Second time here but this time I brought my niece and nephew who were in town. We walked in on a Saturday and it was empty. Service is quick and fast and the show is fun and engaging as always. The hibachi combo comes with soup or salad and we all went with the salad. The dressing in it is delicious. Hibachi was tasteful, seasoned and cooked perfectly. The place is a little run down/ outdated but clean and inviting!

If you're craving Hibachi (and we're out of this Covid mess), you're in for a good time, with quality food at Natto. Upon arrival they are typically quick to seat you and are excellent in getting you menus and drinks right out of the gate (try the yummy creamy sake if you're into it). If you're ordering Hibachi your soup and salad will be brought our promptly so you're able to whet your appetite appropriately. The hibachi chef is very congenial and makes everyone feel like part of the show and experience. They are also accommodating to special requests (like no sauce or very rare orders - we typically get the sauce lighter as it can be overwhelming unnecessarily). The famed "squirting of the sake" and "catching of a vegetable in your mouth" for adults is a fun experience that the kids love to watch. Most kids also get a kick out of also attempting to catch a veggie and can get a squirt of water in their mouth or just at them for a quick laugh. The food is properly portioned and cooked so you'll enjoy it. They do not charge more for fried rice (unlike some hibachi chains). Kid's meal portions are ample and include a scoop of ice cream after everything's done. Sushi is of good quality, but not the main reason to come here (still a good option). We reserve Hibachi for kid celebrations and Natto does not disappoint. Don't be confused when you get the check and there are different names of the restaurant on them - it's probably from an old machine or previous name. From the attentive service, to the good food, reasonable prices and family friendly atmosphere it's great to have them in the neighborhood.

One of my favorite affordable sushi places in the city! The fish is fresh here and I love the huge selection that they have. My go to is botan ebi, uni, and ikura with quail egg ($1 extra to add quail egg but it's truly an experience). I tried the hibachi for the first time here and I regret not getting it before. It is SO good!

So...these people are extremely nice. I came in around 1 or 2, I think and I was the only one there so naturally I sat at a table instead of in front of the grill where they cook in front of you. No problem there! That's normal for hibachi steakhouses. So the food...I got hibachi shrimp and scallops ($28), a side of hibachi noodles ($3 AND the best thing I ordered), and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc ($6). Now, I'm from North Carolina and ever since I moved to New York not a SINGLE Japanese place has Yum Yum sauce or knows what Yum Yum sauce is. It's the white sauce for hibachi!!! Anyway, when they told me they had it AND ginger sauce, I screamed. Not the ginger dressing, the SAUCE and they were bomb. My rice was nice and tender, very tasty, however the veggies, shrimp and scallops were flavorless and the scallops were very rubbery, small and over cooked. The sauces do help it, but overall not the best hibachi. I haven't tried their sushi and maybe it was just a bad day, so I'll be back to try it again. Like I said, the staff are so so sweet.

Good spot in Brooklyn. Waitresses rush you to eat fast and bring the bill as soon as they think you are done. The chefs are a really cool entertainment. They are fun and interact with the audience while cooking. The food is tasty, but it can be better and the amount per person should be bigger. You basically stay hungry if you don't add sides or double portions. The place is dirty kinda, the bathrooms are nasty...so go with an empty stomach and pray to not get a stomachache in the spot. Jk Anyway, I'm willing to come back if I crave Hibachi. Prices are ok and location is convenient. I'm giving them 3 stars so maybe the service could improve.

Everything here was great. Only complaint i have is that my ramen came without broth. Other than that everything on these pics was amazing and worth the try. I'm not big on Japanese food but this was great.

Proof that these rolls are under $3 each even during dinner!

It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute. If I have a craving for some decent Japanese food, I would drive 20 minutes here for a meal anytime.

While wandering through Bed-Stuy on a weekday evening, my husband and I decided to try out this new…read moresushi spot. It wasn't terrible--but I had a lot of mixed feelings. Food: 3/5 I'm a huge sushi fan, so I was excited when I saw a deluxe sashimi set on the menu. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark. The scallop was thinly sliced and lacked the rich texture I was hoping for. The salmon and other cuts were decent, but short and oddly shaped--chunky yet small, which made the whole presentation feel a bit off for something labeled deluxe. We also tried to branch out and ordered the short rib entree. For $21, it was shockingly small--definitely a single-person portion, not sharable. I added extra ikura to a salmon donburi bowl for $2, but it was barely a teaspoon's worth--just enough to say it was there. Oddly, the salmon slices in that bowl were thinner than the sashimi we had just eaten, and overall, it left me still hungry even after sharing a maki roll. Lastly, my husband ordered a green salad, which somehow took the entire meal service to arrive. When it finally came, it was just plain romaine, cucumbers, radish, and dressing. For a dinner that clocked in at over $150 (after tip), we definitely left underwhelmed. Service: 3/5 This part wasn't bad, just confusing. We were seated quickly, but the pacing of the meal was strange. Our seaweed salad and soups came out promptly, but the green salad came last, after the hot dishes and nearly after my husband finished eating. Also, a small thing--but when I'm paying $16 for four oysters, I want to know what kind they are. The menu just said "West Coast oysters," but our server couldn't tell us the variety or origin. Not a huge deal, but it added to a general lack of polish that didn't quite match the pricing. I don't think I'd return. For the price, there are better sushi options in Brooklyn with higher quality, better portions, and clearer service. Still, I appreciate new spots opening up in the neighborhood, and I'm always happy to try something new. Hopefully they refine the menu and service with time.

They'd been on my radar for a while…read moreand we stopped in on a Saturday evening when we wanted dinner but not anything too heavy. This fit the bill exactly. We started with the salmon belly carpaccio which I'd say isn't really a carpaccio because the salmon isn't sliced as thinly as you'd expect. But! I mention that just to set expectations. Nomenclature aside, it's an excellent appetizer. Served in a truffle and ponzu sauce, the salmon is lightly seared which yields two different textures to the fish. It practically melts in your mouth. Highly recommend this dish. For my entree I went with the trio don, which is 6 pieces of sashimi served over your choice of plain or sushi rice (sushi rice for me). The fish was fresh and flavorful. The portion was perfect for me. My boyfriend ordered a yellowtail roll and enjoyed that as well. We also shared a carafe of the cold house sake. I'd definitely come back and try more items on the menu. It's great for sharing and trying new dishes. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable.
