This place was great for years but now I don't know if they have changed hands or what but I got takeout, Broccoli and beef, and the beef was very cheap small cuts of fatty, grisel that was so chewy I had to spit it out. The brown gravy it was in tasted like that cheap Campbell's canned brown gravy. The broccoli was hard as a rock. Not cooked. The chicken fingers were horrible too. Overfried and also hard as a rock. Burnt on the ends. The strip of fake chicken inside, or whatever it was, was also hard as a rock. They have raised all of their prices, ALOT. Their dinner meals are little portions now, not like it was for years. They give you no rolls now. A tiny container of sweet and sour sauce. They are trying to go high class but are going to find out that it will not work in this place. I will never go back. I will find another place with better food and cheaper prices. It seems all of the low ratings are talking about the decor, but I actually love the decor and the atmosphere of this place. It is dark, but it's far from dirty and tacky. The low lights and the warm toned colors give it a really personal feel when you sit down to eat. Everytime I've been here, it's been very clean. The wait staff is fantastic and they do a wonderful job checking up on you and making sure you have everything you need throughout your meal. The food is typical Americanized Chinese food. It's good for what it is. Their lo mein is really tasty. Personally, I've never had my food overcooked or undercooked like some previous low raters have stated. It always comes out well seasoned and done correctly. Though their alcoholic drinks are *very* strong. Be warned if you order anything alcoholic off of their menu. Fair at best. Have given CJ three tries (actually liked it the first time) but took my family there after my initial meal and no one was able to finish their meal (except me). This is saying something as my two sons, ages 18 & 20, eat *everything*!! The shrimp in lobster sauce was only fair, and tonight's Gen Gao's chicken was stringy/cartilage? We used to eat at China Jade all the time but the food has gone way down hill. I got lunch today and am already feeling sick.

My husband and I have been going to China Jade since we were kids. We love that the campy atmosphere stays the same. The food is very good, standard Chinese. We've had a few iffy meals out of the very many we've eaten here. They serve wonderful hot tea, without you having to ask. The service is always fantastic. China Jade is not fancy or trendy, it is a good, reliable Chinese restaurant. read more

Always a stop when I'm in town from Boca Raton FL. So FL has the worst, thee worst Chinese it's such a joy to go back to the motherland and enjoy their Chinese food and a must the Pu Pu platter. 3/13 Had a craving for chicken fingers & chicken wings. I asked the guy for one favor... could he please have them make fresh chick wings? When they reheat them they get over-cooked & dry. He said that he "would do his best". Okay then. We'll I get them home & they are over-cooked and very dry! I called to complain, he said that he told me that he would do his best. Ha! He said that, If I don't like it that I should go some place else (he does have a good point). I asked to speak to the Manager & he said that "he is the manager"! He's the tall balding guy that has been there for at least 20 years & he's always been that pleasant! I hadn't been there for at least a year, now I remember why. It's dirty & the "manager" is rude. Had written off this place due to reheated tasteless food. Got a gift certificate, and made the mistake of going back, today. The man answering the phone was rude and abrupt, hung-up before I had completed my order. When I got there to pick up the food, this same man was irritated at having to leave the bar area, where he was obviously VERY comfortable, and when I asked about the remainder of my order, he screamed a me about the total (?), as I was not handing him payment quickly enough, I guess... When I suggested that this was out of the question, he denied what he had just done and said. He then elaborated that he was in a hurry and pointed back to the bar area...I told him that there were restaurants with much better food, and certainly better customer service. Will never go back, and suggest anyone who would rather not be harangued by alcoholic waitstaff, do not either. read more

My boyfriend and I ordered here on NYE and the food was not very good, i dont know if it was because of the holiday and it was so busy or if we just got some bad food. The chicken fingers were way over done you couldn't eat them, the rice was hard and cold, and the beef terriyaki was rubbery but the lo mein was good. This was my first experience eating here so I'm not sure if it is usually like this but I may try it again on a less busy night. read more

