As a fan of the first Hot Potato Pie, I had to try out their second store. Located inside a Walmart, I was immediately surprised by how spacious and bright it is. Plenty of sparkling clean seating made it a very comfortable place (and not noisy) to sit down and eat. Menu offers a wide variety of potato options (savory and sweet), including a very delicious potato salad as well as French fries and soup! Service both friendly and demonstrating a pride of ownership. Had The Rib and Mac attack, which is like a McRib with Mac n cheese in the best possible way. Tangy sweet BBQ sauce and tender but not mushy pasta, all in a giant, well cooked potato. More than enough for two people and piping hot. Easy to drop in or order take out while doing a bit of shopping. Highly recommend and will definitely be back to support this local business.

The restaurant is packed with…read moreold-time Americana and vintage artifacts, giving you something interesting to look at everywhere you turn. They also have an incredible beer selection with well over 100 beers on the menu, so there's something for everyone. A word of advice make reservations if you can. The wait was nearly an hour and it's easy to see why. We started with the fry bread and the jalapeño bombs. The fry bread was delicious, but those jalapeño bombs were an absolute 10/10 and a must-order. We originally came for the prime rib, but unfortunately they had already sold out around 6 p.m., which was definitely disappointing. Thankfully, the food that did make it to our table erased that disappointment pretty quickly. We ordered the two-meat BBQ plate with ribs and brisket, and both were cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, smoky, and paired perfectly with their delicious BBQ sauce. We also tried the spicy pot pie, which was unlike any pot pie I've had before, in a good way. It reminded me of an enchilada baked inside a buttery, flaky crust, and it was fantastic. The service was equally impressive. I feel terrible that I can't remember our server's name because he absolutely deserves the recognition. He was friendly, attentive, and made our entire experience even better. Between the amazing food, outstanding service, and unique atmosphere, this ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. In fact, it's probably the biggest reason I'd make the drive back to Carson City.

Food Unfortunately,…read morethe food was very disappointing. The ribs tasted stale and almost jerky-like, as if they had been sitting out too long or reheated multiple times. The basket of wings was cold in the middle and tasted as though they had simply been microwaved. They also tasted old and lacked freshness. The Jump Up and Kiss Me Chicken was overcooked and extremely dry. The flavor was just okay, but there was nothing particularly special about the dish. Service The service was very poor. Our waitress repeatedly rolled her eyes and barely checked on us to see if everything was okay. I had to repeatedly get up myself to ask for condiments, refreshments, and napkins. Management I was also disappointed with how the manager handled my concerns. After I explained our experience, her response was essentially, "Okay, I'll pass along your comments." She did not seem concerned or interested in making the situation better. Unfortunately, I understood why the service was so poor after speaking with the manager. A manager should set the standard for customer service, and in this case, I did not feel that there was much care or concern for the customers. I used to love going to Reds when they had the previous manager. He was always kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about the customers. The food was also delicious and tasted fresh. It's disappointing to see how much the experience has changed. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously because Reds used to be a place I genuinely enjoyed visiting.

The cashier/server was incredibly nice explaining on the menu works. We got the 3meat combo with 2sides and the loaded cheese fries for a family of three. (If I were to eat more like my young aged years the meal would not be enough for us). Luckily I eat small portions so it was just enough. The restaurant is located in an outside mall and inside has a normal sitting area with a few tables. We were planning to eat in the restaurant but unfortunately the fan was turned on high and we were getting so cold that we decided to bring it back to our hotel to enjoy the food. Now for the taste of the food. We got the 3 meat combo with 2 sides. They were out of chicken and jalapeños chicken sausage so we got the ribs, polish sausage and the brisket with fries and green beans as the sides. On top of that we also got the loaded fries with cheese. (We were a bit confused coz on the menu the loaded fries come with meat but when we open the box there wasn't any). The regular fries looked burnt (I didn't try that). The green beans tastes like chilly (from the can). The polish sausage is okay, the brisket is too dry for us, but the ribs, OMG, it was delicious. It's not dry at all (like any other places that we had before) and with the bbq sauce it made it definitely worth going back again. The $0.85 strawberry ice cream for dessert is good too. Sorry no pics as this review was completely after we finish the meal.

I went in big like a starving hostage and ordered a half rack of ribs, brisket, pulled pork, a Habanero Jalapeño Cheddar sausage link and a side of mac and F'n Cheese! My wife, she had the pulled chicken and a salad. First taste was the brisket, gotta go in for the brisket. The bark was so flavorful and there was the distinct smoke flavor. Unlike another place I've been to, this place was smoke forward and that's the vibe I like. Not bitter, but a good smoke. The pulled pork was out of this world and the ribs were just about perfect. Not fall off the bone but a great clean bite through. I know, I know everyone wants fall off the bone but hear me out, THAT'S JUST OVERCOOKED! Now let's talk about this sausage. If you aren't prepared for some serious heat (I should have known by the name) don't be a hero here. That link is damn hot. Like satan's b-hole hot. Flavor is amazing but it's hot as pawnshop wedding ring. I gotta say this place has got my attention. Not that it need my attention particularly, but you have it anyway. When I go to a BBQ restaurant, I want to taste smoke. That's what I'm there for. Butcher's Kitchen did not dissapoint. THEN!! the best part of the night was when they brought me and my wife back and showed us the smokers!! Like wizard of oz, ruby slippers, man behind the curtain sh*t, they showed me the damn smokers! Gave us the full tour of their amazing pits. Top notch man, top notch! You have a forever fan here. I will not rest until I've tasted everything on that menu twice over. FOOD: Bacon Cheeseburger (10/10): The barbecue options didn't really catch our attention, so we went with a burger. You can't go wrong with a good burger, and this place delivered. Loaded Fries (10/10): The fries were delicious. We chose the pork topping, and it did not disappoint. The fries were crispy, the meat was tender, and everything was topped with pico de gallo and a delicious cilantro sauce. Would definitely get it again. Full Rack Baby Back Ribs - My mom loved the dry rub on the ribs. If you don't like dry rub, there is BBQ sauce to dip it in. Again, super tender snd smoky. Chili - A little sweet, so compliments the savory BBQ perfectly. Fries - My husband loved the seasoning on these fries. The are super crunchy and comes on a big platter (we ordered the smallest portion of fries too). Great compliment to the BBQ. Such an underrated restaurant! 10/10 would come back when I'm visiting Lake Tahoe!

Our server, sorry forgot your name, was helpful and able to answer our questions, we decided on a few items and our party of six shared them. We ordered two pizzas (pepperoni and a capitol combo), we got the pretzel, caesar salad, BBQ brewmaster plate and a few beers. First off the pizzas are delicious and easy choice for anyone who comes here, it will not miss. The bbq platter was also very good, the portions are not huge but each sausage was tasty. The pig wings were tender and flavorful with the hot honey sauce. The pretzel was also great and paired with the stone ground mustard from the bbq plate was excellent. The only item that I think I would change would be the Memphis wings, they were on the salty side for all of us, the flavor is there but a lil too salty, I think the hot honey sauce would have been a hit on those wings. We tried a few beers the lager, Juicy IPA and an amber ale. I skipped the lager, my dad enjoyed his brew. As for the other two, I found them to be refreshing with a nice balance of hops for each of them and a great companion to the dishes we ordered. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stop by.

We get seated at a nice table near the front. My friend already knows the menu, so I go with hos suggestion for the Lunch special Duck with sauce over rice. It's $22 bucks, so it better be good! He has the Thai battered salmon for around $19. Soup is included and it's just a veggie broth, though tasty. Then our lunch specials come out. Oh wow, that duck look really good.
