This place is disgustingly filthy. The service is horrible. The restaurant looked like this while the server sat in the dining area

Celebrated my mom's birthday a few weeks ago and her one request was Hong Kong Style crispy noodles. Tai Pan House was one of the only places that distinctly came up on the Yelp search with this style of noodles, so we took a chance and ordered our dinner from here for take out. They did not disappoint. The food was good, especially the crispy noodles, and the service was friendly. They made a strong first impression. Tai Pan House is located in a small shopping center off of Archibald Avenue. The restaurant occupies its own building within the center but shares plenty of free parking with the other businesses. As noted above, we ordered our food for takeout. We called the order in and the time they estimated for pickup was reasonable and accurate. Our food was ready upon our arrival. Although we took the order to go, the food remained warm despite the drive home. Our order consisted of - Chinese Pancake with Scallion - Orange Chicken - Honey Walnut Shrimp - House Special Hong Kong Style Chow Mein - Shrimp Fried Rice Although we ordered takeout, the portions for the dishes were very generous. The price point for the meal was also very reasonable. Our favorite items were the Honey Walnut Shrimp and Hong Kong Style Chow Mein. Both were tasty and very fresh. The Chinese Pancake with Scallion was good, but very greasy. We would steer clear of this item in the future. The Orange Chicken was plentiful, but several pieces tasted like they have been prepared from earlier in the day. Overall, we did enjoy our meal from Tai Pan House and would visit them again if we were in the area or if we had a craving for their Hong Kong Style Noodles. Definitely, a solid option for authentic Chinese food in the area.

Are you kidding me? I was CRAVING some Chow Fun and ordered it with beef. I don't know if the woman who took my order was confused but it should be pretty cut and dry of what basic Beef Chow Fun is. She told me the extra container is what you pour over the noodle. I was like...what? Usually you don't have a separate container to mix in the noodles. I thought it was some new thing they had going, but I was tired and just wanted to get home. So anyway I get home and I open it up to find PLAIN noodles with NO BEEF, and no seasoning! Then there is a container of Egg Flower Soup with Shrimp. The person I wanted to share it with has a seafood allergy! What a fail! I feel like they just slapped something together and brought it out because they didn't know what beef chow fun meant. It's literally on the menu. How do they not know what's on their own menu? Unless I just got someone else's order, but she told me that I poured what's in the container over the noodles so it had to have been mine. I spent $18 on this and I feel completely cheated. Look at the photos I took of it. She wanted me to pour egg flower soup over plain noodles and said that this is the chow fun?

I love the food variety there - it's authentic Chinese cuisine, mouthwateringly tasty and delicious. But keep your guard up; those clumsy cooks can screw up and leave bits of steel cleaning pads in your meal. It's not on purpose, but damn, watch what you're shoving down your throat.

I ordered the frog legs and shrimp fired rice. I've eaten frog legs all over the country, and these were by far the biggest and most flavored Ive had to date. Highly recommend this place if you looking for them. They were a little pricey compared to the other places I've went to but the size of the dish explains the price. Customer service could use some improvements. I waited at the front for my order to be taken for about 5 mins before even being acknowledged, but I will give them the benefit of doubt that they were busy.

Food was average Chinese cuisine. The green beans with beef XO sauce was my favorite. The lo mein noodle was bland and pig's feet were tough to bite. Not pressurized enough. The fried deep soul was ok. Been coming here for awhile but today was ok. Service was always excellent. Fast and gives all we need. Ambiance quiet airy and spacious .

The line was really long but went by pretty fast! Inside, it's the same system. You build your salad and then pay, before a server seats your party. Then you're free to grab soup, baked goods, and more. It's just as I remembered! The nostalgia that hit me when I took a bite of the pasta salad... everything tasted really solid and I'm so glad the soup and salad concept is back under a different name. It's super affordable and my mom and I left both really full and super happy with the experience. We just wish it were closer to us!

It was exactly like Soup Plantation, from the salads to the breads and small pizzas and the soups; it all was the same and even tasted the same. The same concept, the same buffet style. Wow, it brought back memories. Since this is the only one of this kind remaining in California, this place gets packed. I waited about 30 mins to get in; there's a line that is crazy long, but the line does move quick. The main difference here is that the restaurant itself is way too clean. Soup Plantation was not always the cleanest, but here you can tell they put care into the place. I ate my salad and breads like a child trying pizza for the first time. I savored every bite because I don't know when I will return again because it is far, but damn, it was worth it. Worth the wait and worth the food. Lunch is about 15 bucks, while dinner is about 20 dollars. Not bad to be honest. Can't wait to drive back.

I was craving dumplings but did not want to make the drive all the way to the 626 area for dinner…read more Luckily i was able to find this little shop near to home. For starters the shop is a bit small with an ambiance of a mom and pop restaurant. Not much going on just as simple as it gets for these kind of shops. The service was a hit on the slower side. We sat for a bit before we got any attention from the servers, but as soon as you order the food comes out almost immediately so i would say they made up for it in that way. One of the things that was rare for a dumpling shop was the sauce bar. I have only seen these at hot pot restaurants, but it was pretty neat to be able to have everything available to make your own dumplings sauce. All it was missing was the chopped ginger and it would've been a 10/10 on the sauce bar alone! Idk if they make their own chili oil but i felt it may have needed to have a bit more heat. We ordered several dumpling dishes as well as the fried rice and the cucumber salad. The salad was on point! Ill take a smashed cucumber salad over a sliced one any day! I was a bit disappointed with the XLB because they were lacking the "soup" part of the soup dumpling.(completely dry) aside from that the rest of the dumplings were a generous 8.5/10. The fried rice was about the least of my favorite meals. It was lacking the WOK char on the day old rice necessary for egg fried rice. It felt more like it was an "all ingredients tossed into a rice cooker and mixed up with soy sauce" type of deal. Maybe im wrong but the rice was too fresh and mushy to be proper egg fried rice. All in all this place held up nicely. I personally give the experience a 7.5/10 altogether. Decent restaurant to consider if you are craving dumplings but not craving the traffic and long ride to the 626 area.

The thing that immediately caught my attention? FREE noodle refills on all large pho soups!…read more I ordered the Chicken Pho and Shrimp Pho, and both had a flavorful, comforting broth that really hit the spot. The broth had great depth of flavor without being too heavy, making it perfect for sipping between bites. Of course, pho isn't complete without appetizers! I had to get the egg rolls and spring rolls. Egg Rolls: So flavorful with the perfect light crunch. Honestly, I always have to order egg rolls with pho because it's just the perfect combo. Spring Rolls: Fresh, delicious, and paired perfectly with the peanut sauce. The ingredients tasted fresh and the sauce added the perfect creamy, nutty finish. As for those free noodle refills, I actually didn't end up needing them! They give you a generous amount of noodles to begin with, so I was completely satisfied with my bowl. For dessert, I treated myself to a Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Ube Cold Foam. Vietnamese coffee is always one of my favorites because it's strong, rich, and sweet all at the same time. The ube cold foam was such a fun addition and complemented the coffee perfectly. Beyond the food, I absolutely loved the atmosphere. The restaurant is beautiful with lots of greenery, creating a relaxing and inviting ambiance. The staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
