Food should have been better For dinner I ordered their Sesame Chicken. It looked pale and some of the batter inside wasn't fully cooked. This Cantonese inspired dish used a brown or dark sauce so it wasn't sweet, which did catch me by surprise. That's on me, the menu, at least the one posted online, made that clear. I didn't find the sauce to carry much flavor, so I'm still rating the dish low. I liked the place, it has an old Chinese restaurant feel to it, from the staff to the layout to the paper placemats showing the Chinese zodiac. We've been coming here on and off for 8 years. We have tried our old date night spot twice now in the last year and a half. I don't like giving bad reviews unless it's been a more than one time thing or getting dodgy. I wanted to wait to write a review until we had a another chance to revisit this place. The restaurant still is kept well. The service still prompt and good. Unfortunately it's just not the same quality food as it used to be. This last visit will be our last try. My husband never gets sick and he ended up with food poisoning. Something didn't look right about the normally vibrant dish, general tso. What he ate looked like sludge and he paid for it. Got home and they gave me 1 small bag of noodles for all 3 qts! This place is a hidden gem. Closest in the area you'll get to real Chinese food, yes the fried rice is actually brown not yellow. Everything we have tried here has been delicious and very flavorful. This has become our go to for a sit down Chinese restaurant. Recently we have noticed that portions have gotten much smaller. I assume it's be of ridiculous inflation we are going through. He worst portions is now the rice that comes with your meal. It's now a few spoonfuls on your plate instead of a separate bowl of rice. Hope they change back again. Unorganized, unprofessional, poor customer service. Made an online order at 6:30pm and was told the food will be ready at 7:15. I got there on time and ended up waiting another 45+ minutes before I got my food. Hostess will disappear for 10 minutes at a time and leave people to wait by the door confused and lost on the progress of their order. The Food was salty and mediocre and cold which tells us it was just sitting in the back. The food didn't deserve the tip that they make you pay AHEAD of time. After looking over the menu photos posted online we tried this place for lunch, thinking it was mostly takeout. Unfortunately, we quickly learned this is a sit down restaurant and the menu photos do not match the actual menu currently in use. Although staff was friendly, we found our lunches to be less than pleasant. My first bite of won ton soup contained a small bone, which is definitely a first for me. I didn't complain about it, though, as this can happen anywhere. I was just surprised because it was so unexpected. Sad to say, things went downhill from there. My husband's shrimp egg foo yong was oddly made and flavored in a very different way than he'd ever had before. Worse, my serving of sweet and sour pork was extremely greasy and unpleasant. The food wasn't just mediocre (as at most Chinese restaurants in the area); it was just awful. The chicken fried rice was tasteless and had chunks of dark meat instead of slices of white meat, and the rice was mushy.
