So...ordered delivery the other night. Very fast, as usual. But the highlight was the food! The Chicken Skewers had large, meaty slabs of chicken in a light but very tasty sauce. The Tempura Appetizer tasted just like it should. And the ribs appetizer was sweet and bar-b- quey. And each item was less than $10.00. With a $4.00 tip and a very reasonable delivery charge, I had easily a meal and a half of delicious, out of the ordinary treats brought to my door for $35.00. That's about as good as it gets in this day and age, and I have ordered these same type of items from other Asian places in the area, and been less impressed. Jay Asian Bistro has become my sushi go-to in a world of many, many sushi places. The quality + variety + pricing make it a no-brainer. All of their sushi is solid quality. I love the buy 1, get 1 roll deal. You really cannot beat that. I love that they have a full Japanese, Chinese, and Thai kitchen. That makes it really easy to make sure everyone in the house is happy with the dinner choice. Their website can be a little finicking with the buy 1, get 1 but its also easy enough to give them a call. They handle their own delivery, which has always been timely and accurate. I was in the mood for sushi and since we are all quarantined, I went online to find a place near me that I can order from and pick up. Jay Asian was available for pick-up and I picked them because my younger son doesn't eat sushi but loves lo mein and they had it on their menu. I ordered sushi, combo meals and lo mein. So glad we discovered Jay's which is super close to home. It's our go-to for fast, inexpensive, good Asian food. We love the variety that they offer and have enjoyed everything we've gotten. The noodle dishes are delicious but sometimes can be a bit oily (like the pad see ew and drunken noodles), though I don't really mind that. They're always flavorful, packed with veggies, but never spicy so definitely ask for spice if you want your noodles to have a kick. They're huge portions and are always at least 2 meals for me! We also love the prices, and always use the BOGO sushi deals. The sweet potato roll is a family favorite of ours, and I recently discovered the oshinko avocado roll which was a pleasant surprise and is now one of my go-to's. Their curry dishes are also delicious. They're always packed full of veggies, come with a large portion of rice, and have a great flavor. Overall it's not the absolute best Asian food in the world, but it's quickly become our top choice. 5/5 regarding quality, price, portion sizes, and convenience! read more

3.5 I have a standing Wednesday dinner date and we try to pick different places to try each week. This week I was feeling a bit iffy with a cold coming on, so we decided on take-out. I ordered the coconut curry soup with chicken, which was stated on my receipt but when I got home, it turned out to have shrimp instead. Just like Leo Getz says in Lethal Weapon 2, "Don't ever go through the drive through. They always F*CK you at the drive through!" I was ok with that in the long run but bottom line, the soup to me tasted a little thin. The spiciness helped clear my nostrils though. I also got the tempura platter. We tried the Yummy Roll and the White House Roll, the sushi rice is a awesome texture and the fish isn't oily and does not have a weird after taste. We also had 2 spicy tuna rolls and 2 salmon avocado rolls. The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer is amazing! Normally bang bang shrimp are fried, which is ok but really heavy. This place grills their shrimp on skewers and gives the bang bang sauce as a mayo dip. Its a fresher flavor and works really well! On our previous we have gotten fried rice, dumplings, ramen ext. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be ordering from here again. This place is very similar to that really good corner mom and pop deli where they have a huge menu but bang out the dishes on it deliciously while also not breaking your bank. Not good sushi and sashimi. We ordered delivery. There were no problems with the service but the food was not worth it. Sashimi was cut into gigantic pieces and was barely able to fit into my mouth. The fish also seemed like it was completely unseasoned. Sushi had an odd taste to it, almost like they put splenda or something on it. Super weird and not something that I have ever tasted on sushi before. I couldn't finish it and I can't remember the last time that I didn't finish sushi that's wasn't an all you can eat place. Here I am, two hours later, my card has been charged and my food still isn't here. I continue to try calling and the phone is not even connecting to the restaurant. I called around 9 pm (I ordered at 6) and got through, and am was asked if I could come pick up my order. No, please refund my money three hours later. The lady tells me someone called me. No they didn't. I call back Saturday as my card was still charged, and I wanted a refund that I deserved. I was screamed at and told that they were too busy to speak to me. Screamed at. Told never to order from here again? I'm sorry, you never delivered my order and are yelling at me because I want my money back? So the lady that screamed at me hangs up on me (very professional establishment here) and when I call back, I'm transferred to a child. Obviously there is nothing the child can do for me. I just want a refund. Why is this so hard? I ask to speak with the owner, and was told that they were too busy. I understand you're busy, but you need to refund the money you took from me. Cut to Sunday. The third day of asking for my money back. The same unpleasant screamer asks me five times where I ordered from. The kicker is that I ordered through their website. Starts screaming again "what do you want!!!" Ma'am, I want you to refund my money. Then some guy gets on the phone, and tells me not to order from them again. Lol!! This was my first time ordering and I certainly will not order from them again. We have ordered from Jay Asian for years and is our go-to Chinese/Thai takeout place. We always order the Wonton Soup - lovely, soft pork dumplings in a flavored broth. Beef and broccoli, General Tso's chicken, pork lo mein are typically on our list. We also have the sushi - buy one, get one free is a sweet deal. We have also tried the currys and other items. Just wish they had shrimp toast! My girlfriend joined us once and every time she comes over she says wants to order from here. We have never had an issue with delivery. Often, if there is a question on the order, we get a call from them. We order online thru their link vs. GrubHub, etc. My only complaint is that I place notes that I do not want any cutlery, soy sauce, etc. but it still comes with the order. I'm sorry to say that the quality of the General Tso's chicken has plummeted. In my first review I remembered being highly satisfied with the large chunks of what appeared to be all white-meat chicken that was lightly breaded and tender to bite into. The General Tso's from our past three orders have been a major disappointment. The chicken is over-breaded and not all white meat. In fact, some bites were so tough, they couldn't be cut with a knife or chewed. I truly hope something changes and they can go back to their winning recipe. If not, we will be on the lookout for a new place for Chinese takeout. I must note that with the exception of the General Tso's chicken, the other items in our regular order have been enjoyable. They include old standbys like egg rolls, dumplings, chicken or pork lo-mein, Singapore noodles and possibly some others that I have failed to review. read more

