Don't judge this book by its cover. China Moon is a great option for dinner on the go and it's easy on the wallet. The day after New Years, I was over cooking and cleaning a million pots and pans, so Chinese take-out to the rescue! We ordered a ton of food with the sesame chicken and the beef/veggie platter being the standouts. Each meal comes with a side of rice, so be-careful when ordering extra rice, because you might end up with 4 extra sides of rice like we did. Beyond plain white rice they offer chow mein, Lo mein and of course fried rice. The chicken chow mein was our choice and it was amazing! The portions here are huge and four plates of food could easily feed five-six adults. We ordered orange chicken, sesame chicken, beef, veggies and chow mein. With tip all of it was just over $50 and we had leftovers for a few days!

From the outside you wouldn't think to go here but they do have some great lunch specials and decent food. For a quick lunch nearby this place is pretty good. I probably wouldn't come for dinner but the lunches are a great value and a lot of food. Our favorites were the lo mein and chicken with mixed veggies. They are very fast when you call in a pick up order. Since Covid you can't eat inside, it is pick up only.

This is as fast as it gets! I like that you can see straight into the kitchen and they have great big menus for you to circle your order on if needed. (Yes, have a Swedish person ordering from a Chinese lady both struggling with how to pronounce stuff that might be needed) A lot of guests order ahead for pick up too. The place itself is not really nice, it actually looks like a real, real Chinese restaurant. Spartan, torn seats and simple chairs, so I just bring my stuff home. Service is extremely fast, chop, chop and it's all ready to go! I always have been given good food, always get everything I order and the portions are big too. I always ask for extra spicy, that still doesn't make it Nashville hot, but at least lift it a little.

I've posted about Chinese food places before, and while I still think Chinese food in Nashville has a long way to go, China Moon is the best of what we've got in Mt. Juliet. It is certainly not worth traveling to come, as it is mostly take out and not worth an extra trip, but for local take out it is passable! The fried rice is delicious. And the spare ribs are tasty. My husband gets the chicken dishes and they are good. We once picked up a very large order for my extended family, and they threw in some sodas for free. The party trays are not on the menu, but I posted a photo of the options and prices below. This is my go to take out cocínese spot, and I do go back often!

With a 4.77 aggregate rating across all user-driven platforms and nearly 1,700 reviews to date, Krustaceans is much better on paper than it is in reality, a very overrated restaurant! As the highest-rated seafood joint on the entirety of Highway 70 across the America, it simply did not live up to the hype as I passed through Nashville. Perhaps I should have ordered crab or shrimp or some other boiled seafood which seems to be more of their specialty. But the fish and chips caught my attention. Beware, these aren't the fish and chips you'll find in the UK or the Northeastern United States. Instead of a crisp, beer-battered exterior, this is more like a catfish breading. And it's not bad, but it's just very different than the name would imply. The batter is probably too salty, but the fish is very fresh! The Cajun fries are horribly mediocre. They're definitely just frozen fries from a local supermarket with an uninspiring spice mix. The employees didn't seem very welcoming either, which was kind of sad since I was excited to be there. It's not a bad meal at all, but the ratings are way higher than they should be! If you're haphazardly shelling out five-star reviews, you've probably never had real seafood on the coast and have only inflated the truth for online viewers. Don't expect too much out of Krustaceans, hope for a decent meal, and you won't be disappointed.

Here's why I like all sorts of hashes and skillets as my preferred breakfast vehicle. As you know,…read moreI love eggs. I think a perfect egg is like the star of any breakfast and is definitely the headliner/closer of any perfect entree. But I also think good hash browns are the foundation any breakfast is built on. If the potatoes are off--too crunchy, sliced or shredded too big, bad seasoning, &c--the eggs often can't save it. That's why any dish built on the premise of potatoes on the bottom and eggs on top is the ideal dish for me. Paper Mill has a good skillet plate. The potatoes are chunky but not overly so. The sausage and ham are plentiful--definitely no skimping here. The veggies lend a good flavor but don't overstay their welcome. That sauce complements everything well. And my eggs were great. Once mixed it was perfect. I think the only complaint I have of the service was the coffee refills were a bit slow. I'm used to servers coming by and asking for a refill. This time we noticed I was a perfect four for four with having to ask for a refill. Combine that with their policy of not providing coffee to go and it was kind of disappointing. The coffee on the ride back to the hotel is a time-honored vacation tradition. The ambience was good. It was very welcoming. Even if we were sat at a high table, which is normally a deal breaker, this time wasn't so bad. I like the dim lighting. That's normally something you don't see in a breakfast/brunch food joint. I'd welcome more places to eat in the morning that aren't try to flood the space with natural lighting. All in all, this was a great place to get your first meal of the day. Just know you have to by hyper-vigilant of asking for coffee refills if you're an addict like me and you'll be fine.

I especially love it when simplicity and genuine passion is served, not just presentation. Anyway, to start off - this market, and it's a market, not quite a restaurant. When my friend and I stopped in, there was one table, four chairs. Since we were there late, we were able to sit and dine in. Sitting and eating there allowed us to chat with Kojo - the owner. Learning not just about the market but his history and his passion for what he does. Switching gears again - the market is in a huge shopping plaza. Lots of parking. And free. As for the food - see the pics. Dinner pics is mixed in with what was left in the market. I can't even begin to explain how much I enjoyed the flavors of the dishes he made on the spot for us. As we were there late in the day, most of the popular dishes were sold out however, he made a few suggestions, even two that were off the menu and made it to order. When we were there, it was a one man operation. So he was also our host and server. If you couldn't tell - service was excellent. Chatting about food. About seafood. About the beginning of Gulf Port. And about life in general. This is one of those places, that if I lived there - I'd frequent the place just because of him. It's just too bad that me going there requires a plane ticket and a five or so hour flight. But, also know this - next time I fly into Nashville, I'll make my way to Hermitage and have more delicious, fresh seafood.

**April 2025: Saturday Evening Visit**…read more My friend and I wanted to eat somewhere in the Hermitage area since that's where we were staying and Gulf Port Seafood had really high ratings, which were 100% well deserved. I should preface this by saying that Gulf Port is a seafood market first and that they have one table (4 chairs) so you can dine-in - but space is limited. Kojo, the restaurant owner, has both raw and hot options for patrons to enjoy. We came pretty late on a Saturday so many of his popular items (gumbo and lobster roll) were sold out, but we decide to try his other offerings which were delicious. We ordered the 2 orders of Cajun Crawfish Roll (methinks $15?), Seafood Mac & Cheese (methinks $20?) and Shrimp and Grits ($20? maybe) and all were made to order and brought to our table in a timely manner. The Cajun Crawfish Rolls came out first (I guess one order is given two rolls) and we demolished it. The toasted bun had a nice char, but was fluffy on the inside and the cajun sauce gave the crawfish nice flavor. We devoured this and were really impressed with the item. Next the Seafood Mac and Cheese came our as well as the shrimp and grits. The Mac and Cheese had such a great blend of cheeses and the noodles were cooked al dente. The grits on the shrimp and grits were scrumptious - not mushy at all and the shrimp was cooked through. Everything tasted very comforting and the prices are very reasonable! Overall, this was definitely a highlight meal of my Southern States travels and the next time I'm back in Nashville I hope to try the gumbo and lobster roll!
