Always a great meal and can accommodate large groups. We were a party of 28 crazy and loud women of an age for our holiday luncheon we had two long tables in a large room great menu selections. The food is good here. There is a big, varied menu with all of the standard favorites. The food comes out fast too. The restaurant is big and clean. They have Keno here too. The bar is usually more crowded than the dining area. Service can be hit or miss but is usually good at the tables. The bartenders tend to focus on regulars (there are a lot) and ignore others. read more

After 30+ years our fave Chinese Food Restaurant closed so we have been trying others in our area for our "once a month" Friday Night Take Out & a Movie. We went 2 Fridays ago. It was bad. Boneless Pork strips were ULTRA FATTY, Chicken Fingers were so shiny from Grease that you could practically see yourself in them. I wrapped one in a paper towel just to eat it :( The Teriyaki was only fair and I didn't think it was cooked enough. REALLY CHEWY. I put it in the AirFryer to make it palatable. Rice was excellent. One savings grace for me: One of my fave Apps are Fried WonTons. I WILL say that they are the best that I have had on the South Shore. They are different than anywhere else. They are almost like a 3D Triangle. Not like any other restaurant around. They need to cook their food as if everyone is a FIRST TIME CUSTOMER. Especially for the Price. It was well over $30 for not much. We were first time patrons and we were NOT IMPRESSED at all. We MAY give it one more go if we are getting Rice & WonTons. I'll change my review. When back in town, high school classmates and I try to get together for drinks apps and laughter! This is our first time hanging out here as a group. Some of us (me included) had not been there for thirty years! I had come in the afternoon before to scope it out. Sammy the bartender was super friendly and over a glass of wine I explained what we were looking for... The minute I walked in the next night, it was if Sammy and I had known each other forever. He and I rearranged some tables and classmates started arriving. Sammy was amazing... he allowed us to catch up over drinks and then came by to have us consider appetizers... We were transported to high school and college... Food was delicious... Crab Rangoon, Chicken wings, roast pork and a selection of Egg and Spring Rolls. Our go-to for Chinese food. Solid & consistent. Just your basic Chinese food done well and my order has never been messed up. I love that they have the pillowy triangle crab rangoons vs the round ball-shaped ones. Duck sauce is the brown kind, not orange (yay!) and if you ask for extra, they give you a tub of it! Everything always tastes fresh and is fried just right without being over or under done. You'll surely be satisfied after having this food! read more

Tried this restaurant last night. Got a seat at the bar luckily because it was crowded with regulars. Started with a scorpion bowl and the bartender definitely put the high end liquor in the middle. We saw him do it so it's good to know they do that because scorpion bowls are ordered to give you the buzz you want. We ordered a tid bit and a shrimp dish. The food was good but the spicy garlic shrimp that came out was fried and leading a low carb lifestyle, I was disappointed. It was super tasty, dont get me wrong but not because it was fried with some kind of flour on it, it was the garlic and spice that made it good. I'm sure next time we go I can order it unfried and just sauteed. They offer keno so we played a few games and enjoyed playing while we drank our scorpion bowl. Alright Chinese restaurant. I got this as takeout one night when I was on call late, I was super hungry and got the combination dinner with spicy chicken, pork fried rice, crab rangoon. Overall just ok. The spicy chicken sauce was a bit heavy and sweet for my taste. Although there was a good amount of vegetable which was nice (I don't think it's enough that it makes this a balanced meal but that's beside the point). The pork fried rice was ok, I'd have wished for more pork in it but the pieces they did have were pretty big. Crab rangoon was tasty, they give you 3 pieces and they were pretty average. I like goonies so I had a good time with those especially with the duck sauce. They do give you a side of a white bread roll, which honestly is kind of random at a Chinese spot, it tasted like an average store-bought roll and I didn't eat it. Average spot, not bad but not great. I'd be interested to see how it is dining in here, looks like they have a good selection of drinks. It was a pretty busy and popping spot even though I came late on a Tuesday or Wednesday night around 11:30pm. read more

Decent local Chinese food restaurant. I've ordered takeout and the food is good - average takeout Americanized Chinese food. Service is always friendly and quick. I've eaten at the bar several times as well, and absolutely love the friendly bartenders (and their strong drinks!) Drinks are definitely the highlight over food when eating in. The only downsides for me are: 1) Parking can be crazy when ordering takeout on a Friday or Saturday night 2) They don't offer delivery - only takeout - and when I'm in a lazy Chinese food mood, sometimes driving the 5 minutes to China Plaza and searching for parking can be more than I can handle! read more

The last few times I've ordered food - it wasnt great- went tonight and it was disgusting. chicken wings are plain and weren't cooked, sent them back. Beef teriyaki was just sticky and gross. Chicken fingers were so greasy I couldn't eat them after holding them on a napkin to drain the grease. Shrimp with lobster sauce - scary. $60 and left feeling sick. I will never go there again and certainly would never recommend. I'm not one to write reviews but this was just bad. I dont know what happened - 4-5 years ago it was good. Sorry- not sorry. Took a group from the Avon COA and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was delicious and fresh. Our waitress was great.

It's been a long time since I've gotten take-out from China Plaza. I ordered Hot and Sour Soup and a combo plate, and it was very good. The food was waiting for me when I arrived, and by the time I rode back home to Hanson it was still nice and hot. The price was right, and the quality was good. We were a party of six and we had a great time. Everything we ordered came out quickly and was cooked perfectly. We ordered too much food but that's not a bad thing. Now we have another fantastic meal waiting for us tomorrow. The only thing missing will be the super friendly service. read more

Went to China Plaza in Rockland on December 26th, 2021. Ordered food and asked how long it would be. We were told 15-20 minutes. No problem, went into the lounge and had a few drinks. Spent $85.00 on our order. Picked up order and went home to watch Pats. Took out the order, sampled boneless spareribs, greasy and flavorless! No fortune cookies, no hot sauce and no soy sauce. Very disappointed. Haven't even tasted the rest, but sure it'll be disappointing. Called them and told them, they said oh she must have forgot ‍(that's her job!!) you can come back, told them, No, not going to waste anymore money on this place for sure. Yuck! read more

General Gau's FAIL? General FAIL's chicken? I cant decide which alternate name I prefer. Either way the dish sucks here. Its really just sweet and sour chicken with a scarce amount of that sambal oelek chili paste thrown in. Its lacking the ginger and richness of the typical gau. read more

This place is a Hallmark serving the greater Rockland- Abington- Whitman markets. Old school menu. I would highly recommend.
