Well for starters, I have been going here for 16 years! 16 years every Saturday! Until, one day, I got the same thing I had got every Saturday. The cook messed up the order and they took it back. Which was fine. But then the owner came out to the table and flat out told me I couldn't get my same thing anymore because they couldn't figure it out. 16 years, and I got reprimanded! By the Owner! I've enjoyed my lunch here with a friend, on our way from Carson City. I had a chicken-with-noodles-rice-meal that's usually presented as a topping meal in other restaurants. I like their spring rolls. Service is fast, attentive & courteous. I saw that the place had several Caucasians, & Latinos as customers that time. Amazing food for a great price! $8.50 for the dinner plate-- I got Kung pao, and hubby got the Thai veggies. Fantastic service too-- as soon as we sat down, they bought water and a pot of hot tea. Went to China East the other night for dinner. Hadn't eaten inside the restaurant in years. I usually utilize the drive-thru. The inside service was good and they were very attentive. There was two of us and we ordered the Canton Family Dinner. Portions were large and the price was right. We had enough left over for a couple more meals. Will be returning! read more

This place is WACK! Terrible service and very rude employee's. After getting my order wrong they claimed they are unable to fix it because they are "closing soon". Lady then told us that they can not do anything about it and then went on to blame me for not ordering right. Employee then started to raise voice and yell as to why she will not fix my order unless we paid even more money than original order. Moral of the story is that this place sucks and has very rude employees and Panda Express are the real ones around here. Call it a half star restaurant. read more

Service was good, but the environment was dated and in need of repairs. Food was delivered quickly. The lunch special is a great deal at 5.95, it comes with choice of soup, fried rice, noodles, and choice of entree. I got the sesame chicken. It was good, but the real star was the hot and sour soup. It had great spice and balance of flavor. It was not oily as it can be at some places., in, short out was the best hot and sour soup I've ever had. This was a good place to satisfy my craving for Chinese food tonight. The prices can't be beat! The dinner specials are $7.50 with a wide variety of choices. Each entree comes with an appetizer plate of one fried shrimp, one egg roll, and one paper wrapped chicken, and is accompanied by your choice of soup, egg drop or hot and sour. I had the hot and sour soup, which was tasty. I ordered the Szechwan chicken, which was plentiful with chicken and vegetables. It also came with rice, kind of like fried rice as it had egg in it but nothing else. It was a satisfying, fresh meal, but nothing really made it stand out as special. Excellent prices, large portions. China East serves probably the largest portions of Chinese food I have found in the Northern Nevada area. We had the Orange Chicken, the General Chicken, and Dry Chicken Chow Fun. (I know, there are almost no vegies there; what can I say?) Often times, Orange and General chicken seem to be mostly breading and very little chicken. These were full meaty peices, with a light almost tempura coating. Very crispy even within the sauce. The chow fun was also excellent. The restaurant is located in a former fast food type facility but nice lighting and flowers contribute to a nice decor. I will certainly be back! read more

I have been coming here for 18 years. Today was the worst lunch I have ever had here. There us a buy 2 get one free lunch special. Don't fall for it. They take the meat dish from 2 meals and spread it out over the 3 plates. Then throw in a few more noodles and rice on the plated. I know this to be true as I walked past a couple that ordered just 2 plates and their plates brimmed over. The general chicken used to be tangy and spicy. Today my 5 little pieces of chicken were BLAND and flavouless. The beef and broccoli had a strange funny aftertaste. It was also bland and flavourless. The food was horrable. My husband and I went to get dinner, the waiters sat us and immediately wanted to take our order, we asked for another minute. Waited about 10 minutes after my husband let the lady at the front know we were ready to take our order. Another 5 minutes the waiter comes in after his smoke break not even washing his hands and immediately goes to take another couples order that just walked in. The other couple was completely rude along with the staff of this establishment. We got up and left. We will not be back here for this reason and from previous experience the food quality (most bland Chinese in town, with normally the fastest service) is not worth the wait. read more

I've heard of China East and knew it had a drive thru and I had not tried it sooner for that reason. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was, I didn't go with the dinner special, good value maybe but usually not the best items the restaurant serves. I tried a special kung pao and was very pleased with the flavor and spice level before adding additional chili sauce. After trying all the other Chinese places in Carson and not having Chinese for about a year I was surprised how good China East was and will be back soon. They also serve beer and wine. read more

Hey guys, try the "house" soup with Mai-fun noodles. Huge bowl of goodness. Saw one review that said the base lacked depth. What I find is that it lacks the 5 pounds of salt that most chinese food seems to have in it! Delicate flavor with lots of chicken, shrimp, broccoli, and an assortment of chinese veggies. Wife and I generally split a bowl twixt the two of us and get an entree over rice which we also share. Leave sated, full and still in possession of the majority of my wallet intact. Worth a visit. If you don't like veggies, get the lunch special as you will be overloaded with carbs.. read more

i was sitting in the drive thru and the people handle the food with NO GLOVES & they pick up your food with there HANDS and put it on your plate!!! the ppl in there scratch there heads and im sure wipe there noses and watever else.. i feel like saying uhm can u wear gloves when touching the food . The prices are very low the quality is very high the place is clean the service is fast and friendly. It doesn't reek of garlic! The servings are more than generous choice of fried or regular rice, one of two types of soup, spring roll and a generous main course; or a good size bowl of war won ton soup. All for under $10. I decided to try China East because it had the highest rating in Carson City. I found it HORRIBLE! The Chicken Chow Mein was sticky, gummy, and mushy. The worst I've ever had. The ribs were chewy and tough. The broccoli and beef had some kind of pepper meat in it that my wife and I could not actually identify as beef. It put a spicy (not good spice) taste in my mouth that didn't go away for the entire dinner. The Orange Chicken was mushy. No crispiness at all. Yuck!!! I could go on and on but if this is the best Carson City has to offer, a new Chinese Restaurant is sorely needed. I don't like giving poor reviews but this food was horrible. read more

We had a horrible experience!!!! My boyfriend and I sat down for dinner around 8:30pm for a late night dinner. We sat outside and enjoyed some appetizers and tea. Everything was going well we placed our dinner entree and was enjoying the sunset. Minutes later the entrees came out (as hot as microwaved food after 5 minutes!) and we dove in. Literally 1 minute later the busser came out and said they are closing in 5 minutes. The time was only 8:43 pm they are scheduled to close at 9pm!!!! So we continued our conversation and gradually started to put the food away. My boyfriend started to sign the check when they turned the lights out at 8:45pm. The bussers came out again and rudely asked why we weren't gone! Then the owner came out and wanted to know why we weren't gone. We rushed to put our food in the boxes as we had only had two bites of the entree. Needless to say we will never go back, too bad because we're young and both have great jobs! read more
