Horrendous service. In short, came here yesterday afternoon with my mom and two young toddlers. Promptly seated but with no greeting, took 20 mins just to take our order, waited over 40 mins for our 2 lunch specials. (Never came), during that time we were completely neglected. Went to pay for soup we ate since we didn't want to keep waiting for our food any longer, charged $2.50, lady broke my card. If you want the ridiculously longer version of my review, here's what I posted to a local FB group (my neighbors are the ones who suggested I write a review on Yelp): I normally don't go out of my way to "bash" food places, actually, I never have. Never write reviews on places. I like to think of myself as a polite and patient patron. But I just had the absolute worst experience ever at China Point and felt compelled to share. This is pretty lengthy. Also, prefacing this with the fact that I've been here plenty times before and know that they are not the most hospitable when interacting with guests, but their food is tasty enough for me to not be bothered by it. I also understand they make their food fresh and I have had no problems with waiting for my food. But today takes the cake. Earlier I took my mom and 2 little ones to lunch, when we walked in, it was busy but we were seated in the last available spot. We just sat and sat and sat, until finally our order was taken .... 20 minutes later! I get that it was busy, but that was ridiculous to be sitting there all ready to order for so long but never was approached lol. Okay, so we order our food and I ask for wonton strips and dip for the kids to munch on (Figured they can eat this while we wait for our food). Never came out which was a bummer because my 1 year old was getting pretty antsy as she finished her fruit snacks I gave her. Our waiter finally came by and I asked about the wonton strips and dip, no apology for forgetting. He came back with them after 10 minutes but no dip, it's fine, I don't bother asking thinking it would probably be another 10 minutes just to grab it from the back. So there we were waiting for our food, waiting, and waiting, nothing. I'm looking around and everyone has been getting somewhat better service. We never got water refills, totally neglected and honestly I was feeling quite embarrassed because we were sitting at our table with nothing really in front of us. (We were seated in the middle of the place, not in a booth). Worth noting it had totally calmed down in there. So I finally get up and go to the front to let a lady know we were leaving and I wanted to pay for the soup. We've been in there for OVER AN HOUR. Okay, here's where it gets real rich. The lady calls to the back and acts like we were inconveniencing them! Crazy thing is we were the ones who had our time wasted, waited for over an hour and didn't even eat there. No apologies, and still charged for the soup (wasn't expecting it for free at all, but you would've thought they'd offer for us not to pay the $2.50 lol). I give the card to her and she swipes it really hard, I get it back and it's cracked! When I tell her she broke my card she just said "it's old". What in the world?! Never mind the fact that it wasn't cracked when I gave it to her and now it is lol. At this point I didn't even bother arguing because I'm pretty upset and don't want to cause a scene. Never. Ever. Again. I don't care how decent their food is, never have I been so disgusted with a "restaurant" experience before. Totally obvious they didn't even care about us walking out and the crazy part of all of this was that I was nice about everything up until my card was swiped hard and cracked. read more

Been coming here since I was 10 years old and I'm 39 now! Love everyone that works here! Sure they get busy but that's a given knowing that their food is absolutely authentic and deliciously amazing! (We went yesterday, Tuesday) and the waitress gave us a holiday goody bag filled with fortune cookies, almond cookies, and a box of Jasmine tea, also a scroll to hang up on the wall, that was pretty neat and sweet. My food was delicious, the shrimp on the shrimp chowmein was cooked perfectly, so tender and the noodles themselves WOW, never had chowmein like that, so much flavor and the texture of the noodles we fell in love with. We have ordered here several times and at all hours of the day....expect to wait for your food at least 30 to 40 minutes even though they tell you only 20 minutes. The food is ok, I have had several items off of the menu and have not been wowed by any of them. The cost is ridiculously high I would have no problem paying a higher price for a higher quality of food but this place isn't that high quality. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE RUDE SERVICE!!! My wife, my 3yr old son and I wanted some Chinese food and searched for a place we haven't tried before and found this place on Yelp. We figured hundreds of reviews and a solid 4 stars, must be good, right? Yeaaah, NO. We arrived at the restaurant and waited by the front to be seated. There were 4 staff members walking around, SAW us but then just went about their business and just ignored us-no greeting, nothing. 5 minutes pass by and 1 of them finally acknowledged our presence and from across the restaurant yells "HOW MANY?!?!" My wife tells her for 3. There were 3 tables open and a booth. After asking us she starts yelling again but towards her coworkers, then asks if we wanted a high chair. My wife says no. She sets the table and we thought we were gonna be seated, but then she just walks away, breaks conversation with us and starts servicing other seated customers WHEN OTHER STAFF WERE ALREADY DOING SO. So we end up waiting 10 or more minutes, another group of 4 people comes in behind us....waited another 5 minutes and then she finally calls us to the table and ASKED AGAIN if we wanted a high chair. We said NO but she still went to grab the freaking high chair. My wife asked if we can just sit at the booth next to where she's trying to seat us....and her response and action was the last straw: SHE HAD THE NERVE TO SAY "OH NO, NO, NO....THE KID WILL START PLAYING WITH THE THERMOSTAT BLAH BLAH BS BS". We were like (in our heads) how DARE you place an action towards OUR SON to do something like that when he hasn't done anything. During her rejection and continuous nonsensical excuse of why we can't sit in the booth, her other staff serviced the group behind us who was only waiting for 5 minutes AND SITS THEM IN THE BOOTH WHERE WE WERE REQUESTING TO BE SEATED. ARE. YOU. SERIOUS?!? At that point my wife just got up and exclaimed towards this RUDE lady NEVERMIND and started walking out. I started getting up and took my son as well and this lady STILL ASKED ME IF I DIDN'T WANT THE HIGH CHAIR and I told her NEVERMIND and walked out. Not only were we furious and hungry but we had to calm our 3 yr old son because as we walked out he started saying "Oh No!! I want some rice!!!". The lunch menu prices have steadily increased over time. Now they range from $7.99 to $10.99. Once upon a time their lunch prices started at $5.95. Damn you inflation! - Service: Just like home. Where else can you go to get good food with a bunch of asian women screaming at each other in the background and running around like chickens with their heads cut off. No pretension here. You sit, you order, you eat, you pay, then you go. Hab a na da! - Food: Alright...this is where we get serious. The food is delicious! From your basics like Kung Pao Chicken to Hot Garlic Sauce w/ 3 Kinds of Meat (my personal fave), everything is good! This place benefits from a tremendous amount of regulars which translates into high turn over which allows them to maintain the quality of their product. Did I mention no steam trays? Everything is made to order. There are a couple off menu items you can order like the Spicy Fried Shrimp, or the Sweet and Pungent Shrimp for lunch. Beware tho...since everything is made to order, some dishes can take longer to prepare. Overall, I highly recommend China Point. One star for the food. So last week my folks and I went here for dinner. Waited 15 minutes to be seated, waited 10 minutes for someone to take our order waited another 45 minutes for our food. The service is horrible. Waitresses were running here and there, their glasses were solid colored plastics which is a big NO NO! My pops even asked if he could have a different soup instead of the one that's on the menu and the server said NO! Worst thing I didn't like about it is the servers would just grab our plates and they don't even ask if we were done or not. I find it rude, very rude. Also, they had the hot chilli oil hot sauce. No Chinese place can claim to be authentic and not have the hot chili oil hot sauce. It's a must!! The customer service was good. Nice and friendly broken English customer service hahahaha. If you're in the area between 11-3 and are hungry, this place is worth the visit.
