Me and my boyfriend went here around 7pm. the workers were already mad when we walked in. They charged us extra for the rice that came with our entree and was giving us dirty looks the whole time we were waiting for our food. My boyfriend seen the cook grab someone else's food with his bare hands put it into the container and wiped his hands on a rag sitting next the the stove and continued cooking. This is my neighborhood Chinese spot I usually go to when I don't feel like driving up Stephanie to Lucky China (you'll def have to check that review) but I like this place too: it's close and food is decent. I do wish they have bigger portions esp if the sesame chicken which is something we always get, BUT they have salt &pepper shrimp here and it is BOMB!! It's one of the main upsides for me when I can't make it to my other go-to spot! Service is good! I usually order ahead and it's ready by the time I get there. Went here around 8:15pm on Sunday. Didn't close till 9:30. The place was already neatly cleaned and chairs hung up. I only came because a friend chose this. They were extremely unhappy about the customers at that time and didn't try to hide it, actually they made it very clear they were very displeased. I was concerned they were going to tamper with the food. I understand why people would be unhappy about having to work and clean up when they are close to closing, but the place still had an hour left of business. It's not like we came an 5 to 30 minutes before closing. What I don't understand is why not just close the business if you don't want to continue working? As far as the food is concerned, it was made fast and tastes decent. One order was completely wrong but there was no way we were gonna complain and have them recook the order. Ordered food to go and i swear it only took them 5 minutes to make it because it was just reheated and put in a Togo container. Orange chicken was dry and mushy at the same time. There was sauce that had fused into it but still somehow had no flavor. Chow fun noodles were freshly made but the beef and shrimp in them tasted old. My husband has been ordering Cashew Chicken his whole life. He knows when he's been short changed in the amount of cashews he should have been served. I went up for him and asked for more cashews which , honesty, should have been already included in the dish in the first place. We didn't realize the owner charged us an extra dollar. When we questioned the bill he said I ordered "extra"cashews. He then said that because I'm Asian I should honor his demand . Why did he pull the race card? I felt profiled and discriminated. My nationality shouldn't matter as a unsatisfied customer.He escalated and said I have to pay him that one dollar ; "it's only a dollar" he said. There were customers in ear shot and It was a very embarrassing and petty moment for me. I told him I will never eat here again and I'll tell my friends never to eat here. Lettuce wrap chicken came with 4 very small lettuce cups, one was the soggy, limp outter leaf on the head of lettuce one usually tosses when preparing. I came in and ordered my food to go. I got home and started opening the cartons and putting my food on my plate, no silver ware or napkins in the bag. Mongolian beef was very chewy wasn't really a fan. The egg flower soup was very watery and bland no taste, I had to add soy sauce and siracha sauce to spice it up a little. The combination fried rice, the shrimp was very fishy and not good. The pork was so hard in the fried rice. The hunnan beef was actually not bad crispy and spicy taste. The egg rolls weren't crispy enough and mushy in the inside. Not to mention when I went and asked for soy sauce and hot mustard sauce the cashier rolled his eyes. How rude!!! Won't be back. I would strongly caution anyone considering ordering from China Wan Wan on Blouder and Russell. Based on my personal experience, I encountered several issues with my $70 food order. The sesame and orange chicken was inedible, tasting old and being extremely tough. Additionally, the crab Rangoon had an inadequate amount of cream cheese. I immediately contacted the restaurant to request a refund, and they instructed me to return the order. However, upon doing so, they informed me that they could only refund $15 due to the inability to reuse the food. WHAT!!!! She then said that they would offer to remake it but we wouldn't be satisfied. The staff member stated that refunds are not provided, and the $15 offer is very generous. After going in circles with her I said I hope stealing $55 from me was worth it because I will never come here again. She then had the fucking nerve to ask me if I still wanted the $15. I said NO I want my $70, but since you are essentially robbing me YES I want the $15. WTF is wrong with you!!! read more

