    Shrimp Tempura Roll

I really like this restaurant. I don't come as often anymore because of some stomach problems but that's my personal problems. However, the food here is really really good. I have brought my mom here tons of times, and they even came with my cousin once, and a friend. Since turning 21 I have also had the pleasure to enjoy their cocktail menu, which is really delicious. I recommend the Hawaiian lemonade. It's probably my favorite drink to order. Also like that, they let you order out drinks as long as you come and show your ID, which is really nice when you want to have takeout but you also want some alcohol. I normally order a shrimp, tempura roll and steak hibachi. I recently also ordered their chicken wings with sweet chili sauce, which is also a really good dish. I recommend the food it's always fire every time I go. The ambience of the restaurant is really really nice. I love the decor and the music that's always playing. I will say that the restaurant really isn't made for a lot of people because the food always comes out slow even though there's never a full restaurant.

Take out- SO SO SO GOOD. I have been trying to find sushi in mill basin that I like. And I have found it. There is another sushi spot up the road (that I shall not name) that many locals see to be a fan of and China Tokyo tops there 100 times. The fish is fresh. The jalapeño on the yellow tail is fresh crunchy with perfect spice (the place up the road gives you a jarred picked jalapeño- gross). The Manhattan roll was AMAZING! It is all so good and I definitely recommend it again.

I have visted this place several times before and finally got a chance to review them. I visted this past Sunday and I appreciate this place because it's in the neighborhood and has Happy hour 7 days a week from 4-8! Major plus. The drinks are good and are around 6-8 dollars. They also have appetizers on the menu for happy hour as well The food- what i have tasted has always been good. I've had the general tsos chicken , shrimp tempura roll, sesame chicken, and pork dumplings. All good. The entrees are a good size as well. The ambiance- nice low key spot good for a quiet date night in the neighborhood. Wish they played soft music or something. The service- this particular night t here was only one waitress and she was new. There was a few mistakes made and it took a while doe orders. She was nice though however they should have two people if they are training staff. Check it out if you are in the area.

My dance mom friends and I have been coming here while our kids are in dance class. There is an advertisement that clearing states Happy Hour from 4pm to 8pm. We got here at 5:45pm and was informed that there is no happy hour by Cindy because of covid. If that's the case why do you still have the sign advertised "Happy Hour 7 days a week from 4pm to 8pm" and if it's stopped because of "covid" that advertisement should be taken down. Then when brought to Cindy attention she got a nasty attitude. This will be my last time visiting this establishment.

I decided to give this place another try. Again menu was not very creative but the food was pretty good and large portions. Unlike the first time, the service was lacking. Even though there weren't many people in the restaurant the waiter was unattentive. If you are in area I would say stop by and check it out. It's a good neighborhood spot.

Always such a great time here. Food is good, drinks are good, and the vibe is really chill and inviting. I came here on a whim with my boyfriend and we had an excellent time. I couldn't eat most of the food (sushi) which all looked sooooo good.. but my general tso with brown rice was delish! This is not my first time here, and definitely not my last! I'll be back in a few months when I can have sushi again.

The food is mainly Thai fusion, and everything we ordered was delicious! I got the Singapore noodles with beef. It was very flavorful. We also ordered the Mongolian beef, which was very tender and delicious. We also ordered shrimp dumplings to share. They were more like shrimp shumai, but they were good as well. Their drinks pack a punch, but they taste great! I got the Tropical Sunset, which was very sweet and refreshing. Service was quick and attentive. While it was my first time here, I was really pleased with my experience. I would definitely go back to have a celebratory dinner - maybe a birthday, special occasion, or fancy night out.

The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful clean, welcoming, and we were seated quickly. Our waiter was pleasant at first, which made us excited for the evening and hopeful for a great experience. We started with the platter combination along with two frozen rum punches and a lychee lemonade. Unfortunately, the drinks were disappointing from the start. The rum punches were not frozen as requested, and when I brought it to the waiter's attention, he appeared unaware and stated that the machine "must not be cold as yet." What was disappointing was the lack of communication. Had we been informed beforehand, we could have simply ordered another drink. The platter combination also missed the mark. Everything tasted overcooked, and the wings seemed overly refried, making them hard and unpleasant to eat. For our main courses, I ordered the Thai shrimp fried rice, my younger daughter ordered the Singapore noodles with chicken, and my other had the chicken and broccoli. Sadly, the food quality did not match the beautiful atmosphere of the establishment. My fried rice had such a strong egg smell that I could not eat it at all. The Singapore noodles and chicken with broccoli were served warm instead of hot and fresh. What made this more disappointing was that this dinner was meant to be a special birthday celebration with my daughters. La Chai has the appearance and atmosphere of a restaurant with high standards, but the food quality, temperature, and attention to detail did not reflect that standard during our visit. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously because the restaurant has great potential, but consistency and food quality matter just as much as ambiance..

The food was so good that I didn't even get a chance to take pictures before half of it was already eaten! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and despite being a small restaurant, they were incredibly busy with dine-in customers, delivery orders, and pickups. Even with the rush, the food came out quickly, and the team handled everything smoothly without missing a beat. The only downside was that I came with my toddler, and they don't have any high chairs. It made it a bit of a hassle to keep him seated while we ate. I also noticed another family dealing with the same issue. I highly recommend that they purchase at least a couple of high chairs to keep on standby for families with young children. Other than that, it was a great experience. We ended up at our neighborhood buffet, which has been around since my high school days. There's something nostalgic about walking through those doors again. I'd fully planned to snap pics and do a proper foodie breakdown (charged my phone and everything!), but once we were seated, all bets were off. The food? Not five-star, but it's fresh--and that matters. The high customer turnover keeps the trays rotating constantly, so nothing ever feels like it's been sitting. The fruit station gets points for presentation--everything looked washed and vibrant (though I gave a few pieces the side-eye just in case ). For under $30, it hit the spot. Not a gourmet experience, but perfect for a low-key, satisfying outing. It's nice to have a go-to place that's stood the test of time, and still delivers on value.

Above all, the fish quality and freshness is excellent and the nigiri felt especially authentic (not too much rice, sizable cuts of fish done in the traditional style). The tuna crispy rice was also a bit different- served as a tartare w crispy rice chips for dipping. Very crispy and tasty though! Service was super attentive and very welcoming. Definitely will be coming back if I'm in the area.

The food was very fairly priced and the portions were huge. We got the pork soup dumplings, pork fried rice, szechuan chicken (which came with white rice), and pad see ew (which though not listed comes with pork, chicken, and shrimp). Everything was solid, but our favorite was the fried rice which had a ton of flavor. I liked the veggies that were in the chicken dish but there were just way too many of them compared to the chicken and I wasn't crazy about the sauce. The pad see ew wasn't made the traditional way I've had it with soy sauce and oyster sauce. It had some sort of orange sauce that tasted closer to a sweet and sour. It wasn't bad it was just not what I was hoping for. The soup dumplings were solid, no complaints there. And the fried rice was great, lots of flavor. Overall, I liked this place especially for the price but I'd probably order different things if I went back.
