My favorite Chinese restaurant here in Rohnert Park. I've been coming here for a couple of years they are always friendly and fast, more importantly delicious! They have the bomb war wonton soup with shrimp & chicken and Chinese pea pods, but that broth I could just stick a straw in it umm perfection! When it's cold out or if I have a cold and not feeling well it's my go to soup, warms you from the inside and puts a smile on your face. The potstickers are so good as well as the pork chow mein! The sweet-and-sour pork is crispy sweet tender deliciousness! But my all time favorite is the Lemon chicken it's deep fried crispy tender chicken (no wonder I love it deep-fried hello) and the lemon sauce is not too sweet or oily. They are doing to go they have a table outside next to the entrance and they bring the food out to you. so it's easy Peezy and crazy good! when you're craving some Chinese you're gonna love this place! Went to this Chinese restaurant after being at Graton Casino all afternoon. The food was okay but the prices are too HIGH. We eat at many Chinese restaurants and for the quality and portions of what they serve it was too much. At another place we get the exact same food for $40-$50. At this place we paid $80. BEWARE: The waitress NEVER went to check on our table and just went to take our food. As far as I know that is her job. When I went to pay, after paying I was asked by the worker if I left the tip on the table. I said, what tip? You never went to my table to see how we were doing or anything. The worker then rudely says "Okay, okay go. Get out, get out .", while making a hand gesture for us to go out and leave the restaurant. 0 stars for customer service at this place. Their potsticker filling seamed like it was under cooked and bland... their chow mein was utterly tasteless except for the vegetables which I think were more abundant than the noodles and their general chicken coating was overly sweet. Overall I can not find anything redeeming about the meal that was more expensive than any other Chinese restaurant in the area. We enjoy the food here -- when it comes out to us. Lately there has been a problem with getting our food to the table. They seem to be more concerned with to-go orders than they are with our dine-in order. Three times ago we were served our soup but then we had to wait over 35 minutes for anything else to come to our table. We were sitting near the door and were seeing all sorts of food for the delivery services going out yet they couldn't slip our food order in there anywhere so we could be served. Finally, we had to ask for the rest of our meal and were told it would only be a few minutes. When it failed to show up after 20 minutes, we asked again. Again, we started having an issue with food coming to our table a few nights ago. We got the soup after about 15 minutes, my wife got her food, but mine wasn't ready. Again, after waiting too long, we had to inquire about my food. There were maybe 6 other tables with people at them and not that many to-go orders being cooked. There were 3 or 4 servers. And don't get me going about the male server who can't take the time to listen to what I'm telling him when he finally served our food! Regarding food quality. If you order the fried wontons, it most likely will not be fresh. We've received cold, rubbery fried wontons a few times now and won't be ordering those again unless they can guarantee that they will make them fresh. Overall, meh. I ordered the chicken corn soup ($10+ for a SMALL order) and the beef chow fun to go. The online ordering system said it would take 25 minutes, which seemed long to me-- it actually ended up taking 35 minutes. The soup was BOILING hot (like burn-your-mouth hot) and lacked salt-- you can't really screw up chicken, corn, eggs, and broth, so I think this will be much better once I'm able to get the leftovers home and add salt to it. Portions are good sized - but of course that means nothing if the food isn't good - and this food is pretty danged good "Americanized" Chinese. Came to celebrate two Leap Year birthdays tonight. We are new to the area and have never been here so we wanted to try a good variety. We started with salt & pepper wings, shumai, crab puffs and wor wonton soup. The wings were mostly salt with no pepper but still good, juicy and cooked well. Crab puffs were just ok, wor wonton bland but ok... shumai came out towards end of dinner and was not good at all. Not sure what was in it, but it was really bland and nobody liked it. We had chicken chow mien which everyone seemed to like, never tried it myself. Next was the Mongolian beef, which they burnt the chili's so bad that the entire dish tasted burnt. We told our server but she just chuckled and said they must have had things to hot.... Yes, you certainly did. That dish was awful and stayed on the table when we left. Last was generals chicken, it was ok at best. Overall this was a 2 star quality dinner that's getting a one because they did nothing about the burnt dinner they served and still charged us for. You will never expect the beauty inside of the building located in an awkward corner just off Highway 101 and the 116 exit. Beautiful decor, very welcoming. Service was average nothing too spectacular, our server was friendly, however we only saw her when she took our order, when she brought out most of our entrees, and of course to drop the check. She was MIA the in betweens, we had to get up and asked for water from the busser, and go to the counter to pay because she never came back. Dinner was delightful, everything except the fried rice was five star. The rice looked great, but there was a slight burnt after taste. As if they burnt rice in the wok, threw it out, never washed the wok, and started on our fried rice. Would we come back? Absolutely. Every vegetable in our plates looked fresh. Cooked perfectly, nothing was soggy, overly seasoned or overcooked (minus the burnt take of the rice). We might have better luck with the rice on our next visit. read more

We got home and discovered hard fried shrimp, soggy General Chao's chicken, bland sweet and sour pork, undercooked fried rice, and overcooked vegetables in the braised tofu. The reason for the 4.5 stars, and not 5, is the Shanghai style Dumplings was quite doughy and didnt have any soup in them. The house fried rice and chow mein, salt and pepper pork chops, walnut prawns, and princess chicken were spot on. Overall I would recommend this place if you want Chinese. Disrespectful to my family? My wife and I and my two children walked into China Village at exactly 8:30, knowing it closes at 9pm. An absolutely insulting experience. We got the not-so-uncommon condescending attitude typical of an inexpensive restaurant like this. I've eaten here before but didn't experience this!?! Maybe it's because this time I was with my bi-racial family. Within 1 minute, two waitresses, in rapid succession, tried to intimidate us into ordering by loudly blurting out only the crappiest americanized-Chinese Dishes in a purposefully antagonizing way; "you want pot stickers, sweet and sour pork, lo mein, you order now!..." it worked. They ran us out of there in less than 5 minutes. I had no choice, I can't let my children think that it's ever ok to put up with condescending or racist people. We're no strangers to this cuisine, I have an industrial-kitchen wok burner that sounds like a jet, and I make efforts to put out the amazing food we've enjoyed while living in SF.
