This is the best Asian food in Bowling Green. We love the spring rolls, the sesame shrimp and the Mongolian noodles. Each time we order from them we are very happy with our meals! The prices seem a bit high, but the portions are quite generous. If you haven't tried The China, you're missing out! read more

service was not professional. I called the china when i got home because I wanted the regular soft Chinese noddles but i got hard noddles. I asked if i can get the noddles i wanted and the girl said "not a problem, We will make that for you". I drove all the way across town back to the restaurant just for the girl to tell me "that's what u asked for". Did not even put the order in for what i wanted and said I would have to pay for a separate order of noddles. Unprofessional for saying you were going to re-make the order and when i arrived, i was told different. i simply ordered sesame chicken with "chow mein noddles" and crab wantons for $15 but got HARD noddles. Would of been appreciated if I was told they weren't going to re make the order and i did not have to spend additional $10 for a small order of noddles. I've been ordering "chow mein noddles" for years and not once did i get "hard noddles". being told one thing and not expecting what was told on the phone in person is very unprofessional. When i got my "new noddles" it was terrible. Whatever they cooked the noddles with the vegetable left a lot of water and no flavor. I will NEVER order from this restaurant again. The WORST Chinese food I have ever eaten. Chicken served on a bunch of raw cabbage and onions. Sweet and sour chicken served on RAW onions, carrots and peppers. What are you supposed to do with a container full of raw onions and carrots? Disgusting sauce, it was almost black and looked like partially congealed blood. The people there are very rude and when ordering take out they put it in containers that leak all over. I had to clean everything and the table before we could even eat. Their response was 'there is nothing I can do. We have people that order the sauce on the side but that is extra.' Wow! read more

ohhhhh buddy.... chinese at its finest...well, korean chinese..(which is better :P) the owners are absofreakinlutely adorable and know exactly what theyre doing cuz theyve been around the block...and they will accomodate to your needs :) you get drawn into the fabulous decor and it has a quiet setting, which is nice for a quiet dinner with family or friends, or even a hot date! :) wooooonderful food! spicier the better too..theres not one thing i can recommend cuz i love it ALL! *hot and sour soup, yes its the unhealthiest of them all, but life is all about splurging! trust me, you wont regret it! read more

It's everything you would expect from a restaurant called The China in a place like Bowling Green, Ohio. Yes, THE CHINA is what the restaurant's sign reads. I laughed so hard I about fell over when I first saw this place's name! Needless to say, it's nowhere near authentic. It's generic Chinese-American food, with rather high prices and small portions. I feel like they try really hard to emulate P.F. Chang's/Pei Wei's style of Chinese food, but it doesn't even hold a candle to either. It did come out quickly, but everything was swimming in the same copious amount of what tasted like overly sweet teriyaki sauce...SO MUCH SUGAR!. Also, the cuts of meat were not tender and I could tell were very cheap. The service was poor. Our waiter was this very attitudinal, sullen, red-haired dude who was just rude, unfriendly, and never smiled. I was with two black friends, and Bowling Green locals are known to be pretty racist, and I feel like this was a large part of why we were treated so rudely. He also kept forgetting things we asked for and we had to remind him a few times. We tried to do him a favor by splitting the bill with how much we wanted to have put on each card, and he rudely informed us that they don't apparently pick up your bill from the table (!!) but you have to go up to the register to pay. I'd expect that maybe from a far less expensive place, like maybe a diner, but this place? I had heard from some locals that this place was supposed to be good, and maybe for local, native Bowling Greeners, who are some of the whitest and least cultured people I have ever encountered in this country, it's great. But to me, it was just below average to average Chinese-American food with RUDE service. I will not be going back. read more

Have been going here for years. Love the food and serving sizes are more than adequate. like that brown rice now a choice. Visiting family regard it as a must. Irritating hours, closed way too much, which causes drama for visiting family. Atmosphere quiet and "talkable". Soft classic music. Their tea best ever. A very accommodating staff. Yesterday one waiter handled our group of 18 with complete efficiency, including 18 separate checks. Parking great, very handicap accessible. read more

Best Chinese in the State of Ohio. I highly recommend the sesame chicken or princess shrimp. Service is good, carry out is efficient. Only complaint is the weird hours. When it comes to Bowling Green, I have never been too impressed by the Chinese Options Avaliable, but once I found The China, I was happy. I quickly became a regular thanks to their Schezan Tofu dish, a sweet and spicy brown sauce covering generous portions of fried tofu and fresh vegetables. I then got up the corage to try something new and found the gerat world of seafood dishes they have to offer. Good sized portions, great service and really good food are the ways to describe the China. One thing I advise against is the soups. The egg drop was way too salty and the hot and sour was really peppery. Both were not very edible. read more

The food is good, but a little pricy for the portion. Menu is confusing by trying to be gourmet (pictures of pig and cow instead of writing pork or beef was a little unsettling). I just had to write a review because the other review said they had the best hot and sour soup and this is just a lie. The soup was neither hot nor sour, it was just full of black pepper-- practically to the point of being inedible.
