I've been meaning to try this place since it opened and decided to check it out for my birthday dinner this year. Four of us went and we all enjoyed it. Our waitress was incredible, very knowledgeable and patient with my families questions about the menu. She made the experience that much better! Food wise we had: -seaweed salad (standard but yummy, 7/10) -spicy cucumber salad (a table favorite, 9/10) -potstickers (another favorite, my niece is ready to return for these alone! 10/10) -chicken clay pot with rice (really good, but I wish there was some veg in there or something? Kind of one note, but still tasty. 7/10) -short rib clay pot (I didn't try this but my sister enjoyed it, 7/10) -Panang curry (a go to favorite, my niece is very happy to have another place in town to get it! She gave it a 10/10, I give it an 8. It was a little fishy for me and I prefer more liquid.) -eggplant in garlic sauce (this was a mixed reaction. My mom ordered it upon the waitresses advice that it wasn't too spicy but it actually ended up being too spicy for her to eat. I enjoyed it a lot though the texture of the eggplant was perfect and the flavors were very well balanced although it was the spiciest thing we had.8/10) -creme brulee milk tea with tapioca (I love boba but this was kind of boring.6/10) -cotton candy milk tea with rainbow jelly (14/10, the best I've ever had I think. We will come back for this again and again.!) Overall it was a really great experience and the pricing was quite reasonable, we got all that plus a couple sodas for $108 before the tip. Easy parking, cool vibes, great service, and I would say I don't doubt that Xian Noodle Place is one of the best if not the best Chinese spot in Pensacola. However, in writing this review, I have to compare to spots I've ranked with however many stars, which includes different spots around the country, and when compared to the rest of the field, the ballgame's a bit different. First off, I'm grateful Pensacola has Xian Noodle Place. There clearly aren't that many options here when it comes to authentic Chinese food (I was trying hard to find a place when I landed at the airport). When I walked in, the service was friendly and seating was immediate. There is a bar area and there is a large seating area. Trendy remixes of Chinese pop hits from years past were being played. This all is super cool. As people know from my past reviews, beef noodle soup is a big factor in my judging. And I saw beef noodle soup options on the menu here and asked about them, because I want to make sure I'm getting what I'm wanting here. I'll give credit to the server - she was completely honest that the flavoring of the beef noodle soup wasn't the hearty richly-seasoned version known in Taiwanese circles. So I ordered the roast duck noodle soup and soup dumplings instead. The roast duck noodle soup is absolutely solid. It does the trick. The broth is a basic chicken broth, noodles are fine, and the duck is plentiful, as one would expect. Good garnish, it's tasty and does the trick. The soup dumplings, I would say, are perhaps not what you would get at an establishment that makes their own. Again, it's tasty and does the trick, but likely about the same as if you went to your local Chinese supermarket and bought the soup dumplings from the frozen section and then prepped it at home. Total price after taxes and standard tip? Over $30. One person, one normally-sized bowl of duck soup noodles and five soup dumplings with sauce. I know Miami is extremely pricey for food, so perhaps this is a Florida thing, but $30 is a bit exorbitant for food that does the trick but isn't quite spectacular. Again, I'm sure there are other options here that are tasty, but considering the different factors, when comparing to others in the game beyond Pensacola, the bottom line is I'd say Xian Noodle Place is solid but not spectacular, and also fairly pricey for the level of food served. read more

First time trying this restaurant. There was 4 of us for a late lunch early dinner. The restaurant was not that busy. It was decorated like a Chinese restaurant would be. Nothing too fancy though. The prices were a bit high. I ordered a curry dish. I was not too thrilled about the taste. Everyone ended up taking the majority of their food to go. I ended up paying for the 4 of us,and it was over $100.00. no way was this considered a top class place , more casual. One dish was a seafood one and it had imitation seafood in it. For the price it should have had some real scallops or lobster. It was fake, and a couple of pieces you had no clue what it was supposed to be. Everyone agreed when we left that there were better places in the Pensacola area and much cheaper. The food I'm sorry was not exceptional or anything I'd have to go back to get. It did not taste very authentic. After traveling extensively in Asia and also in Xiań, the food just fell flat. I will not be returning to this restaurant. One of the most authentic Chinese cuisine in Pensacola. The dining room is clean, and judging by the windows it use to be a Pizza Hut. Service is quick. Food wise, it is very good. I love their roast duck. It is as close to authentic Chinese food where it is not Americanized. There are known for their specialty meats (like their roast duck or chicken) and their noodles. In fact, I came here because I found out they started serving Beef Chow Fun. Chow Fun is a hand made noodle that is steamed then cut into thick strips. The noodles are thick, translucent, and chewy. The noodles are very delicate to handle and need a real wok with high heat to handle it without breaking. Same with the HarGow (shrimp dumpling) uses a tapioca based dough so it is translucent and chewy. This type of wrapper needs to be handmade on the spot. You cannot buy the wrapper because it does not hold/store. Once the dumpling is made, it can be stored in the freezer. Shumai, on the other hand, is not homemade. These are store bought. I have tasted the same shumai bought at Bien Dong or any Asian grocery store. The filling is mostly some kind of filler flavored with shrimp. A real shumai has real shrimp and real ground pork. I initially went to Xian's when they first opened and it wasn't that great. Recently, I went back and it was really good! They have REAL fried rice. If you try it, you'll know what I mean. I really like their platters. You get meats, rice, and a veggie. The braised beef is so tender. I just wanted to amend my previous rating. The food comes out pretty quick. The various boba options (yakult is my fav because it's nostalgic) is also fun to try. read more

