I ordered the beef lo mein, beef with broccoli, and boneless ribs. I don't usually go for ribs, but the photos looked amazing and reminded me of what I used to get back in California. The lo mein was just okay--nothing special, and not tasty enough to finish. The beef broccoli was too mushy and lacked flavor. But the ribs... honestly, they were disgusting. I couldn't eat more than a bite. On the bright side, the service was friendly and welcoming. Too bad the food didn't match the service. read more

Excellence customer service. Great food. Been here so many times and only once was the food not on point. Every place has a bad dish occasionally. I recently went and had the shrimp Peking style combination dish. It was full of fresh veggies and large shrimp. The pork fried rice that comes with it is good.. I like a bit more veggies in mine, but there is enough to be satisfied in this one too. This $8 meal also comes with a pork Egg roll. OMG I love their egg rolls. I had a place in Indy I loved that we would go to just for the egg rolls and hot mustard. This is my new spot for egg rolls until I find a better one. Definitely a good bargain and fresh food. I pass other places to get my carry out here. There is a few tables inside as well, if you choose to eat here. It's an open kitchen with a lot of traffic, no waiters. We moved to Naples and we had plenty of Chinese up north plus I'm a bit picky client over all ... We order from this place at last 8-9 time in last few weeks and today I'm giving them 5 stars !!! Food is consistently fresh , excellent shrimp in black bean sauce , vegetable friend rice , Hunan beef , hot and sour soup and many more we tried ... Everything is always fresh , excellent shrimps , quality meat for take out Chinese place . This is probably tastier than Buddackan with its overpriced menu ... We ordered two take out dinners One was sweet and sour chicken which was terrible. Most of the chicken seemed old and dry and stringy plus it was deep fried too long. Most of the pieces were so hard that I could not eat them. Most of my dinner went into the garbage even though I was hungry and we have a dog. I would not even give it to the dog. The other dinner was chicken with garlic sauce. It came with chicken which was edible. However, the vegetables that came with it had very little garlic sauce and 90% of the vegetables were just onions. Most of that dinner also went into the garbage also. We live close by to this restaurant but will never go there again. The food was just terrible and I wonder how they stay in business. read more

It's been a longggg time since I had some really good Chinese food. Little spots like these tend to always taste the same, and that gets boring with a quickness. Anyway, I didn't step foot into this location. I ordered take out and man! I ate the entire thing (which is not like me at all, I usually have left overs). Everything tasted delicious. The broccoli was fresh and crisp. It wasn't wilted and old like at most Chinese take out restaurants. The rice was bomb and the steak was heavenly. We just moved to the neighborhood and looked forward to trying the Chinese restaurant closest to our new home. This place was so disappointing. I ordered take out for my family and our friends family that was visiting. When I got the food home it was underwhelming but we were all going along with it, until we found some hair in our chicken lo mein. We had two orders of lo mein that we assume we're prepared in the same pot in the kitchen so both were thrown away even though we only saw hair in one order. We thought to call the restaurant and request a refund for the orders of chicken lo mein only. The employee who answered the phone sounded annoyed and said they would call us back. She did not offer an apology or sympathize with the situation. we received a call back shortly after asking for photos of the hair AND asking us to bring the food back. I explained that I have guests over and we are trying to enjoy what's left of the meal and if they could please just refund us for the lo mein so I could get back to that. I agreed to send photos. They never apologized over the phone and said they would only refund $10 if we texted photos. Each lo mein was close to $15. They stayed on the phone with me saying they didn't get the photos yet. We went back and forth, her saying they wear hair nets and needed proof, until they finally received the photos and refunded the $10. It's worth pointing out that you can see the food being prepared and I did not see anyone with hair nets on. They made me feel like it was my fault their was hair in their mediocre food. Later that day I did receive a text apologizing saying they decided to refund me $20 instead (still less than the cost of two lo meins). I cannot believe that this restaurant expected me to drive the food back to them as proof. That was the most upsetting part to me. I think they should have just apologized and refunded the portion of our order so that we could enjoy what was left of our meal. read more