Awful... TERRIBLE...did I say Awful? Besides the location being stellar (behind a freaking GAS STATION)... this place really just well.. it blows. The fact that when you walk in there and it looks like something out of that 70's show, Their food always tastes like it has been frozen. The bread is ALWAYS stale, and some lady tried to fight me in the bar when I sent my drink back for not having ANY alcohol in it... I refuse to go back... Let me start off by saying, the decor is a bit 90's chic and the bar is dark, but underneath the frills is good quality "American" Chinese food. We have been going here for years and was always one of our favorites. Our last two visits have been horrible. On June 11, 2017 we were served pork strips that looked like they have been soaked in water perhaps to remove old smells and they were as dried up as wood. We could not eat them and told the waitress but still paid the $9.00 and found them in our to go bag. No-one at home would eat them either. Never ordered pad tai there before and would not recommend you try it. Tasteless and dry. Crab rangoons were very greasy and contained almost no filling. Ok, so the rice was good and chicken fingers were fine. Got home and spent a lot of time in the bathroom. That will be our last trip to China Jade. read more

The food at China Jade was the worse food that I ever ate in my entire life. I am in my 50s. It tasted as if they used dirty dish water as an ingredient. I did bring my food back but they would only give me half my money back because I did not bring all of it back even though we threw most of it away. I hate to give a bad review. But WTF?! This has to be the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The general tso chicken is dripping in some weird yellow sauce. I had about two bites and trashed it. You do get a lot of food with take out, the only issue is you don't want to eat any of it. read more

I've been eating here for years...... LOL. and the main reason is it's location. Very handy to get to from where I live. That atmosphere is family orientated with the deco, booths, and tables. They also have a separate bar area. We were seated at the end of what seemed to be a walk way as everyone had to pass our table to get in, get out, serve, etc. The waitress was too helpful, if she could spoon feed you she would've. My sister who sat on the opposite side of me kept receiving napkins from our waitress and she looked at me and asked if she were drooling or spilling. We laughed it off and tried to eat our meal which had finally arrived. We each had separate dinner plates ordered off their dinner menu. I got chicken fingers, ribs, ragoons and pork fried rice. The rice was dry and blah, the chicken finger very crunchy and dried. The ragoons tasted bitter and sour. But the beef teryaki was ok, a little chewy. And mean while.... lol.. our waitress is taking plates out from under us, hovering over like a mother hen. She practically took the spoon out of my sisters mouth to take her soup. My sister grabbed her bowl of soup and said she wasn't finished. The waitress smiled and stepped back. We had to fight her off. I didn't like how she (waitress) was clearing the table while we were trying to eat. And I'm not sure why she was so eager to move us, it wasn't like there was a line waiting for out table. But she sure was in a hurry. One customer from another table took his check to the register to pay, she said she'd take it and he told her "no I'll take it up". I'm sure he had some things to say to the manager as his table was receiving the same treatment. Anyway, we had a good time among ourselves. China Jade was a BIG step up from the last Chinese place I tried in Beverly. The service was good, the food tasted fresh, and the cocktails were nice and potent. What more can you ask for? The menu is unnecessarily huge, but I guess it's good to have options. There's over ten types of fried rice, ten types of chow mein, ten types of chop suey...you get the idea. I was a fan of the sesame and ginger chicken, not overly breaded like you get at some places, and the peking raviolis were fried perfectly. The restaurant doesn't look like it's been updated since the 70's, but that only adds charm. The interior is done in a delightfully hideous green and I absolutely love the neon sign on the roof with the little man whose arm moves up and down as he scoops soup from a bowl. The one drawback here is that I don't think they do delivery, but I prefer to go pick it up anyways. That way you can throw back a mai tai while you wait! read more

Dark depressing decor, poor to mediocre food. The pad thai was absolutely terrible (and I'm not awfully picky about pad thai!). The chinese food I've tried was not very tasty, and not fresh. China Jade is one of the best Chinese food restaurants/take outs in the area. The food has never been dry, bland, or too greasy and the service has always been great. I'm fairly new to this place so it may be why i don't like it but i've had much better chinese food even in beverly. Last time i went there with my buddys when i walked in they gave us a funny look and we began to feel uneasy and awkward. After a minute though we were sat down at a table by a grumpy looking old man. When i began to order a new waiter came over though and was much better and efficent. The food i had (Beef Teriyaki, Chicken Wings, and Boneless SpareRibs) were average chinese food. Not bad not great but in the middle. I also got a beer and a Mai Tai which actually turned out not bad. The place is not bad but it got two stars based on the average price, average food, good drinks, and bad service. Give it a try if it's past midnight and you need a drink and something to munch on and your close by. read more

This is the best spot around for decent food, potent drinks and first-class people watching. The staff is fantastic, especially Emily! If you're looking for a fine dining Chinese food experience, go over-priced, pretentious Su Changs. The Jade doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. The decor is dated, but who cares?
