First and last time ordering. The service is polite and prompt. Food is subpar. I ordered teriyaki chicken and Mongolian beef. Let me explain that there are two teriyaki chicken's. Teriyaki chicken(pic provided) OR Chicken Teriyaki on a stick(pictured by another yelper). The "teriyaki chicken" is best described as grilled chicken that was lightly breaded and had a yellowish color(possibly fried because the breading was crispy). The "chicken teriyaki on a stick" is the typical American Chinese teriyaki chicken that most expect to get when ordering teriyaki chicken. No one explained this to me over the phone, there were no pictures and the dining room is closed so I couldn't even see the pictures on the inside to verify. The chicken was tossed with scallions and white onions with a brothy liquid that was light brown. It looked more like curry chicken to me, and I've never had teriyaki mixed with white onions and scallions. Husband liked the flavor, the kids did not. I was not thrilled because I thought I was ordering something grilled. Moving onto the Mongolian beef...upon opening the smell was pleasant. It looked like typical Mongolian beef initially mixed with scallions.....wait bell peppers? White onions?? Upon trying the Mongolian beef, the meat was chewy and the only real flavor I tasted was overpowering onion and "spiciness." I didn't taste the normal sweetish/Chile blend of Mongolian beef. It's supposed to be made with flank steak and I honestly think that either it wasn't mAde with flank steak or the quality of meat was extremely low. Finally, Mongolian beef did not come with the expected crispy white celephane noodles-but a medium bag of stale wonton strips. Lastly, I ordered a small egg drop soup. What I got was. Gelatinous mix with the egg in it, like sweet and sour sauce when it gets cold and thickens. I couldn't eat it. I read some good reviews from people so I gave it a chance, but I feel like part of this could have been prevented if they explained the menu stuff over the phone. Two stars because pleasant service and my husband liked it. I'm bummed it wasn't better because we would have become regulars.

While it may appear a little divey at first, the food is excellent. I had the Hunan chicken with fried rice. The meal didn't appear remarkable at first glance. I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh baby corn, tender carrots, crisp cabbage and snow peas. The rice was unremarkable but the egg roll was made from scratch and you could taste the difference. This is not a date restaurant and the tables attested to the fact with packing tape repairs. However, if it is just you and you are up for some very fresh Chinese food--this is an excellent choice.

New Yorker here. First thing to know is that my mother (Brooklyn native) and I had an unbelievably,…read morealmost comically terrible Chinese dinner from Nim's Garden (which is also in Milton). I guess I should have known we were in trouble there, since there doesn't seem to be anyone of Chinese origin that works there. The egg drop soup was clear, gelatinous, and bland, the chow mein ... didn't look or taste like chow mein, and my shrimp & veg dish in white sauce was bland. We needed revenge, so we tried China Fun. Mums dispatched me to pick up an order of egg drop soup first, so I could bring it home for a taste test. If it passed, we'd order entrees, and I'd go back. It passed! It was the right color (yellow), and it actually smelled and tasted of eggs! We decided to commit and order dinner -- Fried Shrimp appetizer, Orange Chicken Combo, and Hunan Triple Crown. The fried shrimp was good, and I enjoyed the Human Triple Crown, although the "lobster" looked more like a fat crab stick. I'll let it pass. The sauce was good and the dish was flavorful. The shrimp and scallops were fine, and there was enough mixed vegetables to balance it all out. Mums enjoyed her orange chicken. The egg roll with her combo was a little lackluster -- thin and small -- but the interior was far superior to Nim's, which had been an unappetizing grey colored mess of cabbage. We're not going to try to compare China Fun to the best Chinese restaurants on the planet. But for Milton, it's pretty darned good. My mother likes that it is family owned, and we appreciate the friendly staff, and authentic food. I have read reviews here that say that China Fun is misleading people by saying it is "dine in". They're not misleading you; there are nice, tablecloth covered tables and chairs inside. But it isn't a *restaurant*. You go up to the counter and put in your order (or call it in), and from there, you can take it to a table if you like, or go elsewhere. I love these kinds of places! I'll post pictures of the take-out menu (current as of June 2024).
