I ordered $25 worth of chinese food yesterday and was bitterly disappointed. 1. Apparently you can order online, which I love and did, but the lunch menu is not clearly defined to exclude Sundays on the website. I ordered the lunch specials, only to receive a call saying that it was only Monday thur Saturday. When I tried to explain that nowhere on the website does it stipulate that, I found myself in a very frustrating conversation on the phone. 2. I asked to substitute lo mein for fried rice and was told it would cost me $3 extra, which is totally their perogative, but a little ridiculous to me. Oh, and this got me another annoying call from the restaurant. I JUST WANTED TO ORDER FREAKING CHINESE FOOD!! 3. The fried rice was inedible - dry, hard and lacked any kind of vegetables... just a random piece of egg here and there. I threw it all in the garbage. ALL OF IT. 4. The sesame chicken was hard and stringy and had layers of yellow gooey dough running throughout the chunks. 5. The egg drop soup contained huge hunks of gelatin which was less than appetizing. 6. The ONLY positive from my experience is that the twice cooked pork was delicious, but I've had better. Won't be back. China Taste has lost a once regular customer. read more

I like their food and they are always consistent with my order. I go there regularly for my lunch.. Kang Pao chicken extra spicy.

If you have: A) roughly two hours to kill and no problem using them up waiting for food to be delivered; B) no young kids waiting to be fed; C) a medical condition that precludes you consuming food that is anything above room temperature; D) an affinity for rude chicks on phones; and E) a passion for food that is the edible equivalent of sad trombone music... I love average quality chinese takeout. My favorites are Sesame or the General's Chicken, wanton soup, crab rangoons, and fried rice. I have tried eating here over ten times as it is very close to where I live. All I can say is that it just isn't that good. I really want to like it, but it just isn't very good. The chicken has rough bites in it and the wanton in the soups always tastes rubbery and fake. I really wanted to like this place, but each time I eat it, it just flat out stinks and I feel terrible later. I'm still on the hunt for a good place around me, but until then I go to Pei-Wei. Sometimes they want to accept American Express (my corporate credit card), sometimes they say that they don't take it. I understand that it has a higher percentage fee, but when I'm already paying too much for takeout, you have to be somewhat accommodating. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

On more than one occasion we have tried Kung Pao Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, General Tso's Chicken, Mixed Vegetable and a Spicy Shrimp dish I can't recall the name of. So far I have really liked all of them. I have had better General Tso's chicken but theirs is still good. The Kung Pao Chicken is one of the best I have ever had as well as the Beef and Broccoli. Worst Chinese food I've EVER had. I ordered a simple meal; Sweet & Sour chicken + Egg Drop Soup. The Chicken was so heavily fried that it was like trying to eat crab legs, I should have brought a mallet. The rice was dry and seemed like it must have been leftover from yesterday. I would give this place 3.5 stars but the shrimp lo mein pushed it to 4 stars! This might be my favorite lo mein from a Chinese takeout place! It is cooked very well and tastes good. It is not at all greasy/oily nor is it overly sauced. There is a perfect amount of veggies and shrimp in it too! The chicken fried rice was alright but nothing special. I would say, though, that the portion is huge. I swear my family ate so much of it last night but when I opened the container today to eat some of the leftovers, the carton was still almost all the way full. We order delivery from China Taste pretty regularly - the food is decent. Delivery is usually pretty quick. My main complaint is that our order is often incorrect. One time my chicken with vegetables arrived sans chicken. Another time I ordered one dish with steamed rice but both dishes arrived with steamed rice (meals usually come with fried rice -- not great fried rice though). The hot and sour soup is also not good at all, and I usually like having hot and sour soup with my food, darn. I ordered for delivery. I paid my food with a credit card then the lady states are you going to add tip because we are contact less. Understandable. The delivery lady comes, she doesn't come to my door and leave the food she asked me to come downstairs and I called them back stating that you were contact less and that is very unprofessional. Was excited to try this place--but the food we ordered was inedible due to a very strong smell of cigarette smoke. The rice that came with our meals (beef and broccoli, sesame chicken) tasted like if you were to eat a cigarette and it made the whole meal inedible. I had only purchased soup and appetizers here, but decided to give one of their entrees a try. What a mistake that was! I ordered the basil pork not realizing that their basil pork doesn't actually contain any basil. I'm not even sure if what I received was even pork either. The overall rating of this place is not accurate to saying how good this place is. I have eaten in restaurant, and gotten take out many times during work days. They are always fast (5-10 min) and never messed up my order. The food was always hot and fresh. Best way to order is calling ahead, but if you don't have a menu, you can order at the counter and wait 5 minutes. I have tried Sesame Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, and Double-cooked Pork lunch specials. I would say that none of these dishes come with little/no vegetables, including the fried rice, and that is the only disappointment. The General Tso's was very good - barely breaded, hot, and the sauce was sweet and spicy. The Double-cooked pork was also really good, served with cabbage. I order Chinese food a lot and to me a lot of the food began to taste all alike unless they are awful. I found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to order the kung pao beef. This is one of the best I've had, the beef was tender, not a lot of peanuts or other fillers like broccoli. Overall it was flavorful and delicious. The fact I can order delivery online is great. In general, their food is solid and they give generous portions of meat (although one of my friend's dishes had way too many veggies and not enough chicken...I don't remember which one it was though). You can't go wrong with their General Tso or Szechuan Beef. I would advise against getting their Egg Drop soup (tastes watery) or Pad Thai, which is incredibly dry. But if you stick with the regular stuff, you will be pleased. Oh, and aside from combination dishes, the dinner entrees tend to be delivered in nice microwaveable containers. This was my first time trying this place and the only reason why I'm not giving it a one star is because the delivery was fast. I got the Kung Pao Chicken combo which is supposed to come with fried rice but the fried rice was just white rice and soy sauce. Nothing else. I also ordered a side of fries and they came soggy and drenched in oil, which I could not eat even after I tried wiping/blotting the oil away with a paper towel.
