Stopped to have dinner on our way to the King river rafting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a smaller scale of the usual Chinese buffet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The price is very reasonable $14/lunch and $17/dinner. I loved the shrimp and green bean dish. They also have sushi and soup which are my usual to go items at buffets. Definitely a bargain. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of locals visitors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Friendly servers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a fish tank at the entrance which caught my eyes for I like marine animals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Good selection of food for the price that you pay. Formerly owned by Andy Wong who has since retired. Some comments were negative for this review on Yelp but I found that the selection of food was very good. Our party of 15 seniors had no complaints. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was good along with the dining area where they seated our group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For the price, taste and quality, it was all good.

Positive visit and eating experience on a weekday in April. I had not been to China Garden in over 20? years, I remember there was jello and ice cream so it was an epic dining experience at age 10! Lol! Now to the current review: clean and organized buffet restaurant. Nothing fancy and it doesn't seem that the new owner has changed the decor or layout. I recommend dining in for lunch, not sure what drink options they have other than soda if you came for dinner. Other reviewers mentioned not many meat options, but there were plenty imo at 11:30 on a Thursday. I stopped in to wish my grandma a happy bday-15 or so family members were eating together there but I couldn't stay the whole time. They are great for big groups ! Basic pizza available for little ones or if you really want pizza. My to go plate was $12.99 very reasonable. I tried fried rice , chow mein, mushrooms and chicken , spicy shrimp, and a veggie egg roll . Everything was tasty. Good lunch option in Selma or if your traveling the 99, easy to find off Floral exit. Friendly cashier and staff keeping the buffet clean and stocked.

We were seated almost right away, which was a great start to the experience. Our food was for pickup and everything was ready on time and piping hot. We ordered a lot because we weren't sure of the portion sizes, but they were massive so we had leftovers for days! We ordered steamed pork buns, orange chicken, crispy sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli, low mein, and Yangzhou Fried Rice. Everything was delicious and loaded with flavor. The standouts were the yangzhou fried rice which comes with shrimp, chicken, and vegetables. Loved all the meat here and big chunks of veggies. We all loved the orange chicken and the crispy fried pork especially. I tried to get my kids to sample the steam pork buns, but they wouldn't, which just meant more for me! Pillowy soft and full of tender BBQ pork, they were my fave. Truly a hidden gem right in the heart of Clovis!

Better to have half the amount and cost. 2. Egg flour soup, tastes like literally flour. It was so starchy. 3. Beef dish was large portion, but salty. 4. The prawn and snow peas were really good. Prawns cooked perfectly. 5. Hong Kong noodles were alright, portion was huge! Wish the server told us about the quantity. I would have just have the dinner special. The har gow (shrimp dumplings) are perfectly translucent with a juicy, flavorful filling, and the siu mai are tender and well-seasoned. The char siu bao (BBQ pork buns) are soft, fluffy, and just the right balance of sweet and savory. The *Peking duck with bao buns was a standout--juicy, tender meat with a perfectly crisp skin. When combined with the rich plum sauce and fresh green onions, every bite was absolute perfection. One of the best things about this place is the variety--whether you're craving steamed, fried, or baked dishes, their extensive menu makes it easy to try something new every visit. It was delicious the first time I came here with my family, and it continues to impress every time we return. My only critique is the interior could use some updating to freshen up the atmosphere. **Recommend for anyone looking for flavorful dim sum with plenty of great choices.

Known as a local gem, it stands out for its high-quality ingredients, made-to-order dishes, and consistently authentic Cantonese flavors at fair prices. D Hou's fresh, home-cooked Mandarin-Cantonese cuisine, personalized service from the owner, and cozy atmosphere made an immediate impression on me. The restaurant offers a warm, casual dining experience and has clearly become a favorite spot for both family meals and takeout. The owner, Lynn, is actually Korean and is frequently praised for being welcoming, remembering regular customers, and treating guests like family. That was certainly my experience as well. D Hou has earned its reputation for freshly prepared food made with high-quality vegetables and proteins. Standout dishes include the Kung Pao Trio, tangerine beef, and egg flower soup. I had heard many people rave about the Mongolian beef -- one of my favorite Chinese dishes -- so I had to try it. The Mongolian beef was excellent. The meat was tender, with velvety slices and lightly crispy edges, coated in a sweet-and-savory soy-ginger glaze that clung to the beef instead of pooling at the bottom of the dish. It was obvious the meat had been cooked over very high heat because it was beautifully caramelized without being overcooked. The balance of garlic, scallions, and savory depth gave the dish a fresh, authentic flavor. Only a handful of Chinese restaurants prepare this dish correctly, and D Hou can definitely be added to that list. The Kung Pao chicken was another standout. This Sichuan-style stir-fry featured tender marinated chicken and crisp vegetables in a glossy sauce that balanced spicy, sweet, tangy, and savory notes. The aroma of toasted dried chiles, chili oil, and Sichuan peppercorns immediately stood out. I especially appreciated that the dish focused on quality ingredients rather than filler vegetables. Instead of relying only on peanuts, they incorporated fresh vegetables and sliced water chestnuts that added texture and freshness. I was even impressed by the fried rice. It was rich and flavorful without being clumpy, greasy, or overly dry. Great fried rice should be lightly coated in oil and seasoned properly with soy sauce rather than drenched in it, preserving the rice's chewiness and aroma. Most Chinese restaurants in Fresno, in my experience, do not get this right. The fried rice here had a clean, balanced flavor that likely comes from quality oil and restraint with unnecessary ingredients. Rather than overloading it with vegetables, they kept it simple with eggs and scallions, allowing the texture and wok flavor to shine. The rice itself was firm with a slight chew -- not mushy or dry. According to Lynn, that perfect texture comes from using dry long-grain rice that is only a few hours old rather than overnight leftovers, as many restaurants do. Cooking it over extremely high heat in a wok also creates the distinct wok hei aroma and flavor. Customers often mention the generous portions and reasonable prices, especially considering the quality of the food. I agree completely. The portions are hearty and satisfying without feeling excessive. Lynn also mentioned they have not raised prices in over five years. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing -- the kind of place where you can truly unwind and enjoy your meal. I immediately noticed how many regulars were dining there, which speaks volumes about the consistency, value, and hospitality that keep people coming back. Their Mongolian beef is among the best I have had in town. The food and service are consistently excellent, and the combination of quality ingredients, fair prices, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere easily explains D Hou's loyal following.
