I've been a customer here for a long time and there have been a couple of glitches here and there but all the restaurants have them this time it went over the top. I ordered chow mein and I had on the side, black pepper, chicken, and orange chicken pate took my order went home to eat and to my surprise the black pepper chicken there was a fly in the mail. The rice comes in either chicken or veggie (I think you can order pork to be made fresh), you cannot combine. I was torn, but got the chicken. My recollection of this place was about even with a Panda Express, but owned and operated by a local family. Hubby and I decided to stop in and see how it was compared to what I remembered in the past, and nothing much has changed. Inside they have a huge dining room but they are only doing to go orders. The hot trays were full when we got there, and despite the long line, it went by super-fast. The folks behind the counter were efficient and friendly, and I really liked seeing them remember folks that were repeat customers and greet them by name. If you have a specific dining request that isn't in the steam trays, you can call ahead and get that added to your order before you get there. We ordered the combo plates, and my (limited) vegetarian option meal was greasy and bland but huge in quantity, and hubby's meat-centric meal was much better, and he thought it was overall not bad. The prices are super good, and the serving sizes are huge. I do think the people who dine here know what they're getting in terms of quality, so nobody is surprised there. This is by no means a gourmet or really authentic place, but it's inexpensive and you can feed a lot of folks for not much $ which is appealing to many. Overall, although this is not the food for me, but I also know that they have a loyal following and they will likely continue to stay in business for a long time. I went to this place because of the good ratings that I saw on the Internet. We ordered three separate meals and got most of their dishes that were sitting ready to be served. Everything was overcooked. The orange chicken was not very good, even crunchy. The other dishes with chicken in them did not taste good. She packs the to go containers and have always been on point with flavor. I have fallen for the hole in the wall tucked back in a corner spot in a small little strip mall near the expressway. The staff in front is always welcoming and they are quick to replenish food that is getting low. Their broccoli beef has been my favorite. Most places over steam their broccoli or make the sauce too salty. I love that it's not just soggy salted crowns but has some stems and still has some crunch. The flavor is mild and they do not over sauce. The crab and cheese Rangoon's were good with sweet n sour sauce. The teriyaki chicken is good too. The line moves quickly as they do not have 50 items to choose from. And once you've been there a time or two you'll know what you want fairly quickly. During the summer time it looks that they have the option for outdoor seating in the little breezy way between the two buildings. I was so impressed by my lunch special I drove back up to Petaluma the next day to pick up dinner. Everything was hot, flavorful and far from bland! I highly recommend the combination fried rice and any chow meins!! The service is fantastic too! From what I gathered if your order is over $45 before taxes you get a choice of one free appetizer.