I had a terrible experience after ordering from Jay's for 2 years. The food took over an hour and a half to arrive, when we were told 30-40 mins. We were rushed off the phone rudely when we called. When the food arrived it was ICE cold. I called back and requested a refund and was told that they would have to take the food back in order to give me a refund! We liked Jay's. Our issue, and every single person we ever order or go with has the same complaint, the buy 1 get 1 sushi. It's a SCAM. We order two rolls by person and let them know. We order a couple cali rolls for the kids as appetizer. They will never take off the free roll for the person - they will revert to anything that is sushi. Then you get the bill if you are paying your own way and there is no discount - or it's $5 on a $12 roll. If you are going to offer a buy 1 get 1, do it legit like everyone else. It's so annoying and for people the routinely will spend $100 or more dollars, us and all our friends we have bought will just not order from there anymore. Good food, just buyer beware. read more

I sometimes go into my office on a Saturday and thanks to GrubHub - I have ordered delivery from Jay's roughly five or six times. The food has always been completely to my liking. spicy, crispy, yummy, flavorful in every way. As a 20 year vegetarian I appreciate the meat free choices. I've had spring rolls, fried veg dumplings, the Chinese pizza and General Tso's Tofu - extra, extra, extra spicy. Everything was cooked to perfection and delivered piping hot. Always on the hunt for a restaurant that has high quality sushi and a Chinese menu for the kids. The sushi was fresh and delicious but, as odd as it sounds, it was small. Almost like the mini rolls you see at the sushi buffets sometimes. Chinese food was also very good but shared the same drawback in portion size. We paid 10-15% more for the exact same order from Bamboo in Haddon Township and it was a lot less food. American style Chinese food always seems to leave you hungry 20 minutes after eating but we didn't even make it that long with these portion sizes:). read more

Although on the plus side, the service is very good and the food comes to the table hot and fresh. We stuck with Thai theme and were pleasantly surprised. Chicken Satay, usually an appetizer, but came to the table last and worth the wait. Four big pieces of perfectly cooked chicken with a peanut sauce. Basil Fried Rice Chicken. I asked if it was spicy and they said yes, but not really. My only complaint was it wasn't spicy enough. Some hot oil fixed it. Pad Thai was not the best I have ever had, but very far from the worst. I wish there was some tofu in it. My favorite pad thai is from Thai Village in Princeton. Pad See Yew was also a little different from most Thai places but I really liked the differences. They do something with their chicken that I can't pin down but is probably the best chicken I have ever had in Thai dishes. To wrap up, I would come back without a doubt.