Walked into China Gourmet 15275 Collier Blvd., Naples, Fl. When we walked up to the counter (Ester) was very unfriendly, with a distant stare in her eyes, it was as if she did not want to be there. I placed my order, and it came to $17.91. I retrieved my money from my pocket and said to her "I'm paying $9.00 cash and $8.91 from my card. After handing her the cash she didn't take off the cash. She said, "hand me the card," I said "take the cash off first," she was very agitated, and refuse to take the cash off she said, inaudible, about her boss. (Ester) snatched the card in an aggressive way, tapped on her cash register, snatched off the receipt and said sign here." I said, "Are you having a bad day?" She shook her head yes. After, getting our food I requested her boss's name and phone number, and I asked her what her name was, she said "Ester." She wrote her boss's name and number on paper. Her boss's name was LinLin Wong. The food at China Gourmet is chefs kiss! but the attitude of the cashier "Ester" poor! I think she gave me a fake name! Hands down the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Ordered the beef with pea pods. Received half an order of carrots and half an order of beef with peas pods. Beef fried rice was basically white rice with peas and carrots in it. I couldn't even cover up the taste with soy sauce, hot mustard or sweet and sour sauce as they included none. One fortune cookie. My husband and I order from this restaurant often for takeout but last night was extremely disappointing not only with my meal but with the handling of the situation when I called the restaurant. My honey chicken had salted peanuts in it and uncooked onion. When I called to ask about the peanuts I was asked again and again if it had peanuts in it. They also said that meal usually didn't come with peanuts. Yes, that's why I was calling...the manager called back and repeated the same thing. I gave up and said goodnight. We'll be getting takeout somewhere else. I understand mistakes but not complete lack of customer service by not only an employee but the manager. read more

Food is okay/good, but nothing special, though I must admit that the Krab Rangoon (yeah K, not real crab, never is, at any Chinese restaurant) is better than most places I have eaten it, and the potstickers (gyoza) are better than most places. The beef sticks are good. Service is usually pretty quick and they are open pretty late, which is convenient as well. The only downside is sometimes someone's kid is in the restaurant playing games on his phone and talking really loudly with his friend, so if you are waiting for an order, it can be annoying/distracting. My wife and daughter just went into the restaurant and bought 1 container of vegetable fried rice and 1 container of brown rice. When they got home, my wife noticed a strand of hair in my daughters vegetable fried rice. They drove back to the restaurant and astonishingly the lady working the front did NOT apologize, didn't refund the meal and only offered a can of coke. Are you kidding me??? I am a simple dude, if there's a place that can give me the same thing every single time without a hitch, I come back. I rarely get anything other than fried chicken wings with fried rice so my opinion could differ from others but I have never been disappointed from China Gourmet and not to mention the owners are extremely friendly and have even stayed opened a little later than usual just because I called in a few minutes before they closed and told them I could pick up the wings in 10 minutes. Other places wouldn't have even answered but they gave me what I wanted every time. 4/5 stars because like a lot of the reviews state, it could use some cleaning. read more

Food here is good, though not big city Chinese good (NY, Boston, LA, etc). It has a few tables inside if you need a place to eat but carry out is the big business here. They turn it over fast and it is priced right. Good portions. I like their egg foo young and their moo goo guy pan. Egg rolls have too much five spice in them but they seem fresh. Normally I love General Tso's chicken but this place doesn't do it great. Most other items I've tried are good. read more

I don't like to post negative reviews. This place is close to home and I had heard good things about it. I wonder if they have changed ownership recently? The place was filthy. Floor was dirty, counter was sticky. Hopefully the food would be better than the place looked. I ordered my favorite: chow ho fun. Difficult to mess up. But it was awful. Wrong noodles. Not chow ho fun noodles, which are thick, wide rice noodles. These were thin, skinny noodles. Bland and dry. No sauce at all. Inedible. I threw it out after a few bites. How can you mess up chow fun? Just terrible. Ordered Pork Szechuan, couldn't find the pork. Brought to gentleman's attention, he dug to bottom and found 3 tiny pieces the size of a large toenail clipping. I thought the flavor was the worst, really inedible. I didn't eat past the two bites, left it there. So disgusted, I didn't even want my money back.
