    Kung Po Chicken

Love this place!! To me ordering take out Chinese is the pinnacle of seeking comfort during stressful times! China house is probably the best Chinese restaurant in Berea, Middleburg Heights, Parma, North Olmsted and probably all the way till downtown Cleveland! It's a small family owned business in a strip mall. Their dishes are very authentic and made with homestyle love! Very delicious and the price is simply unbeatable. All items are made fresh to order! The staff there are very friendly with me and they seem to really enjoy their job in their business and it really shows in the quality of their food! My favorite items to order here are their: crab Rangoon, pork egg roll, steamed pork dumpling, house special fried rice, and spicy Kung pao chicken! It is so yummy! Due to the pandemic, there is no dine in but the take out experience has been exceptional. The food is ready within 10 minutes of ordering by phone and everything ready to go when you arrive. I just wish they'd also add in the utensils in the bag because I always forget to carry one on my way out. Highly recommend this place to all the local residents of Berea as well as the Baldwin Wallace college kids!! Truly a gem in Berea!

They have moved to 420 Bagley Road. Food was very tasty and large portions. General Tso had just the right amount of heat. Egg rolls were hot and crispy. Currently, you have to call or order online only. No dine in and no walk in orders.

In addition to noodles, the lunch special came with your choice of soup, a spring roll, or 2 crab rangoon. I opted for the crab rangoon. I also ordered 2 dim sum dishes - the shrimp dumplings ($6.50) and snow mountain lava buns ($6.50). The crab rangoon came out first, and they were delicious, hot, and crispy. Then I got the dan dan noodles. The noodles had a bit of a kick, but they weren't overwhelmingly spicy. They had a nice chew, and I slurped them up happily. I just wish there were more noodles lol, but the portions were pretty typical for dan dan noodles at Greater Cleveland restaurants. The dim sum was great. The shrimp dumplings were tender and juicy, and the buns were so fluffy. Be careful eating them though, or you might get hot, delicious egg goo all over your hands, lol. The staff is very no-nonsense. The service was efficient, and I made it in time for my Red Cross appointment. Note - the restrooms are super clean and even smell nice!

The fried rice tasted bland and greasy. Not even adding soy sauce helped. Worse of all the sweet and sour chicken was gross. It was chicken nuggets and the sweet and sour sauce was watered down. **This review is based on a pick-up order.**…read more I called in this order, and the lady who took the call was quick and polite. Plus, the order was correct, so she was accurate too. Always a good thing. The food, however, was a mixed bag. First, I ordered beef and snow peas (I asked for it to be spicy), and the dish was among the best I've had in a long time. The peas were crunchy; the beef was melty; and the sauce was rich -- and spicy, just as I requested. Because I don't eat a ton, I ordered the upgrade (to fried rice, wonton soup and an egg roll) to share. Meh. The broth was nice, but there really weren't wontons in it. Rather, they were ribbons of way overcooked pasta. Not a deal-breaker, but nothing memorable. The egg roll was the typical freezer-to-fryer variety. Not terrible, but hardly plump and definitely not rolled in-house like the good ol' days. Finally, the fried rice is missing something. Not only do I believe that it was never cooked in a wok, but it also had a scant flavor of sesame oil and little else. I'm not usually one to tell people how to do their business. This time is different though, since I am not the only one to mention the bland 'fried' rice here. Use some soy sauce. Use the wok -- and not the microwave. And perhaps, use an egg and a little garlic. But hey! These guys have been in business for a minute, so we 'fried' rice detractors must be in the minority. All of that to say, this place does an outstanding job with the beef and snow peas. But next time -- if there is a next time (I live in Houston) -- I'll ask for the steamed rice and dress it myself.

All warned of the spice levels being REAL. I heeded caution while my mouth is not weak. A must, I got pad thai with chicken (any thai place that messes this up gets written off for me), pad woon sen with chicken, both at the base level spice, and their crab rangoon. I will preface that I did takeout and drove 20 mins home before I ate BUT considering that the food, the food was still hot and delicious. The pad thai had plenty of flavor, fresh veggies and green onions and the right sauce-you could taste the tamarind. The pad woon sen, while not what I'm used to with a darker sauce was delicious and had great spice, perfect sauce to coat all the goods and flavor. The crab rangoon comes in a spring roll form...which I'm not mad at but did make me want more filling to match the extra wrapper. The wrapper is also a different type of fried crunch that doesn't do the same as a wonton but again a vehicle, nonetheless. I definitely have it on my radar for the next time I'm in Strongsville. Small place in an unsuspecting plaza, which is always good, very little tables inside and a little on the dark side ambiance wise. But I don't care when the food lives up to it. If you're looking for flavor, you can't go wrong even on the mild end of the spice spectrum. Don't burn your mouth and miss the chance at tasting the authenticity.
