I love the food here! Nothing is ever greasy. Everything is always hot and freshly made when ordered. They also offer gf dishes.

Disrespectful to my family? My wife and I and my two children walked into China Village at exactly 8:30, knowing it closes at 9pm. An absolutely insulting experience. We got the not-so-uncommon condescending attitude typical of an inexpensive restaurant like this. I've eaten here before but didn't experience this!?! Maybe it's because this time I was with my bi-racial family. Within 1 minute, two waitresses, in rapid succession, tried to intimidate us into ordering by loudly blurting out only the crappiest americanized-Chinese Dishes in a purposefully antagonizing way; "you want pot stickers, sweet and sour pork, lo mein, you order now!..." it worked. They ran us out of there in less than 5 minutes. I had no choice, I can't let my children think that it's ever ok to put up with condescending or racist people. We're no strangers to this cuisine, I have an industrial-kitchen wok burner that sounds like a jet, and I make efforts to put out the amazing food we've enjoyed while living in SF. For good local Chinese food and service, go to Hang Ah Dim Sum in Santa Rosa (closed this night) It's not owned by Frank Chui, like the one in SF, but the best you can do this far North. read more

The food here is definitely passable, large portions (since my teenager likes to eat here, this is a must), staff is friendly enough. Probably the best Chinese around. We often get salt & pepper shrimp, mu shu pork, Shanghai dumplings, kung pao chicken, and orange chicken. All of it hits. Service is interesting. We try to get takeout but it tastes better there. read more

There are no 'good' Chinese restaurants in West County. This was one of the few I haven't tried til today. We ordered a large takeout order for 5 people. The portions are massive (would have served 10) so it hurts to say negative things about the food. The vegetarian moo shoo, garlic eggplant, and veg chow mien were all good. Lots of varied veggies and well prepared. We haven't even gotten around to tasting the veg mushu. Our meat eating friends liked the Hunan Chicken and the beef dish they ordered. But the potstickers and fried calamari were, in a word, horrible. Both were encased in the thickest, chewiest least appetizing breading I've ever had in a restaurant. As an Asian friend said, you can buy frozen potstickers that are much better than these. Wish I'd taken pics but was so stunned by the yuckiness that I forgot. What I can never understand is why anyone would open a restaurant and then serve mediocre (or worse) food. It really wouldn't take much at all to do a more delicate breading and fry these til they are crisp. Surely the staff eats there and has noticed that the fried food is appalling. Wouldn't they like to eat a little better. So, China Village owners, please make an early New Year's resolution to take an honest look at your food, especially the gummy, bread fried things, and do what any self respecting Chinese restaurant would do. Ordered takeout had the lunch special braised tofu with chow mein. Noticed pieces of beef and a shrimp tail in my chow mein. Not so great when you're a vegetarian.... Husband ordered the Kung pao prawns with chow mein , had 3 shrimps total. Never have had an issue when eating there, definitely recommend eating at the restaurant than ordering takeout. read more

First time ordering deliver in this area. Their online ordering made the entire process a lot smoother. China town gave an ETA of 35 minutes and got it there in 25! I was very hungry so this was a wonderful surprise. Minimal packaging was used which gives them a thumbs up in my book due to less plastic waste. I bought the house special fried rice was did notttt disappoint. It was flavorful and the portion was generous! I will be ordering here when I want some good authentic Chinese take out. read more

I have eaten at this restaurant several times and the food was delicious. The last time I got take out the food was horrible! Did not taste like the same food and the brown rice was rancid! Ok so let me say starting off I'm very picky about my hot and sour soup. This place does a fantastic job at it. Their fried wontons are awesome. I could eat their pork fried rice for days. We usually get beef or veggie chow mein. My other half has been feeling sick( not Covid) and we got the hunan chicken today. To spicy for me but he loves it. Helped clear his sinuses. The people who work there are really nice. Always have my order ready within 15-20 mins. I only discovered this place two weeks ago and we have been back twice. I'm just mad after 10 years in the area I'm only just finding them. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

my husband and i have been coming here for their lunch specials for years! ever since they opened!! we've always loved it and have been returning customers. not sure what happened post covid, but their service has gone downhill 100% last two visits in the cafe we've been really rushed to order? strangest weirdest thing, waiters in such a hurry to get you to choose what you want so quickly.. and when you say please give us a few more minutes, they just stand there? sometimes a bit to the side but WTH? also, we chose not to tip this last visit. waiter was just rude! and as i went to pay at the register a woman had the audacity to ask me to leave a TIP??!!!! WHAT the actual i'm sorry but you don't get a tip for just bringing us a plate of food and never returning to our table to ask how everything is? or to fill water? or to make sure we had soy sauce or condiments? she was SO RUDE! i said NO tip, sorry! she was not happy. but really people, you earn a tip for good service? am i wrong? so really disappointed because china village has always been out favorite chinese restaurant. we won't be returning, and really wouldn't recommend them anymore either. clean up your act china village. i hope y'all are reading and learning from your yelp reviews. read more

Ordered to-go meal. At the front door there is a Plexiglas over half of the door with a table underneath. Pleasant employees helped me, one who took my order and another a bit later noticed I was standing there and also offered to help. We ordered house special chow mein which included a lot of beef, pork, chicken and shrimp; walnut shrimp, nicely flavored, however there is a rich sauce over the fried shrimp so it will be a bit soft once you get it home, however very tasty; pot stickers, which were well friend and held together nicely; Mongolian beef, which was surprisingly, but pleasantly spicy. Total order was about $52 and will be enough for two people for at least two meals. read more

