Glad we found this place! What a great Chinese restaurant to go to after 8pm. We died up around 8:45 but they weren't closing till 10pm on a Friday night. Big location and I think they still had room to add some more tables. There was a lot of unused space. But the space they had used with tables was pretty full even at 8:30pm! They had a lot of to go orders being taken care of also. We ordered orange chicken, salt and pepper chicken wings, house chow fun (shrimp, beef and chicken) and fried pork chops. First time trying this place and I was very satisfied by the experience. Ordered takeout at the place and the staff was very friendly. I had some questions about the menu which were easily clarified by the experienced staff. The food I ordered was two sets of orange chicken which comes with chow mein at an additional cost but it's more than enough food for a big dinner and some left overs. For a drink I ordered a Thai tea with boba. Overall the food was great, really fresh noodles with great taste and delicious orange chicken. The Thai tea was a perfect choice too, not too sweet, not too bitter. The place was extremely clean, lit, and very impressive. My only complaint is I did notice the place echoes and it was not busy as we were there an hour before closing but I expect a busy afternoon to be a potentially disturbing if you try to eat there and have a conversation! I saw this restaurant today in my new restaurant recommendations by Yelp, and since I had some errands to run in town, I decided to give it a shot. The restaurant just opened super recently, and because of that, you'll see an inflatable flailing arm man and "grand opening" banners on the main road (Valley Pkwy.). You can't miss it! The sign on the restaurant exterior is also pretty big, which is nice, so you're not driving around searching for the spot. First impression of this restaurant once you walk in is that it's very clean and has an open floor plan. The staff was very nice and welcoming. They're also pretty attentive if you need something. The corn egg drop soup hit the spot for me! The few bits of corn added great flavor to the soup, as well. This restaurant has a small selection of dim sum items that include xiao long bao, chicken paw, har gaw, and shu mai. Their xiao long bao gives Din Tai Fung a run for their money. If you don't get the dumpling sauce with it, ask for it. You will NOT be disappointed. I also enjoyed the fried rice. I ordered orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, and beef lo mein to take home. The meat entrees come with steamed rice. I was impressed to see that the sweet and sour sauce is separated from the pork, so it doesn't get soggy. I did not enjoy the service at this restaurant. My husband's entree was served first. He was done eating then my entree was served 10mins after he was done eating. I waited almost an hour for my entree. Meanwhile, the waitress did not come by to offer an explanation, an offer for a free drink or a discount off of our bill. It was awful. When I finally asked the waitress why it was taking so long for my entree to arrive, she told me the kitchen staff was new and didn't know what they were doing. I had to ask her, she did not come by to offer apologies for me waiting almost an hour for a simple chicken with string beans lunch speacial. The food for both my husband and I were also bland and flavorless. The lunch special also did not include soup. We will not return to this place again. read more

Man, I almost hate to spill the beans on this place but here we go. The staff should be recognized top to bottom. Friendly, attentive, gracious, and very kind from almost the moment you pull into the parking lot. This place is light, bright, and clean. I've worked in food service for over 10 years and I've never seen a dining room like this. Beautiful tables, booths, and my mom wouldn't stop raving about the nice dishware. Finally, the food. Fresh, flavorful, and just flat out delicious. Be very aware that this is family style and there is a TON of it. 3 of us ordered 2 soups and 2 entrees and we took home most of it. This is the best meal I've had in ages. I will eat for 3 days off of not even half of our leftovers. On my list to go back to every time I visit. No question. Forget the other places. We've ordered delivery from here and it was really good. Second time we decided to go to the restaurant. Very clean and the staff is so friendly. It's cafeteria style layout so very casual/ informal. This spot is my parents go to spot for Chinese take out and after a busy weekend of cooking we wanted something easy and went for this. We do always order this over the phone but I did see that you can place an order online as well if that is easier for you. We ordered the kung pao chicken which had the perfect amount of spice which I love, we also got pork fried rice, broccoli beef and mushu pork which is my parents favorite. They have such great reusable tote bags which is always awesome to get because we always end up having leftovers. We have never dined in but when we picked up our order over the weekend it seemed really busy so I would love to give it a shot. The menu is so large that there is something for everyone to try! This is my new favorite Chinese food place in Escondido now. I've been several times and picked up as well. The food is great and always done really quickly. The flavors on the salt and pepper wings were the best I've had. They have some xio long bao and hargow as well which I thought was unique from other spots in town. Stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity here. We ordered the general tso chicken lunch combo and the steamed bbq pork appetizers. They also provided egg drop soup while we waited for our food. It was hot and tasty. When our food came it was delicious. Portion size was plenty to share between the two of us. The steamed buns were soft and pillowy with just the right amount of bun to filling ratio. The lunch special had the right amount of heat and sweetness to balance each other out. Surprisingly good! I honestly just stopped in because I was starving while driving in through the area. I definitely will look for it again if I am in the area. I liked the food and the service was soooo attentive! I would recommend that they redo the art on the wall eventually --- it looked pixelated. But before that, I'd say the expansive layout needs an indoor decorator for a better flow to the room---maybe use some plants or something to breakup the room into sections and seem less warehousey. read more

Came here with one of my old professors. Very modern aesthetic. Clean and bright. At 11 am, it wasn't busy at all, which was nice. The servers were pleasant. As for the food, I liked (but didn't love) the honey walnut prawns. The portion size was generous, but there wasn't quite enough crunch. They have lunch specials where entree dishes are $10 or less, which were extremely filling and fed about 3 people for 1 entree and 2 sides. Their lunch specials include fried rice or choice of chow mein. They also included the chinese chips with sweet & sour sauce, simple snack for our order! +Orange chicken lunch special - chicken was flavorful and SUPER crunchy I lovvvvvved it way more than panda express because sometimes PE can get mushy, but i loved the contrast of china fun! +mongolian beef - extremely flavorful, has jalapenos so be careful w/ your spice level. It was tolerable and came with tons of veggies! +salt & pepper wings - (not on lunch special but still really affordable for size of portion) super crunchy wings, has tons of garlic & this was one of the only places i found in escondido that has this item!! +egg drop soup - tasted clean, wish they added a little salt but nonetheless they included chili oil with our togo, so I just added some to my soup which made it spicy & flavored to my preference.
