China Town The best authentic traditional chinese food in El Paso and I dont think there is anyone that compete on this one anytime soon. Everything that you would expect from a chinese restaurant is here. Noodles, dumpling, bao are all in house handmade, We came around 2:30pm so its not busy but they said it can get very busy and food can take 15 mins to arrive to your table as they are made to order. We are a group of 5 so we all order 1 dish each and we all share it so we can sample them Ambiance: you're greeted by a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. Kung Pao Chicken and Mongolian Beef. Nice amount of heat, but otherwise flavorless. That's all I can say. The food was overpriced, and underseasoned. The chicken seemed boiled and was still wet and soggy from the water. This also watered down the sauce, which absolutely had no flavor. Just blah. Very disappointed. read more

I have no picture for the food since it was never given to me. I came with a large party, reserved two days in advance, and even ordered duck in advance. To get to the restaurant and had to sit separately from each other because our table was given and were told if we could wait for them to leave. My order never came in and had to cancel. When my kid refuses to eat his food I will tell him to clean his plate because there are hungry people in the China Town restaurant. read more

We are from Las Cruces and I have been searching for a good place to get shrimp fried rice. Chinatown was an excellent choice and my shrimp fried rice as well as my wife's dish were both excellent. The service was very good and I really liked the decor. I would definitely recommend the shrimp fried rice; it had plenty of large shrimp and the serving was quite ample . We will be back! read more

Went to China Town last night for dinner with the family. We order some appetizers which came out pretty quick. Ate too quick to snap photos. Our meals were brought out as we were finishing up our appetizers. Service was great, drink refills were either brought or asked if needed. The staff were all very cordial and attentive. The food was all very delicious. The flavors felt more attentic in comparison to other places we've tried. We definitely enjoyed our evening and will be returning. read more

Pay attention owners and managers. We have been pleased with our many visits and have been recommending China Town to lots of people. Rice cakes and dishes not found often in El Paso. But.... service and overall cleanliness is dropping off. Our table was sticky and had to be wiped down, my menu was covered in hot chili oil, inside and out and a description of a dish was "it is fried fish with seasoning"???? This restaurant was very good! The ambience did feel like authentic Chinatown right here in El Paso! Not only that, but the service was good. The food was great and the prices were pretty good. I will say the portions are very large so bring your family because it'll take a couple people to eat each thing, but that's good - Moore value for the price! Had called to make a reservation and to order the duck special since it is recommended to order an hour before sitting down. We ordered and paid it a few hours ahead to make sure we were going to get the duck and still waited over thirty minutes when sat down to get the meal. My wife and I were craving Chinese and Cruces Chinese is lacking so I found the China Town website (El Paso). The short trip was well worth it. We started out with the hot and sour soup. A very large bowl that we shared and it was amazing!!!! We also ordered the spicy schezuan wings, chicken bao, schezuan chicken and kung pao chicken. All were perfectly done and delicious. I especially enjoyed the wings and kung pao chicken...exceptional! The service was incredible and the atmosphere was perfect. This is clearly a five star restaurant and we will return many times. I thought this place was a neat find. Very nice Chinese dining experience, that feels like an original concept to El Paso. I personally liked the food, but for people with huge appetites, it might not be as satisfying. Food is nothing compelling. Wait staff only knows how to say "of course", and "I apologize but there is nothing I can do." We asked what beers they had because the menu clearly reads All Beers 1/2 Price (during specific time) we were clearly good to go. Afterwards the full price was charged on the check. If I could give this place more stars for the food I would. Honey Chicken was outstanding, some of the best I've had. Wish I lived in El Paso because I would order takeout all the time. I was so looking forward to trying this new restaurant based on other reviews. Sad to say, the food was not what I expected. The restaurant ambiance is very nice. Service was good however, the server did not recommend a lunch special. After I ordered I noticed a dish that I would have tried was on the lunch menu and not the regular menu. What I did get was Mongolian beef drowned in chili oil. It was so oily and super spicy. I was expecting a sweet and spicy sauce. It was so spicy that I had trouble eating it. Also they gave me one small cup of rice. I should have asked for more, I guess. The worst part was that my entree came out before my husband's by about seven minutes. They should have come out together. Had the spring rolls which were okay but not the crispy wrappers that I am used to. Husband's sweet and sour pork was okay, also not enough rice. All in all after a $60 lunch for two, I probably would not go back. read more

The food was great. Finally El Paso has a Taiwanese Beef noodle soup! The others are not Taiwanese style beef noodle soup and taste watered down but not here. And this is the inly Chinese restaurant that has this. The Xiao Long Bao was amazing and better than Ding Tai Fun and Noodles and dumplings. Service was great and the ambiance was super cool and casual. We ordered the black pepper tenderloin, lo mein noodles, wonton soup, string beans, shrimp and pork potstickers, and honey glazed chicken. The best dish by far was the black pepper tenderloin; it was super tender and the sauce and veggies were amazing. The food is cooked to order and each dish comes out when it's ready so don't expect for all of your dishes to come out at the same time. My only complaint is that the entrees were served with a very small bowl of rice, which meant that for five people, only three people had rice. We had to order additional bowls of rice for two others. As the dishes are meant to be served family style, my only recommendation would be to also serve a large bowl of rice, depending on the number of diners. Other than that, no other complaints. Kind of pricey. I ordered 2 entres to go and it was more than $50 tip incl. It was only the Kung pao chicken and Mongolian beef. I'm sure you can impress a date because it looked real nice inside. There is not a dish I don't like. The honey glazed chicken has the right amount of heat. The mushu pork is delicious along with a chocolate boa for dessert. A true Jewel on the Westside.
