Second time here but this time I brought my niece and nephew who were in town. We walked in on a Saturday and it was empty. Service is quick and fast and the show is fun and engaging as always. How do they do it??? In Park Slope of all places, not only do they have a hibachi table - they have TWO of them (each one able to seat 16 people). Plus they have some of the best lunch specials I've seen! $9 for a bento box is unheard of!!! The sushi was okay - probably not the best idea to be the only people dining in (yolo). They were doing a lot of delivery orders though. The pork katsu bento was where it's at though. So much food. Also got the age tofu and the miso eggplant as appetizers. This is the worst hibachi service I have ever gone to in New York City. I have been to numerous and the service was absolutely awful and hibachi show was unimpressive and pretty awful. The food wasn't bad but the whole reason you go to these hibachi places is because of the fun hibachi show and it was terrible. There was absolutely no engagement with us from the cook and the servers were not friendly. If you're craving Hibachi (and we're out of this Covid mess), you're in for a good time, with quality food at Natto. Upon arrival they are typically quick to seat you and are excellent in getting you menus and drinks right out of the gate (try the yummy creamy sake if you're into it). If you're ordering Hibachi your soup and salad will be brought our promptly so you're able to whet your appetite appropriately. The hibachi chef is very congenial and makes everyone feel like part of the show and experience. They are also accommodating to special requests (like no sauce or very rare orders - we typically get the sauce lighter as it can be overwhelming unnecessarily). The famed "squirting of the sake" and "catching of a vegetable in your mouth" for adults is a fun experience that the kids love to watch. Most kids also get a kick out of also attempting to catch a veggie and can get a squirt of water in their mouth or just at them for a quick laugh. The food is properly portioned and cooked so you'll enjoy it. They do not charge more for fried rice (unlike some hibachi chains). Kid's meal portions are ample and include a scoop of ice cream after everything's done. Sushi is of good quality, but not the main reason to come here (still a good option). We reserve Hibachi for kid celebrations and Natto does not disappoint. Don't be confused when you get the check and there are different names of the restaurant on them - it's probably from an old machine or previous name. From the attentive service, to the good food, reasonable prices and family friendly atmosphere it's great to have them in the neighborhood. read more

Super speedy delivery from seamless, but that was the positive... Ordered hot and sour soup, pork fried dumplings, and shrimp fried rice. I requested that they make the fried rice very spicy. They literally doused the fried rice in I think sriracha, making the rice pasty and mushy. It was honestly quite inedible and I threw away the majority of the dish. Hot and sour soup had an odd fishy taste. I loved that they used so many ingredients and potato starch to thicken the soup, but it was too sour and fishy. One of my favorite affordable sushi places in the city! The fish is fresh here and I love the huge selection that they have. My go to is botan ebi, uni, and ikura with quail egg ($1 extra to add quail egg but it's truly an experience). I tried the hibachi for the first time here and I regret not getting it before. So...these people are extremely nice. I came in around 1 or 2, I think and I was the only one there so naturally I sat at a table instead of in front of the grill where they cook in front of you. No problem there! That's normal for hibachi steakhouses. So the food...I got hibachi shrimp and scallops ($28), a side of hibachi noodles ($3 AND the best thing I ordered), and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc ($6). Now, I'm from North Carolina and ever since I moved to New York not a SINGLE Japanese place has Yum Yum sauce or knows what Yum Yum sauce is. It's the white sauce for hibachi!!! Anyway, when they told me they had it AND ginger sauce, I screamed. Not the ginger dressing, the SAUCE and they were bomb. My rice was nice and tender, very tasty, however the veggies, shrimp and scallops were flavorless and the scallops were very rubbery, small and over cooked. The sauces do help it, but overall not the best hibachi. I haven't tried their sushi and maybe it was just a bad day, so I'll be back to try it again. The food was cooked in front of us pretty quickly. Which I didn't mind because it's the same show each time LOL. And I usually don't like when it takes forever to cook the meat because my rice will get cold so quickly so this was nice. I came here for my brothers birthday and at the end of the dinner, they gave him a cup of ice cream and played a recording of happy birthday over the loudspeaker so everyone in the restaurant was forced to celebrate with us which I loved ha ha. We did not feel like driving into the city with 3 kids. We made reservations here and i regret it so much. The place is dim, not welcoming at all. For this place to be in park slope, it should be much cleaner and nicer. The price for the food is ok but the food isn't that amazing. The chef making the food was nice but didn't engage the 8 guests sitting in front of him, 3 being my kids. I would honestly never return here. Good spot in Brooklyn. Waitresses rush you to eat fast and bring the bill as soon as they think you are done. The chefs are a really cool entertainment. They are fun and interact with the audience while cooking. The food is tasty, but it can be better and the amount per person should be bigger. You basically stay hungry if you don't add sides or double portions. The place is dirty kinda, the bathrooms are nasty...so go with an empty stomach and pray to not get a stomachache in the spot. I've come many times to Natto and I always love their habachi. Great for birthday celebrations or really any special dinner. They have all the classics. I like getting their combo habachis - for my birthday I got the filet mignon and salmon and it was fantastic. It comes with soup or salad (or get both for just $2 extra like I do), fried rice, and shrimp (2 pcs). The food tastes fresh and perfectly seasoned. It comes with the traditional ginger and horseradish sauces that are so good I could literally drink them straight. The steak and salmon both came out cooked to perfection. Omg I have never experienced such terrible service, the waiter is so rude and aggressive for no reason. They are not accommodating what so ever, me and my friend like mushrooms but my sister doesn't like mushrooms so we ask if they can just give us the mushrooms and not my sister, usually that wouldn't be an issue this lady shouts "No no mushrooms, if you want mushrooms all have to get it" very aggressive and harsh I was astonished I was trying to process what just happened. Food was on point!!! After spending all day in church we needed some theatrics in our life. There aren't much hibachi places in brooklyn and after the suggestion of a friend decided to try. Great deal for the price! It's getting more and more difficult to find affordable places to eat in Park Slope, so I'm glad to have found Natto! I got a seaweed salad for $5, futomaki roll for $6, and shrimp tempura roll for $6. Nothing was extraordinary and the shrimp was kind of rubbery, but I didn't need anything fancy and this definitely satisfied my sushi craving for a good price. Can't speak on hibachi quality though. I'm not sure why this place has so little reviews when it has been a staple in the neighborhood for years. This is a slam dunk evening if you have kids, with great food, entertainment, and decent assortment of appetizers to hit the spot in anyone's palette. My kids love it, so much so the staff knows my little guy and welcomes us every time we come. If you are going to make the leap for the first time, I would recommend the filet mignon over the regular steak and/or any of the seafood. The chicken is good but is sometimes dry at these types of places. The food is made with butter, but at least my kids order the kids veggie platter with fried rice and eat every bite!! It is a decent price and offers have specials on sushi, but why come to hibachi if you aren't there for the show :) If you haven't been yet, make the trip. This was a 2.5 star experience for me. We came here primarily to introduce our kids to the entertainment that can be gleaned from a hibachi meal. Natto was perfect for that purpose. It is one of the very few Hibachi places I was able to find in Brooklyn. The kids loved the fire, the tricks, and didn't mind that the chef often missed shooting food in people's mouths. I guess the meal went wrong for me when I tasted the ridiculous amount of butter in the fried rice. It was so much butter if didn't taste like fried rice anymore. I also found the sushi (which I ordered on the side) to be very sub-par so stick to the hibachi. The chicken and steak tasted fine (maybe a little over-sauced and salted) and I definitely enjoyed having sake shot into my mouth but now that the kids have tried hibachi we can probably check it off our list for another decade. read more
