We found this little hidden gem as we were passing thru New Mexico. Judging by the outside and location, you would have no idea how amazing the food inside is. The portions are family sized, take this from someone who can usually eat the HUGEST portions, these meals will last you for days and the prices are so cheap! I got a huge playtermof shrimp lo mein for only $8 and I barely made a dent in it. The cream cheese wontons are amazing and my husband got the Mongolian beef which was also delicious and will be feeding him for days! They also bring out a little free bowl of fried noodles to munch on while you're browsing the menu. Overall, the fresh quality of food, the taste, the portion sizes, and the prices are unbeatable. Under its current owner, this restaurant has become one of Deming's most popular eateries. A few years ago, the new owner brought in a chef and redecorated. The food is excellent, prices low, and the portions are generous. Many people get lunch there and take home half of it for a second meal. I recently led a party of 14 people there on a Saturday. I neglected to give the restaurant a heads-up but the owner seated us immediately, and we had enough food for everybody and leftovers for a hundred bucks. Hard to beat that. There are good vegetarian options including tofu dishes. My one small regret is that I can't get a nice cold Tsingtao beer with my meal. Pros: I agree with everyone on the portion sizes and speedy service, which were quite impressive. My finicky son said these were the best noodles he'd ever had (roasted pork lo mein). The Szechewan Beef was nice and spicy, too! Truck driver lunch servings had us taking three boxes home. If you have kids, order one dish for three or four people. Parking was ample right in front and in the direction of the highway, so it was convenient for us as we headed from AZ to Texas. Cons: It had a run-down bathroom with sticky floors, and the server was not very attentive to drink refills or any need we had once our food was delivered to the table. read more

What a great find. A place you probably wouldn't find on your own. In an old store building downtown. My husband had the honey walnut shrimp he stated was quite tasty. A great and welcome surprise in Deming! Delicious food and huge portions. The food was prepared hot and fresh and served quickly after it was ordered. The meal Included Hot & Sour soup, House Special Lo Mein, and Kung Pao Three (chicken, beef, and shrimp) Kung Pao had a great sauce and just the right amount of spicy (including possibly poblano or jalapeno peppers) The total (including 20% tip) was $30.00. The only slight disappointment was that the Hot & Sour soup tasted like egg drop soup with added sriracha. Still, it was better than some hot & sour soup I've had. I live in California but am from Texas and do the drive back and forth very regularly. I make it a point to stop at China Restaurant every time I pass through Deming! The portions are HUGE and delicious and the prices are beyond reasonable!! My husband and I usually just split an order of egg rolls and an entree or some fried rice and never spend more than about ten bucks and it's always more than enough food!! Eating here is always a highlight of the drive! Sure beats McDonalds! read more

We ordered shrimp fried rice, shrimp lo main, and pork egg rolls. There was plenty of shrimp but the rice and lo mein were bland. There was no sauce on the lo mein. While eating the rice I would bite down on uncooked rice. The egg rolls were burnt. I mixed the sweet and sour sauce into the rice to give it flavor. My husband ate them (he eats anything) I did not. Have eaten here several times and the food is very good. The new owners have remodeled the facility twice. The cook is a real chef and the food shows it. The portions are substantial and the presentation is very good, The food is properly prepared. Some of the dishes have been New Mexicoised or what ever you call it. Jalapenos in the Kung Pao, chicken and beef. If you want hotter tell them and that is what you get. Lunch is served till 3 pm. Of the two Chinese restaurants in town this one is the clear best choice. I would give 4 1/2 stars except the men's room is not clean and the wall switch plate is filthy with grease and dirt. It makes me wonder how the kitchen is cleaned. That said I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants Chinese in Deming. read more

Absolutely fab good. Husband had great eggs flower soup (wasn't very hungry) I had Strawberry Chicken. Same as orange chicken except with strawberries. Slices of fresh strawberries, strawberry sauce and excellent white meat chicken in a lite batter. The only negative (if you can call it that) is that the portions are HUGE. If you ordered an appetizer 3 people could eat one entree and not have leftovers. 2 waitstaff in a very full restaurant on a Friday nite and we still had great service.
