This is a really great place for Chinese food. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that sometimes the service is not great. Otherwise, the food is fantastic consistently. Note: if you check in using the yelp app I was offered 10% off the buffet for up to 4 people. Because I am a vegetarian, going to Chinese food with my family can be difficult. This menu has great options though. We ordered the egg rolls (vegetarian and fantastically crunchy), chop suey chow mein (really diverse group of veggies on top and slightly burned at the bottom to make some of the noodles crispy which is soooo good), white rice, mixed veggies (including baby corn, bok Choy, broccoli and seasoned well and crunchy) and finally Mongolian beef (which my family confirmed was really good and had a kick). read more

Best place. Wonderful waitresses and Asian I'm assuming owners or invested family. They all smile and have great customer service. The food is amazing. Even if it wasn't, I'd eat there for 3 star food because it's so Pleasant pleasant to sit and eat good food and have great service. Most places that want to be successful should follow suit. Thank you so much for having great food and great service. You could charge more but I'm glad you don't. The Mexican girls that work there are so nice and secure. I'm a female that usually gets poor service from the female server who forgets that's they are in a service industry. The ladies that work there wether it be forever or a month, you are appreciated. Everyone is seated too close! The food and service is great but don't like bumping heads with the person behind me.

My third stop at China Garden in the last two weeks. The food is good, buffet area and whole restaurant super clean. Waitress came by every 10 mins to check on you and take empty plates away. I highly recommend this restaurant if you live in Selma or passing through. read more

SALTY SALTY SALTY! But damn is it not good lol. If you're from Selma you already know this place. It's the only real Chinese place aside from across the street China Hut. Do people really eat at Golden Dragon and Cho's? Anyways... They have a buffet with all the typical American Chinese foods such as orange chicken, sweet & sour pork, etc...they even have fries. If you don't want to eat there you can order a plate to go or fill a plate to go from the buffet line. Their interior is definitely dated as hell and the place needs a facelift. Did I mention salty? I've even told them to make one of my to go orders less salty and my lips still got burned from all the salt lol....never had that happen before. read more

Once it was sold the food changed, no flavor/seasoning, chow mein was not good, different food items is always a good thing, but, it has to be good. I would say the food and service is 4 star overall, but they change quite few cuisines, taste is good but kind different then before. The new owner I guessed adds some new items also, like fried shrimps, steamed salmon, coconut shrimp( better than Panda), some new desserts and so on, so the add-on star is for new items read more

Took my father in law because he said it's his favorite. I got to say I am pretty impressed food was amazing. I can't get no one to make the noodles the way I like and low and behold they make them that way for the Buffett. Food was fresh and damn tasty. They have dine in !!! The staff is super friendly and make sure you have everything you need. I order the War won ton soup and Pot stickers. The soup is on point and hit the spot on these cold days. After a long day at Kings Canyon, some in our group wanted to get Chinese food. Our group is from Orange County so we are pretty used to having a galore of selections of Chinese food. I myself was particularly skeptical regarding the food and wasn't expecting much. Boy was I in for a surprise! The food was good! Overall I enjoyed the food and ok number of selections. We've been eating in or takeout for years. Great go-to for Chinese. We had takeout yesterday. Ordered two entrees online thru Yelp iPhone app: Special BBQ pork chow mein and broccoli beef pan fried noodles; and two appetizers: pot stickers and crab and cream cheese rangoon. The entrees and pot stickers were scrumptious and tasty. The rangoon much less so. Overall, CG's food is plentiful and appetizing. No cut corners. Orders are ready and on time. Went to China Garden last night to pick up Mapo Tofu. I was surprised that the container wasn't the usual styroform box so I questioned it. He said they changed the container. The amount of food was half the usual amount and the price has gone UP!! I have been going to China Garden for years and the food was delicious. I will not be back with the new owners!!! read more

Honestly not a bad spot for some quick Chinese food, the buffet is quite small but it has just the right amount of American Chinese food to hit the spot. I always come in for lunch, haven't been here for the dinner yet, but hope to try it out eventually. The prices here aren't too bad, especially at 9.75 for lunch? China Garden is definitely one of my favorite restaurants out there! Their food is really great - there isn't really a dish from their buffet that I don't like (and I've tried most over the years). They have the "standard" dishes like fried rice, chow mein and broccoli and beef. But their buffet has other dishes such as sweet and sour pork, egg foo yung (young?), fried scallops, egg rolls and fried chicken. I also really like their almond cookies and a few of their other desserts (forgot what they're called). If you choose to order a la carte, I'd highly recommend their potstickers - they're big (probably twice as big as potstickers from other restaurants), filled with meat, and really delicious! Their buffet might not have as many selections as say, Hometown Buffet, but what they do have is really great. And you can't really beat their prices. read more

China Garden Restaurant is an average Chinese restaurant according to our "group consensus". Restaurant needs some refreshing (updating) in cleanliness and equipment for my taste. Friendliness needs improvement. Easy-to-find location near Floral and Whitson streets. Food was a hit and miss. My young kids loved the American French Fries and soft serve ice cream. Good orange chicken, mixed vegetables, egg rolls, and fried shrimp. Loved the addition of fruit (grapes, seedless watermelon, honeydew melon) to the buffet for a more healthy, balanced meal. Too bad for those who didn't get a white cake dessert--no cake dessert for those who weren't fast enough--even after 1/2 hour had passed--didn't restock it. Pass by the Egg Flower soup--very bland. Did not like the layout of restaurant. Felt a little cramped while at the buffet bar. There were several times where the kitchen and waiting staff had to go by the buffet where patrons were serving themselves at the buffet. Also, one had to slowly pass by the buffet bar to get to the restroom as there was not a whole lot of room. Pass by the overpriced cheap, Mexican and Chinese imports (nearby the entrance) for sale. Instead, look to the other side where the lovely Koi fish are in the large aquarium! read more

I haven't been back to this place since I was a kid but it's still exactly how I remember it... still bomb. As far as buffets goes this is by far my favorite. Their dinner buffet has all my favorites. Eggrolls, fried shrimp, spicy green beans & shrimp, salmon, stir fry, orange chicken, crab legs, mixed veggies, and more. Their dessert bar doesn't have the largest variety but what they have is pretty good. My favorite are the mini pumpkin pies. I have to be honest I might have a slight bias view on this restaurant since I came here every Sunday after church as I was growing up, it feels like home, and even though it's not the most glamorous restaurant it's nice to be back to a place that hasn't changed. It was okay but a place I won't go again if I really have to, to get my Chinese food fix. Food was average. Nothing special, just regular buffet dishes with hardly any "love" or heart put in it. Also what made me angry was they didn't serve any potstickers or dumplings when I arrived that day. Food was barely edible and generic.
