I've been to this restaurant several times now but I never got the chance to review it. I would have probably given it 3 stars before, however they've gotten better with their food and variety that I can say that this is probably the best China Buffet in Clarksville. They have all sorts of food, as well as pizza and chicken nuggets for those picky eaters. There's a sushi bar and a grill where you pick ingredients and they cook it for you. Went on a Sunday. It was rather busy but the food was always full and fresh. The servers were attentive and quickly removed empty plates and refilled drinks. They have a mongolian grill and a lot of other foods. Ofcourse some non-Asian options such as pizza. The only thing we didn't really like was the sushi. Okay folks, I admit, I'm notorious for not leaving reviews. Especially good ones. In fact, I have not left one Nashville review. And there are some good ones. That said, I feel compelled to leave a few comments about this establishment located in Clarksville, just north of the Ponderosa. Scene Hanging out with some friends who are stationed at the nearby base. Location It is part of s strip mall next to a Kroger. It is easy to find and plenty of parking for all. Atmosphere This place is an absolute circus. I got it, it's very busy on a Saturday, but let's get some crowd control or something going please. It was pure pandemonium. It was loud and distracting. Service They hostess was very nice. After that, not much can be said. Maybe they don't have to care since they are one of few restaurants on that side of town. Whatever the case, the front desk ignored me for a clean 10 minutes. My call-in order was lost and the buffet had very meager offerings. Food The buffet was crowded and a lot of food seemed over-cooked or just not rotated in a timely manner. The sushi bar was busy, but not too bad in variety. Kudos to the sushi chef. Same goes for the cook on the grill for custom orders. He had a long as long as the Mississippi, but he was cooking like a champ. The only caveat is there was no shrimp, just fake crap meat. Drama I got it, the guy wanted to pay with a credit card that would not go through. Does it take both husband and wife to tackle this issue? It brought everything else to a halt while they called the police. Handle your business, but remember you have other customers that are there, right in front of you. Price The dinner buffet is $5.69/lb. keep that in mind when making a to-go order. The little plastic tubs are $1.50 each. These prices are as of today, 20 February 2016. Not the best or the worst. Every military town has Chinese buffets and this is the best we've found in Clarksville so far. We've tried here and New China Buffet near Exit 11. The meats here tasted higher quality than New China Buffet. They have a pretty good selection. Lots of people go and seem to eat the crab legs all night long. Their desserts are kind of lacking and of course the sushi isn't the highest quality, but its pretty good overall. The service is usually pretty good, fast and efficient cleaning up used plates, filling up drinks, etc. The biggest draw back is the price. Don't get me wrong, the buffet is pretty decent, but $12.99 for adults and $8.99 for our elementary age son is a little steep for the quality of the restaurant. I guess that's just a product of the fact that they are the best in town, even if the best isn't awesome. read more

This is our favorite restaurant in Clarksville, bar none, and the best Chinese Buffet in this whole area. The food is always fresh and always the right temperature. The selection is very good, and includes some other fare (American as well as Korean and Japanese). The service is outstanding - VERY fast removing your used plates and re-filling your drinks. The sushi is always fresh, the Wasabi is sharp, the presentation is artistic. The Grill is properly done, ingredients always fresh, and spicing exactly to order. The prices are outstanding for this quality; my wife and I eat lunch on weekdays, with drinks, for less than $23. Every server, seater and cashier is very friendly and very efficient. The only negative I can say about this place is that it is located an hours drive from where I live! read more

First time here with my husband and my baby boy...I admit I was very skeptical at first due to reviews but I'm glad we stopped by for lunch/dinner. The outside isn't all that special....as we were walking inside the buffet...the decor looked outdated...a little old but it's ok...I enjoy their food...everything that I got on my plate was hot and steamy...like it's fresh food...I like their peppered chicken and mayonnaise grilled green mussels a lot...it's delicious...they have AYCE crab legs available and for the price I was very surprised....it's affordable and isn't expensive as all. Advice: please steam crab legs few minutes longer because there was 2 cluster of crab legs that was still a bit cold according to my husband...other then that my first experience was good... I went on a recommendation and I'm not sure I'll go back. Didn't try the crab or seafood. Meat was just "ok" quality. I also appreciate sushi - sloppily made or not - it hit the spot. Paying $12.99 was a bit steep for the area - and for the food. 10 miles up the road lunch buffet is only $5.99. We didn't even order drinks and walked out paying $30 with tax and tip. First and.....last time in. Food tasted like it was sitting all day and very bland. Got sick after I got home and it wasn't good. At the end of the meal, I thought I'd get a some ice cream until I saw how you had to get it. You actually do the scooping from the big ice cream container. It had been two years since we dined here. The quality has really gone down. They used to have crab legs on the buffet. Now they are $1.49 extra per cluster. We have been here on a regular basis for about the last year. It has always been a little pricey, but they do also offer sushi. The sushi is good for a buffet. However the few times we have been there the food has been sub par and the waiters/waitresses have been to the point of rude trying to collect plates that you really have had time to even finish. They also bring your ticket often before you are finished eating and come back trying to collect it before you have finished eating or began to get your method of payment out. They are like vultures, and it is not enjoyable. Tonight there was a nauseating smell back near the backside of the buffet and then while we were trying to eat (and they had sat us near the waiters/waitress station)they brought out "clean cups" and were changing out something that had the same nauseating smell so bad that it ruined both my son and my appetite and we were unable to Finish our meal. I regret not asking for a manger and/or just getting up and leaving. We will not be back. read more

