They want to charge you $1 for this and the cashier tried to get smart and responded with a "yeah everything is expensive!" Sir, I think I know you just charged me $26 for a soup and egg rolls.

Driving back from LA to the Bay Area, we stopped at this little Chinese restaurant in Salinas. So hungry and tired. They served us warm green tea- so good for the dark winter night. We ordered a bunch of dishes, and the waiter was so kind to let us know the quantities are more. Yea that's right, big plates is it! Yummy comforting food. We all loved it, including the kids. We asked for water and no ice, got each a lemon wedge in our water glasses. The kids enjoyed their water too! Haha and of-course we still over ordered and packed up the leftovers into to-go boxes and now I'm enjoying my lunch at work! Thanks for the amazing comforting warm food. Happy New Year!

I wasn't expecting place to be that great. But it was actually pretty good!!! The food was fresh, the portions are generous, and the staff is friendly. I didn't like that they don't serve the soup anymore because of COVID, like really??? The BBQ pork wasn't the best I've ever had. Overall good though. I will go back to try something different.

This is one of my new favorite Chinese restaurants here in Salinas, I got egg rolls, pork fried rice (which was delicious!!!), and chicken chow mein pretty yummy! U have to try this place - and all the servers here were super nice.

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for years, never had any issues with placing to-go orders..prices are reasonable. Although since this is a review, I must say that the restaurant itself is in need of major remodeling. Old carpentry, rips in the seating etc.. unfortunately, my son found a hair in his food last night. We understand that stuff may happen like that once in every blue moon so we disregarded it and finished our dinner. Here I am the next day warming up leftovers and I found a piece of sharded metal maybe from a grill cleaner of some sort in my bbq pork fried rice and chicken chow mein. I can't even imagine ingesting it and getting ill from thier mistake. We will never ever, be back again. Please check your servings before eating from them for stuff like that.. horrible!

Good food only thing is that they take forever to make the food. Stay away from the shrimp it seems to taste old and bland

Then curiosity finally won. I arrived mid-afternoon to a surprisingly packed house--always a promising sign. As luck would have it, one table remained, and an older woman kindly waved me over to claim it. About five minutes later she returned with a place setting, menu, and the essential opening question: "What would you like to drink?" (Water, in my case.) Three minutes after that, a younger server zipped past, apologized for the brief wait, and efficiently took my order. I went with the Sweet & Sour Pork lunch special ($13.95), which came with an egg roll and fried rice. The portion was generous enough to qualify as both lunch and a future encore at home. The egg roll and fried rice were solid. The sweet and sour pork was decent--loaded with pineapple chunks, though curiously missing the usual bell peppers. The sauce leaned a bit enthusiastically toward the "sweet" side as well. Still, it was a filling meal and I ended up boxing half for later. Friendly service, hearty portions, and reasonable prices--three good reasons I'll likely return and give the rest of the menu a spin. Value: 4 out of 5 Atmosphere: noisy, 3 out of 5 Service: 4 out of 5 Bathroom: one unisex, so it's popular Verdict: 4 out of 5

Prices have increased by about $2-4 each item, which isn't too bad. Second thing we encountered was an additional charge on my friend's card. The receipt stated that it was $58. We used my friend's card for the food and had extra cash so we opted out of an on-card tip. When my friend received the charge, it was $70!!! We brought it to a staff members attention and were quickly shut down by the lady that charged us. She said that it's what banks do and that it would give us back what wasn't charged??? She said to come back next month with a bank statement to prove it was actually taken to get his refund, if needed. We sat there in awe being yelled at by the team so we kept our mouths shut and left. It was MY first time here (my friend said he and his family come often and order large amounts) and that they've never had problems. Although, he did say his family tends to pay in cash. Not sure if I'd come again because of this sticky interaction.

Today we decided let's give it another try after a good year or so away we were actually pleasantly surprised. We ordered the crab rangoons they were actually a bit too over cooked so this was a bit of a mis. Main dishes included sweet and sour pork the sauce was perfectly sour and sweet the pork was tender a tad over battered for my liking but crispy and fresh nevertheless. Cashew chicken was great tender pieces of chicken and zucchini and onions all sautéed in a delicious sauce topped with mounds of cashews. House fried rice was delicately fried with shrimp, chicken and beef and veggies complemented the main entrees well. Our service was pleasant and on top of refills and any other needs. The restaurant is a bit dated and in need of some tlc but overall clean.