In Yelp friends I trust. It was in Yelp friend Momo. B's pics, check-in comments, and review that created a mental balloon that said "You have to China Wan Wan." In the near future I'd pop that mental balloon when I stepped inside China Wan Wan. I'd end up liking it so much that I would return a couple of more times. China Wan Wan is in a small strip mall at the southwest corner of Boulder Highway and Russell Road. It is not a stand alone Chinese restaurant. It is a small Chinese restaurant in back of the Popeyes Chicken. The lunch specials are a fantastic deal. They start out at $5.95 and top off at $6.55. The shrimp based entrees are the highest priced ones. A Coke beverage brings the price up to around $8. The lunch specials include a cup of soup. They are served in a styrofoam plate with the entree, fried rice, and soft chow me in noodles. Before they serve the food to your table, you can look into the open kitchen to watch them make the food. To the left of the counter and open kitchen is the Coke soda fountain. China Wan Wan is more of the take out environment than a full service casual dining Chinese restaurant like The Lotus or China Bistro for example. Here, there is no visual candy like a Buddha statue, pictures of China, or place mats of the Chinese New Year. It is a take out atmosphere with sufficient seating. Anyways, the food is the eye candy. On my visits, I had ordered the peppersteak and shrimp chop suey. The peppersteak was really good. The meat was juicy and tasty. They interspersed it with the right amount of onions and pepper. The shrimp chop suey was also delicious. The shrimp were sufficient in size and portions. The representation of vegetables, mushrooms, sauce, and ingredients complimented the mushrooms. The fried rice was of good quality. The soft chow mein noodles were tasty and far better than what I have tasted at some Chinese restaurants where they are filler food. The choice of the soup that comes with the meal is either egg drop or hot and sour soup. Both are good, however, wonton soup would be great. Friendly people take the orders and bring the food to the table. Everything I have been here, they greeted me right away and were friendly. China Wan Wan is China Win Win. When you dine here before 4 pm, you come up winning with delicious Chinese food and Coke for less than Panda Express. I am sending you the reader a mental balloon that says "If your in the mood for a good Chinese lunch special when your in the vicinity of Boulder Highway and Russell Road give China Wan Wan a try." We ordered the salt and pepper chicken wings and while they were tasty, it was like they added five spice seasoning to it and well, I just didn't expect that on Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings. Beef Chow Fun is alright. My noodles were a bit too soft for me but it had decent flavor. I ordered a shrimp dish and it was very plentiful with shrimp. I was actually surprised by how much. What i love here is the taro boba. For $3 bucks and some change you get a very large drink. That makes my belly very happy. They also mango and strawberry flavor but I have yet to try those. NEVER ORDERING HERE AGAIN. Placed pickup order for two lunch specials. Yelp app clearly states that lunch specials include chow mein and rice. I selected steam rice for one entree, and fried rice for the other. Paid in advance through Yelp App. Head out to do errands before food is ready for pickup. Man from this restaurant calls that order is ready for pickup, I tell him I'll be there soon. He calls again 15 minutes later for same reason, I repeat what I already told him. Why are they rushing me for a prepaid to-go order? I pickup the food and head home. Upon checking the food on the counter, there is no chow mein in either food container. I call them right away, and ask if chow mein is included in lunch specials. They tell me yes, so I explain that the chow mein is missing. The same man says that I need to bring the food back so they can scrape out HALF the rice and add chow mein. I tell him that is ridiculous, I am not bringing back the food. I am coming back for the chow mein. When I arrive, I show him the ordering process for take out orders on the Yelp app. The man says that when selecting a lunch special, DO NOT SELECT ANY OPTION FOR RICE SO THEY KNOW TO ADD 1/2 CHOW MEIN. I ask him how are we (the customers) supposed to know this? We proceed to argue back and forth about this for several minutes. I tell him that this is obviously an issue with the restaurant and Yelp app. He tells me I'm the only customer that has ever had this issue, and he wants me to pay for the chow mein. A cook from the back walks up, looks at the receipt, and starts yelling at him. The cook whips up chow mein in two minutes, and hands it to me in a container right after and I leave with the food. I will never give them another dollar. This could have been resolved easily within minutes. Instead, the restaurant decided to argue with me over a product that I never received. They need to ensure the order is correct instead of rushing customers to pick up an order that is not correct. read more
