The online receipt and the drivers receipt. This doesn't seem like good business practice to me.

We used to love the food- it was consistently good but now, not so much. Sometimes too greasy, sometimes, too salty, sometimes no flavor at all. Now, they have some new online ordering system that isn't accurate and the restaurant decided to charge me extra without my authorization. On top of the $5.00 delivery fee (which doesn't include the driver tip) and a $.99 service fee, they decided that I was going to be charged extra for a substitution which the online system didn't charge- it only showed up on the delivery drivers slip when he showed up at the house. I showed the driver my receipt from the online purchase and signed his receipt with the total I was given online, $56.31. A member of the restaurant called me after closing, after 9pm, to tell me that she was charging me the extra $1.08 for a substitution we had made. I said no, I'm paying what the receipt said online when I completed the purchase. She said, no, there was a mistake with the system and I needed to pay the extra charge. I said look, I ordered a dinner combo and didn't get the soup that is included with the meal, I asked for white rice instead of the pork fried rice which comes with the meal (which is also less expensive on the menu) and now you're going to charge me extra for one chicken teriyaki instead of an egg roll which again cost the same amount on the menu. The failure of your system is not my fault? Yes, they unflinchingly are. How unfair that they are leaving this to the delivery driver to hash out. He couldn't even explain it to me and showed me an alternate receipt he had in the car which matched my online receipt. I told the woman I was not doing business with them any more. She said ok. It's too bad. I like to support local businesses in my town but I'll go to the next town now, to get better service.

I ordered some take out. I think their food was typical American Chinese. Nothing fancy and taste & prices are avarage.

Decided on Chinese food for lunch this afternoon!

It's a tad far from home in North Deering, bit of it's as good as I am hearing, it will be worth the trip. Menu on line was easy to navigate landing me at the "Dinner specials" page. A great variety of, more than some of the other places we've tried and way more than our local Chinese place. I chose the Straw mushroom with snow peas with boneless pork and hubby chose their General Tso chicken with chicken fingers for his appetizer. Both requested the wanton soup which is an upchargw from the other soup offerings. I really like the format for ordering on line with sections for different options like soup, rice, and appetizer. Most places you get the appetizer assigned and charged if you want to change it. Not here, you can choose! Yay! I arrived a few minutes after I was texted my order was ready. Signage was clear and easy to read. Ample parking in the shared parking lot. Upon entering you can see it is a take out centered type restaurant but does offer booth or table seating. It was a busy Saturday night and they had everything operating smoothly. Walked up to counter area and was greeted immediately, gave my phone number and name and my food was presented. Made my payment preference on line which included a tip, made sure to not double tip. Then I was off and running. At home I unpacked the food and was surprised to find the wanton soup was a deep brown color, unusual since most wanton soups are a clear yellow. Large sliced zucchini and carrots accompanied the hand made wanton stars. They had make them with the meat neatly wrapped in dough and remaining dough behind the ball like a shooting star with a tail. WOW! The taste was unique, on the spicy side with a taste of Thai chili sauce swirled in. Very tasty but too hot, my taste buds would have not worked for the rest of my meal. On to the Straw mushroom and snow pea meal with fried rice and boneless pork. Oh My!! So fresh and tasty the peas were numerous as were the mushrooms. Fried rice was excellent as was the boneless pork, it overly cooked and super tender yum! So what are ve heard is true and more. Sadly I could find no delivery options for this establishment so take out it will be.

Well, I hate to have to write this, because we've had a couple of very good meals within the last 6…read moremonths. But I hope my critique will help them improve, at least the last 2 dishes I had. (I won't speak to my husband's meals.) First, the orange chicken, which I had a few weeks ago. It was mostly good. My one criticism (and it's a big one!) is to dial way back on the batter. It should be mostly chicken, with a light, crispy tangy coating. What I had was mostly ALL batter, with little discernible meat inside. Not appealing, and it certainly makes me hesitant to ever order it again. The second bad meal was yesterday. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce. I was anticipating lovely tender chicken, infused with a delicious fragrant garlic flavor. What I got was tough chicken (that obviously skipped the velveting process) and bland, tasteless sauce. No garlic was present, as far as I could tell. It was the most nondescript Chinese dish I've ever had. And I'm talking eating at Chinatown in Philly and Boston, and all over the U.S. for the last 50 years. Both of these experiences make me feel as though they've given up on trying to do the best they can. And it's also made me decide not to return-at least in the foreseeable future. But I hold out hope that when I decide to give them a third try, it was be as good an experience as I had before these disappointing ones.

We came in on Saturday night knowing we would have to wait so we went to the bar. They had a special cocktail that night and it was so good I wish I could remember what it was called but you have to try whatever their specialty drink of the night is. Since we had a large party we ordered a lot because everything sounds so good so we did a bunch of Dim Sum and a few mans as well. We went with: Empire Eggrolls Lobster Rangoons Char Siu Baos Spicy Pork Belly Buns Pork Potsticks Shanghai Soup Dumplings Shu Mai Curry Udon Kung Pao Chicken Honestly everything was great but the stand outs for me were the Lobster Rangoons, Char Siu Baos, Pork Potsticks, Curry Udon, and the Kung Pao Chicken. First of Lobster Rangoons I mean how do you not. Portland Maine being Lobster Paradise this just makes sense and is a must try staple here. Just takes your normal Chinese Crab Rangoon to the next level. The Char Siu Baos where the best BBQ Pork Bun I have ever had. I know these can be hit or miss sometimes but Empire it doing it right truly the best I have had. The Pork Potsticks were also great. A top 3 dumpling I have had. I honestly wasn't expecting much but these were amazing. The Curry Udon was kind of a funny story. I said we should try this and my friends like me know it was vegan but for once that didn't bother me. This was great and so full of flavor. Plus you can't go wrong with Udon. Kung Pao Chicken is always my go to and this one takes the cake. The Chicken is lighty battered and so full of flavor. One of the best I have ever had. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything we had at Empire Chinese and I would 100% go back and do it all again. I'll end this review the way we started dinner. Lobsta Goooooonnnnsss!

As a bariatric patient I can't eat too much in one go, so we opted to go with dumplings and drinks, and it was totally the way to go. Drinks: * Strawberry Mojito: sweet, flavorful, and not over powering on the mint. 10/10 from the husband. * Margarita: sour, strong, and they were so wonderful to make it a passion fruit one for me as well. Just a bit small for me. 9/10 Food: * Shanghai soup dumplings: soft and flavorful. Full of filling, but lacking in soup base so it didn't really hit the spot. 7/10 * Steamed pork dumplings: large and in charge! The rice wrapper was a lovely texture but too delicate, resulting in completely falling apart. 8/10 * Garlic bok choy: Converted my husband to actually enjoying bok choy instead of questioning it at every turn. Only wishing it was more garlic forward! 8/10 Go to Empire Chinese Kitchen for a lovely evening out for food or drink! You won't be disappointed.

I haven't been to hibachi grill in at least 15 years...nothing has changed. Exactly the same. The grill guy was very enthusiastic, funny, and gave my daughter a balloon when he was finished cooking. The food portions are generous. We both brought about half our meal. The food was fresh. The flavors were average...like they intentionally made them basic for the most common denominator.
