Man from outside of strip mall I wasn't expecting much but as I entered and waited in line , I know this place was going to be good. First the price is really cheap and great deal. This place is pretty big and was full house tonight. Came here for deep fried soft shell crabs it's awesome. You eat it with shell and all crispy and soft inside with nice seasoning. The spicy sushi rolls were good too, someone is making them in front of you nice. Taste as good as sushi shop. Some items were ok but those two things stood out to me. Man this place was pack for Saturday night. Will be returning soon. Try it out. read more

Been coming here the 3 years. Super every time. Have the Hot and Sour soup for sure! Best Hot and Sour Soup I've ever had. The folks that gave it less than a 5 star don't eat much. Best in the area by far, especially for a buffet. read more

I never write reviews, but I had to post this. I took my family out after church today and was extremely disgusted by our experience. My daughter first found a hair in her sesame chicken, which I know can happen anywhere but was nonetheless unappealing. However, what caused us to lose our appetite completely was when the waiter brought us a stack of napkins, and in the middle of those napkins was a dirty, used napkin. Then, we watched another waiter pick up the remaining unused silverware (still wrapped in their napkin) from a table beside us that just left and then take them to the front to be returned to the tub to be redistributed to the next family. How this place passes its health inspection is beyond me. Needless to say, we will never be back! read more

I prefer taking out than dining in here. Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty packed. Still got seated quickly. Wasn't surprised the desserts section was messy due to unattended kids just serving themselves. Ice cream machine look pretty worn too The bathroom was a mess! If I could have I would've held it. So for those reasons I would rather just take out. Lots of choices though., from the basics like chow mein, rice, orange chicken, broccoli beef to seafood (which I don't eat) but there was crab and fried shrimp, cocktail shrimp and maybe some other type. Their selection is eeeh. My husband gets one thing from there and that's it but me I eat just about everything. Bathrooms are clean. The wait staff doesn't really interact with the customers. And they are always crowded. I usually want a booth but they never ask so we end up at a table. I got a lot of kids I don't want them to get up. They are expensive for just 2 plates of food. Not worth dying for. When Govonors order for social distancing went out they were pretty good about enforcing it. They are lax now and leave it to patrons. We had to defend ourselves when two college students blew past us in line, A line where we were first , waited by x 5 mins at that time for someone to assist us in filling our plates 8/29/20 approx 2 pm . A slow time for most, but restaurant still fairly busy here. A young man was watching behind Sushi station,people bringing food out but no one helped us in line.The college students then walked behind us, by about 2 feet despite the large sign and tape indicating 6 feet distancing ORDERED by TX Governor. I waited as the young man watched the scene X 2-3 min then I turned and asked the young pair to please back up,keep 6 feet between us. My husband and I are elderly, I let her know I am a practicing nurse, this was as much for her safety as mine . In am safe so this was not needed, wanted them to understand risking their own lives with behaviors as well. They seemed self centered. One got it, the one wearing the mask, the other girl scowled but complied briefly. She was not wearing a mask and NO ONE working IN RESTAURANT endorsed the GOVERNORS ORDER!!! This young man could see the tensions and came from behind the Sushi station and began serving us. Sadly, another girl came right behind him and stood less than 6 feet from us serving the girls behind us, practically giving them permission to close the gap. It was clear the basic rice and noodles should be placed 1st as the problem was exponentially unpredictable when we had rice and noodles placed 1st and had to back up for the main ingredient on top. If my 65 yr old husband or myself get this disease I will come after this establishment for it. Did I mention, I am a nurse but work private duty and have had no exposures due to tight compliance as I serve an immunocompromised pt. I had to disclose the exposure and this has further impacted my ability to ensure safety for my clients. China King gets a ZERO for compliance with Govonors mask and social distancing ORDERS. My first time here today and was very good. I tried some new foods here. The whole BBQ fish was actually real good. Did not inspected every selection available here, but there were lots of choices. Great service with hot tea drink. Nice setting and seating arrangement totally. Televisions going with several selections on. Nice. Gaaah!! The Health Department in Tyler NEEDS to shut this place down! The images on the plates are scraping off (i.e. you will most likely eat plate decor particles), the food is undercooked and rather disgusting, like they may not have even been able to get the directions on the frozen food box right to put it out. And our waitress was more interested in the single guy sitting in her section and talking with the to-go-orders woman at the back counter, than to bother with any of her other tables. read more

Well, the food is ok, but I went for a to-go buffet and it comes with a soup cup...... they didn't have wanton soup , which is the only one I like..... so I put a bit of fruit and pudding in the small " bowl " they charged me extra $2.50 !!!!!!!!!! I come here when I crave Chinese food. The food is not good but is tolerable. The lo mein is the only dish that is decent. The chicken was very disappointing. The general tsao & sesame chicken had more crust than chicken. The flavor was decent. Some of their desserts are good. The place smells terrible. I and a friend went there tonight, and I can't believe they even call that food. It's more like crap with very little flavor. The chinese drive thru would have been better, and way much cheaper. I've been to multiple Chinese buffets but this is the best one I've ever been too. Each time I went here, I've never had a problem with the food. They have a large selection but a lot of the selection is not authentic to China. The bathrooms also stink very badly, so I would recommend sitting near to the front on the restaurant. We eat here rarely. We prefer the one in Whitehouse. But on this visit we were sit promptly and greeted immediately with waitress. We went to buffet place and got out food. They were out of a lot stuff but it was lunch and there were a lot of people in. We started eating and it was ok. Every think pretty much taste the same. Man, where to begin describing this restaurant! So we moved to Tyler in October 2016. This was one of the first places we tried. My family and I absolutely loved it! They have sushi, an ice cream machine, a fruit bar and lots of amazing lunch and dinner options. This buffet is super delicious and beats China Cafe. They recently remodeled the floors, the bathrooms, the set up of the buffet and sushi bar too. They even added in some flat screen TVs. I'm very impressed. They closed for about a month and when we went back this past Saturday... I WAS TRULY AMAZED! Not to mention it was very packed! All of the servers are friendly and they already know us as loyal clients. I highly recommend coming if you love Chinese food! Hopefully in the near future they add in a grill. read more

This has been my favorite Chinese restaurant in Tyler for about 7-9 years. I have never sat in the area where they have booths due to having a party of 6 people, but when it was just me, my older sister, and her daughter. We decided to ask for a booth this time. The hostess there seems like she's always in a bad attitude and greets with bad vibes. Overall, my favorite waiter is Jaiden, he's an attentive sweet server. Made sure we had everything, asked if everything is okay, refilled our drinks and removed dirty plates, and gave a positive attitude! The food is amazing with a huge variety of food to eat and they also did a great job on remodeling the restaurant. I highly recommend coming here! Worth the money! read more

Not very impressive. Most of the entrees were bland and without flavor. The sushi was especially bland due to the lack of vinegar in the rice that lessens the overpowering taste of the other ingredients. My advice is drive a few extra miles to the China Cafe. It might be a dollar more in cost, but your taste buds will thank you. read more