WOW!! I don't even know where to begin. I Really don't like to review a restaurant until I've been there twice but I'm gonna break my rules today because this place was fantastic. Last night my stove gave out at almost 9 o'clock at night. There aren't many choices for food unless you want fast food. I do not. I have avoided coming here. My grandfather George Conley, did probably 90% of the construction/remodeling That took place I would say from the 80s until about 10 years ago. That was my grandfather's place to go get coffee every morning with the boys. Now he goes to Marvin's. And it makes me sad. So that's the reason I've avoided it. Moving along. I'm an IDIOT. The food was so freaking good. Maybe my expectations were low because usually if you get Chinese right before closing it's not that good at any restaurant, let's be honest. In the Cotati - Rohnert Park area anyway. I'm not saying names. I was just going to order some white rice to go with my baby daddy's steak and I was going to cook it on the barbecue. But I made the mistake of looking at the pictures of the coconut prawns, the beef chow fun & orange chicken. It was over. That's exactly what I ordered along with some house chow mein. ** Those prawns were to die for. I am so picky when it comes to any kind of seafood. For me it has to be cooked perfectly. Oh and it was. Before I even got anything else I eat six prawns and I was full. But let's not fool ourselves I love to eat and I managed to stuff and some beef chow fun and some of that beautiful orange chicken. I have some chow mein this morning. I don't know what to say other than every dish was superb. It was $60 for the four items. Best $60 I've spent in a long time. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, is BEAUTIFULLY decorated and plenty of parking. Staff were friendly. Especially since we hit them with this order at the end of the night. I can honestly say I wouldn't have been nice. You always get that one person that walks in right before closing that you just want to, well you get it....I felt bad being that person. But I'm sure glad I was cause that food was so good. Fresh, flavorful. Not too salty. The noodles perfectly cooked. I can go on and on. My family and I was starving so I couldn't get pictures last night. But when I go get my nails done today I'm going to get an order of those prawns. I found my new favorite Chinese restaurant. Service here as spectacular, their water service was incredible and staff makes sure you're taken care of. Everything is new and updated, a stark contrast from the outside. I ordered their sweet and sour pork with Mongolian beef and a side of pot stickers. Their soup came out with an egg roll as part of the lunch special, it was delicious! Their wonton soup was made to perfection, the egg roll was perfectly crispy. The pot stickers came out and they were humongous, extremely tasty and loved the spicy garlic ginger sauce they give on the side, it's to die for!! I then enjoyed their green tea and the rest of my food came out. The sweet and sour pork was very crispy with their delicious chow mein, be advised their lunch portions are humongous. I loved the sweet and sour sauce, it's clearly freshly made in house and the Mongolian beef had a nice spice to it, everything was complimented perfectly. Various other Chinese restaurants in the area are overpriced with questionable ingredients and outdated decor, everything was made fresh and perfectly done. I'm a new fan of this location and will definitely return ASAP. The quality of the food speaks for itself, when I also see Chinese individuals speaking Mandarin to the staff ordering I know their food is as authentic as it's gets! Delicious! read more

I had a craving for fresh vegetables at a Chinese restaurant and thought I'd try China Village for lunch. The dining room was expansive and comfortable. I was waited on immediately and the soup was brought right away. I ordered the shrimp with fresh vegetables and in no time it was at my table. It was a plate heaped with vegetables with vegetable fried rice on the side. Everything was fresh and tasty, just what I was looking for. The vegetables were cooked right, crunchy but not hard. The only thing I would add is that the food was not as hot as it should have been. Perhaps it should have been stir fried just a little bit more so that everything was hot when served. The resturant is modern clean with very attentive staff. I find their prices to be reasonable and very decent portions. My hot and sour soup was full of ingredients and served piping hot. The veggie stir fry was well seasoned and good variety of greens that were cooked to keep the fresh flavor and crispy as opposed to overcooked and soggy. I go their often for lunch as for the most part they have been very consistent on quality and value. The only exception is the egg rolls which have been greasy and minimal fillings. read more

I ordered Walnut chicken which I always order and this time it had zero walnuts. when I called back to tell them all they said was "the owner is on vacation" sorry but did the owner make my plate or the chef in the kitchen?!! then they said come back for the walnuts yeah I'm going to waste more gas to get the walnuts you forgot to put in my "WALNUT chicken" plus this dish came with some lettuce under the Walnut chicken which I loved when it mixed with the sauce but not even the lettuce was in the dish. If I could give zero stars I would. My boyfriend and I have ordered from here before and never had any issues until tonight. We order through DoorDash and went to pick it up only to wait over 30 minutes after the pick up time. When we walked in the host ignored us as well as other employees we waited for ten minutes before they asked us if we had an order. Then after 30 minutes still no food we asked her when it would be done and she said "I don't know" didn't offer to check or anything and dismissed other customers and doordashers who were also waiting a very long time. Finally we get our food and I went back inside to ask for soy sauce. The lady put her hand up in my face when I asked, and then finally came over to me and said "okay what were you talking about?" And I again asked for some soy sauce. This place has good food but the staff is horrible the fact she put her hand up in my says a lot about her attitude about working there. The other employees are very kind and helpful, but this woman drastically brings down the overall enjoyment of being in the restaurant. Will not ever return. read more

The only major problems with this place is the line out the door (Which isn't even a problem because it tell me they are getting good business and will probably stay open for me to continue to enjoy their food) and the stained carpet. Otherwise this is the absolute best Chinese food in all of Sonoma county! It's just as good as most of the China places in SF. My favorites are the pepper salt pork chop, the soup dumplings, and chow mein. read more
