The lo mien was way too salty. The beef was rubbery and tasted fake. The pork fried rice was lacking flavor. This is no different than the average Chinese mall food. Overall I was disappointed. I am saying what I am about to write with the context of previous experience with other Chinese places in the area. The pricing is mixed. Some prices are to high some are low. The pint side of rice is the cheapest I've seen. 1.75$. The egg roll even though it's not as big. The ingredients are top notch. The fortune cookies were actually good. (Fortunes themselves high quality and varied) The place was very organized. It was also very well kept and clean. The people at the front counter were efficient and organized. Very laid back also. So I had my fiance pick up food for us this past weekend. I've been terrible on my diet and figured YOLO! One last greasy meal before Sunday when I start back on my macros and stop eating like a jerk. I looked at their online menu, and called in the order, because they don't have an order online option. The food was ready as promised and it tasted fine. The sweet and sour chicken was actually the best I've had in Tampa. The egg roll was pretty delicious too, and we had enough food to share plus have leftovers for days. So why three stars? Because the next day in casual conversation my teenager was like "hey, can we get Chinese again?" And my fiance was like "no cause it's $40 every time!" And I was like nahhhh it couldn't have been. I totaled it up to like $30ish bucks looking at the online menu. He hands me the paper menu, and EVERYTHING is way more expensive than online. I get that prices change, but I was excited that I have a Chinese place so close that's super cheap. I can walk out of my front door, walk around the complex and be there. This is a family restaurant and a staple in Odessa. This is a to go style restaurant that has reasonable pricing with exceptionally fast service. The folks have been here for years. The restaurant is nestled in between a row of pizza, frozen yogurt, and sushi restaurants, and a few doors down from Louis Pappas Market Cafe. Inside you'll find 4 tables with seating for about a dozen people. Most folks are there to place a carryout order, and then wait while their food is prepared. China Dragon carries all of the standard Americanized-favorites, soups, rice and noodle bowls, friend and steamed appetizers, and a host of entrees in both a pint or quart size. They also have competitively-priced luncheon specials. I like their Spring Rolls, the Hot 'n Sour soup, Shrimp with Steamed Veggies, and one of their yummy fried rice sides. Normally only go during the "Lunch Special" hours - always piping hot and good. We always get sesame chicken, General Tso, and kids eat lo mien. Always good. There have been one or two times where the peas in the fried rice have been dry like it's been cooked for a while, but that's usually only been on Sunday's - but otherwise no complaints. They have great chicken wings and fries too. Oh, and we trust them so much we drive from New Tampa still now that we live out here. They're great! read more

My husband went here to order takeout and asked for a QT if general tso's and a QT of orange chicken and crab ragoon. He was told that they only do a pt of orange chicken. They screwed up and gave him both. He was charged over 23.00. Ie had orange chicken at many other places which usually comes with broccoli. It came with mixed vegetables but tasted nothing like orange chicken. The general tso's was not good either. The taste and quality of the food is not good. The service here is horrible. I ordered wonton egg drop soup and it came just wonton. I ordered dragon and Phoenix and the chicken was supposed to be general Tso's chicken . The chicken was just bland boiled white chicken. The wait time was 40 minutes. The staff was friendly, however, the food had no flavor. Im not sure how you mess up fried rice so bad that soy sauce doesn't even add flavor. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The best deal though are the fried wings. I never thought I would order wings from a Chinese place but this is my jam. Tonight, we gave this place a test drive (first time there) and ordered some Chinese takeout basics: fried wontons, chicken teriyaki, sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice, egg rolls, beef w/broccoli combination platter. These are all things that tell me if they know what they are doing, and clearly, they didn't cut it. Fried wontons - overcooked and very tough (threw most away). Egg rolls - skimpy on filling and overcooked/tough. Chicken teriyaki - okay, not great. Sweet and Sour chicken looked very fresh and the kid here thought it was tasty. Fried rice - bland. Beef w/broccoli - nice portion size, broccoli was good, beef was very chewy and bland (not so good, bordering on unappetizing.) Staff was very nice and friendly. I wish the food had been good. Disappointing. With the number of Chinese takeout places around (yet a little further), we won't eat here again. read more

The food was very bland I had to douse it in hot sauce and soy sauce, and the fried rice was just some yellow rice they warmed up. I was introduced to this place a few years back and I am an extremely picky eater. I won't eat any Asian food not at a restaurant that is expensive. But I tried my friends honey chicken and that was it, I was hooked! I have tried lots of the food now, even the huge fried wings, and it is all A+ quality. I have brought many friends here and now they love it as much as I do. The family is also very sweet and the food is always ready fast! When it comes to food, I am an EXTREMELY picky eater. For instance I won't eat mall Asian food because I think it has too much fat in it... A friend of mine suggested China Dragon to me 5 years ago. I was weary of trying Asian food not from a high end restaurant so I tried hers first. I loved it and was shocked at how amazing the quality of the meat is! I have absolutely fallen in love with this place. Everything I have had in 5 years has been perfect, not once was the quality not up to my high standards. And I go here at least once a week. The staff is extremely nice, even when you are running late or placing an order close to closing. For a person like me, picky, to find a restaurant like this, especially Chinese food, is one in a million. If you haven't tried it, you should. My personal favorite is the honey chicken, but the guy before me is right, the wings are amazing!!! HUGE wings too.
