Tossing 2 whole orders of Bourbon Chicken right in the trash! Not even edible.

If only I could give it one star. Egg rolls, Crab Ragoon, & The bourbon chicken. Worst chinese food I've EVER had. DISGUSTING.

Mongolian Beef with plain fried rice and egg drop soup.

Very quickly prepared. Egg Drop soup was perfect to me with no veggies. It did need a good bit of salt but your tastes will vary. The Mongolian Beef was also what I'm use to with a very pleasant sauce, beef, white and green onions no extra junk some places add. The fried rice was my least favorite as I'm not a fan of the yellow rice but for what it was it got the job done. Would recommend steamed rice, however it was nice that you can order it with or without veggies.

You order at the food truck, grab a picnic table under the trees, and wait while everything is cooked fresh. The sign says, "Be patient. Be kind." Trust me, it's worth both. The smoked wahoo dip disappeared embarrassingly fast. Creamy, smoky, and packed with flavor. The blackened grouper sandwich was the star of the show. Perfectly seasoned, flaky, moist, and piled high on toasted bread with fresh toppings. The soft shell crab sandwich was crispy, sweet, and one of those meals that requires extra napkins and zero shame. Even the roasted broccoli was charred just right. Come for the seafood. Stay for the quirky atmosphere. Leave wondering why you've waited so long to eat here.

There's plenty of umbrellaed tables and picnic tables. They have a full menu of apps, seafood, and burgers. Their whole fried snapper is one of our favorite fish, and Hookin' serves a generous serving, perfectly tender and sweet, in a light crispy layer of coating, on a regular soft bun, with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Their Fried Wahoo is also well-prepared. We got fried, and it was tender and fresh. Both fish came with a heaping serving of hot crispy fries. You could also get either fish blackened, and you could add various veggies as sides. We ordered our food and also picked it up ourselves at the bar. Hookin' can get crowded, especially when they have a live musician, and parking can get pretty tight. It's just off I-275 at 22nd St, in St. Pete Fl east of Gulfport. They keep their social media pretty up-to-date, but we didn't track down a "regular" webpage.

I'll lead with my concluding comment from my dinner last night: "I think this is the best snapper…read moreI've ever eaten." (As a Florida resident, I've had quite a lot!) Snappers was packed at 6:30pm on a Tuesday night. However, as it was late July, we were able to get a table outside right away. There are fans to help with the heat, and it's well ventilated so there was a nice breeze. Our server was prompt and friendly. The menu was seafood with an Asian flair. We started with the crab stuffed portobello (probably the weakest part of the meal) and delicious coconut shrimp. After that, our entrees came with salads, which were also great (tortilla chips and a zesty dressing made it more fun than your usual house salad, but it didn't feel too decadent). I got the snapper, which was served over coconut rice and with a delicious curry sauce and mango chutney. The curry reminded me more of thinner Japanese curry versus Indian or Thai, which I loved. The snapper itself was a nicely-sized piece and was cooked/seasoned perfectly with a hint of spice. The coconut sticky rice was so addictive!! The sweetness of the mango chutney just made each bite a wonderful flavor explosion. I would 100% recommend this dish. My husband got the coconut cashew crusted mahi, which was also excellent (and another huge portion of fish). It seems like you can't go wrong here with a fish dish!

What we got: *Mango Meltdown - A frozen drink of mango and strawberry flavors, so refreshing on a warm day at a waterfront restaurant! *Category 5 Crab Tots - neither of us really eat tater tots, but this menu item sounded too good to pass up. I'm glad we went with it because it was hearty and flavorful with all the tots, cheese, and lots of crab! *Crab Cakes - really good crab cakes, with plenty of crab. *Twisted Cauliflower - our server warned us these would be spicy, but we were okay with that. They definitely had a kick from thai sauce and hot honey, but nothing that made it uncomfortable to eat, the right amount of spice. We had ours grilled, and enjoyed every bite. Needless to say, we ordered a fantastic meal of appetizers to split while enjoying the waterfront view on a beautiful day. If you are in the area, I highly recommend!

I came here with my husband and parents to celebrate my mom's birthday/wedding anniversary. We started with oysters, lobster escargot and french onion soup. I loved the oysters and soup, but the lobster escargot didn't do it for me; tasted sort of bland and boring, but mom loved it! For my entree, I ordered the filet mignon, medium-rare. It was cooked correctly but I felt like it didn't have that "filet-mignon-juiciness-flavor" I'm looking for. It was decent, but I've had others I liked better. For our sides, we shared the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. They were both very good but seemed average for a high-end restaurant. They gave my parents slices of chocolate cake for dessert to celebrate the occasion. I usually never comment on service as I like to stay focused on the food, but our server was exceptionally professional, personable and attentive; my husband and I wanted to be friends with him, LOL. The service was 10/10! Overall, our meals were solid and we all had a great time here. I would definitely recommend checking it out for a special occasion! ;)
