind of service and food would be acceptable in, I don't know, the Third Ward and there's no Chinese food for miles around. But when you have competition all around you? Very rude! My staff and I orders lunch from this place frequently... our information is already in their system due to how often we patronize their business. The lady taking orders over the phone has a disgusting attitude, cuts you off, talking over me, rushing me to order, does NOT like answering any questions! I requested delivery and as im building my order to meet the minimum $$ required, she cuts me off and tells me very rudely "You need to come in for your order, it's not $16". I replied will you give me a chance to finish, she replied "well go ahead", very rudely. Hands down the best General Tsos chicken that I've ever had. It is not like your typical sauce that taste the same at most other quick service or take out Chinese Restaurants. It actually has a lot of flavor and the chicken is all white meat and lightly breaded. It isn't like any other places that use some kind of a wet batter where you get all breading and very little chicken. The service is quick and friendly also and the facility is clean..... I ordered delivery service online thru EAT24 and received it in 35 minutes. The food was hot and delicious. I ordered the Seafood delight as a combo with soup and egg rolls. The shrimp were large and fresh, the scallops were large and tasty, the crabmeat was artificial so booo on that, the fish was large white & moist and great, it has a mild but delicious white sauce which complimented the seafood nicely.