It had been a long time since I had been to a "chinese" buffet and was really craving some of everything. So I went to yelp. And this place popped up as we know there aren't many any way to chose from so figured why not give it a shoot. We arrived a little before they opened so we sit and waited and noticed people already going in. So what's the saying if you can't beat them join them so we walked right on in. Was immediately greeted and seated. Grabbed my plate and went to see what this place had to offer. Let me tell ya I was not let down. Anything and everything I could possibly want they had. And it was all fresh and delicious. I won't lie I went back for a couple more plate fulls just to make sure it was as good as the first you know. And after I thought I couldn't eat anymore I knew that no meal was complete without dessert so back to the bar I went. I would suggest get there early as it does seem to start getting busy not long after they open. Will I be back heck yeah! Used to be our fav restaurant. But last time we went there they charge my 3 yo and 4yo kids full price. They don't even eat that much other than fried rice. Very dissapointed. Went here for lunch with a former coworker a couple weeks ago and absolutely zero complaints. Typical selection of Chinese buffet foods, but the quality, temperature, and availability were excellent. On Tuesday, October 21 at 7:30 PM a friend of mine called China King buffet to inquire about the time that the business establishment closed. The owner mentioned that they did not close until 10:00 PM and that they would be putting fresh food out until then. We arrived at 8:20 PM got seated and took our first trip to the buffet. None of the food was fresh so we asked management if they would put out fresh food. Crab legs in particular. After eating two plates of crab legs and a few other food items from the buffet, the waiter at 9:15 took our silverware and brought the check without us asking. We visited the buffet once more but the business establishment had taken up most of the food by 9:25. We asked once more do you actually close at 10 PM? They all replied yes however the server never brought anything else to the table such as drinks or additional silverware we had to request it. By 9:30 we decided to pay and once the waitress took our payment she returned with the receipt she said and I quote, "my boss, owner says you are no longer welcome here". Confused we asked to speak to this boss to inquire as to why we were no longer allowed to return to a business we have frequented since 2008. The waitress told us that she had gone home for the evening, however being a business owner myself I knew the owner by recognition and called her over as she tried to rush out of the door. We asked her what was going on? She said and I quote "you people come here and we have all of this different food on buffet and you only eat one thing from the buffet", I replied we actually ate many different items from the buffet however you cannot micromanage the items that a customer eats from an all-you-can-eat buffet, nor is it legal for you to tell the consumer that they are not welcome to come back because they enjoy a particular item". She responded " and you people like to come here during the lunch buffet and you don't want to pay the dinner price" (Being that we arrived at 8:20 PM we were well aware of the dinner price and did not have a problem paying what we owed.) Again, we were extremely confused. I explained to the owner you cannot advertise that you close at 10 PM if your kitchen closes at 9:30 PM and you don't have it anywhere on your business establishment. She responded "you people come here and eat all of my crab legs and I have all this other food you could eat, and you have never been here before" I then explained to the business owner that I I had been a frequent customer since 2008 and would be contacting the BBB. read more

Welcome to the epitome of the bait and switch restaurant. Coupon in large print says $3 off two adult buffets. Ordered two buffets with no drinks. A true display of trough feeding. On Friday night, they raise the price because they have crab legs. Good luck ever getting any. People hover around the area ready to pounce when a new batch comes out of the kitchen and that load quickly fills the plate of the over-eaters club. We skipped the crab legs, obviously. The skimpy portions are not worth the wait. We found other items on the buffet and mediocre sushi bar. When we presented the coupon, we were told we had to pay for drinks: $3.90 extra for a $3 discount. My lady ordered the drinks before knowing the deal. Wait, there was still my senior discount of 10%. Sorry, since we took the bait and switch deal, that was not an option. And, yes, the management and staff were extremely rude. Never going back. Pretty good buffet. $13 for all you can eat seafood is a bargain. I go mainly here for the crab legs, mussels and squid salad which are delicious.