As far as services concerned she took way too long we were there for over 15 minutes before we even got her to come over for a drink order. Food well to me it was bland but to my husband he really liked the choung qing hot & spicy chicken. But I will say their crab rangoon off the chart. I will be back though because it's only fair to give them another chance they were out of a lot of stuff but they just open business so. Been to this place so many times and can't believe I've never wrote a review. The staff always greats you at the door and seats you promptly. The menu is simple meat combo plates with noodles or rice. They do have some curries which I have not tried. The duck here is AMAZING. Always cooked well (ask for the roast because it has the crunchy skin) Tried for the first time the pork knuckle and and grilled pork chop and we were blown away how good everything was. They do have a fun selection of teas (with or without the boba) Some popular flavors do run out often. It's always nice and clean inside with k-drama level music playing in the background which always puts me in a good mood. This is a must go to. read more

I ordered the woodear mushroom salad while dining in and it was delicious. Well balanced and I love the chili in it. Overall very flavorful dish. I recommend and I would order again. One of my favorites if places serve it/ flavor it well. I also ordered the chow fun which was great and well balanced. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Ambience was basic nothing fancy. Not great on the outside or the inside. Had the rundown kinda vibe, but some people love that look for a Chinese restaurant. We came with a big party and it was not very crowded. Server was polite and attentive. The food came out fast...maybe a little too fast. My dish was not very good. We've ordered food to go here many times, most always had a great meal. Tonight, we ordered our regular braised short ribs with noodles and Braised trotters with noodles. Both meats noodles and broth were excellent.. but what we have noticed is; 1: Price is going up and yes I realize food prices have increased. 2. In the past, we would have gotten some fresh veggies to put on top, such as bean sprouts, cilantro and bok choi. Today, we received about 2 or 3 very tiny pieces of bok choi with our noodle bowls. Just left here with my family and wow I was so impressed. We've been trying to find a good Chinese restaurant here in P'cola and we finally found one! The food was tasty, came out in a timely manner and our service was great. The staff was friendly and super attentive. We got every order of dimsum we could find in the apps section and loved them all!! The shrimp stir fry noodles were delicious and the noodles are made in house (what restaurant can say that these days?!). The boba was also a hit. We ordered three different flavors, Thai tea, Passion Fruit and Brown sugar boba. Overall great experience with the service and food!!! The food menu was straight forward and many of their items sounded good. We ended up ordering Soup style dumplings (called bao) on their menu, two bowls of noodles (pork & roasted duck) and seaweed salad. Now everything we ordered was good (4/5-taste and flavor) with the expectation of their seaweed salad. It is not anything like what you order at a sushi restaurant so be aware. Dumplings were delicious and came with an almost Bbq-y sauce. I prefer siracha & soy sauce typically but to each their own. The broth for the noodles was tasty but I feel it could definitely be "umphed" a little more. My one big note was on my roasted duck. The meat was still a bit tough/chewy & made it hard to get off the bone but nothing that made me dislike the dish. I've eaten here twice and tried several dishes on the menu. I am *VERY* thankful to have another option to the standard Chinese fare found in Pensacola, and I have a lot of hope that the friendly folks here will work out the kinks. Let's start with the good: ++ Homemade noodles ++ Some less-Americanized options ++ A wide assortment of milk and boba teas, which are very good according to my kids ++ Some very interesting and delightful appetizers Areas that need work: -- The platters are just meat, no vegetable or rice option. I think this is just a kink and they will probably revise the menu so it can be configured into a meal somehow, without breaking the budget. -- Prices are high for the portions, especially considering 75% of some chicken items are skin, gristle or bone. So there is actually very little to eat. -- Some items are just not executed well. For example, the salt crystal chicken is pale, rubbery, and tasteless. This should be a crispy and flavorful skin. -- Some menu options are very hard to imagine, they need more pictures or descriptions to help the diner make good choices. -- The noodle bowls are basically soup, which resembles Pho without all the tasty accompaniments, and very little vegetable. Recommendations: !! Try the pumpkin pancakes! They have a wonderful taste and texture. !! Spicy seaweed salad! Best seaweed salad I've had in town, and tastes and looks like no other. I'm glad to see Xian's Noodle Place in this space and wish them all the best as they refine the menu and focus on execution. Called to order combination fried rice, stir-fried noodles w/beef, and xiao long bao. Fried rice had a strange taste. Noodles w/beef was the best dish we ordered. Flavorful but noodles were a little overcooked and soft. Xiao long bao was OK. But for the price I cannot recommend it. Very small pieces and not a good value. Had to wait 30 minutes inside the restaurant after ordering. So whatever time they give you, I would double it. And don't expect an apology or anything for your time to be wasted as well. I fully expect this restaurant to fizzle out and fail like so many other Asian restaurants in Pensacola. Disappointed. We got the clay pot chicken (well, at least that had ginger), and the chicken noodle soup (suuuuper bland. Not all white meat.) Another customer corroborated that the egg rolls were a thumbs down.
