lol my papaya salad came with a side of siracha and chili oil who it's papaya salad like this?!?

Not really authentic "Thai food " receptionist does not know what Lao papaya salad is, i inquire 6 star spicy she said she will put "sauce" on the side which papaya salad does not have a sauce, it was a bit strange. Inquired if this Thai store is authentic she said her kitchen staff "are from there" probably not coming back here to look for "authentic" Thai dishes, lack of "street food" knowledge and title does not appear as it advertised, pretty disappointing can not accommodate the ask of having the 20 dollar dish to 6 star very Americanize worst Thai restaurant in Tacoma. As an Asian and strong believer in culture and authenticity this restaurant strongly lacks. My papaya salad oddly came with a side of siracha and chili oil, they had dump a bunch of chili flakes on top without mixing, the papaya salad taste like water and lime juice ...yikes never again will I come back yuk have to throw the rest out it taste like water and lime juice not authentic or quality at all wish I can give .5 star rating

No-brainer... 5 Stars! Indo Asian Street Eatery is a gem! Our server Thien was incredible!!!Super attentive and even noticed it was my birthday just by looking at my ID. Talk about attention to detail! The drinks (Imperial Coconut and First Bloom) were gorgeous and tasty. As for the food, the Salt & Pepper Tofu, Calamari, and Crispy Garlic Chicken were all hits. The portions are huge, so you definitely get your money's worth. The highlight was Thien offering a complimentary birthday treat at the end of the meal. It really made my day! The vibe is clean and aesthetically pleasing, and the service is top-notch. Yes, there's a 4% card surcharge, but for an experience this good, I didn't mind at all. We'll definitely be back!

food was goooood, especially that pork belly. got to get that! The Thai chicken curry was also of quality, but not much rice given :( maybe it is their way of making more money, though lolol nonetheless, it made for a really good meal when I was at work because filling and not overwhelmingly spicy for the level of 2 out of 4. what impressed me the most was the service. They put my leftovers away in the takeout box while I handled the bill. The waiter took initiative, which I rarely see at restaurants. I also had my water topped off at all times because the attentiveness from other staff to change the serving water bottle. quickly got seated within like 3 minutes, too I loved the intimate dim lighting at this restaurant. it was one where you could still take a nice photo, as you can see below. I liked that there were dark brown and shiny wooden tables with booths and chairs available. I just wish that there was more going on with the decorations because it felt a bit underwhelming? The lighting was good, but nothing stood out to me with decorations :/ hm be good at parallel parking because side street is all they got. watch for your belongings in the car...put everything in the trunk, if you can.

IASE was an okay place for me. The chicken was very tender and juicy. portions was okay! But pricing for what the dish was, was a miss for me. Service was fast because I came in on a Wednesday afternoon. The flags and fireplace ambiance was super inviting and warm!!!!

First time in on a Thursday evening to eat something on our way to somewhere else. Our server was wonderful, super sweet and helpful about making a drink recommendation. And he was right on the mark, Indo makes a really nice old fashioned with an anise syrup that's sweet and fragrant with licorice. The curry chicken and peanut sauce was also very good -- plentifully stuffed with fresh salad greens and jalapenos and a delicate, not spicy curry sauce. Indo is a great spot for a simple filling Vietnamese meal and a delicious cocktail. Plus they've got a cozy fireplace that you can sit around which makes for a nice romantic vibe in a cold night.

We live close to Seattle and would absolutely make a special trip to Tacoma just to eat at this restaurant! Everything we ordered was amazing and the service so friendly. Cute and cozy space, perfect for a date or meeting up with friends. Must get the Papaya Salad Khao Soi as well as the mango sticky rice dessert.

I used to have a favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Seattle's China Town but it went away durin covid. The good news is I've found it's replacement in Tacoma and even better. The vermicelli here is spectacular to say the least and exactly what I want when I want Vietnamese. It's a very nice new clean restaurant with the kitchen right across from the booths. I found it very cool and comfortable. The food couldn't be fresher since comes right out of kitchen to the table 10 feet awat. The staff is very friendly and helpful answering any questions I had about the menu with precision. It's now my favorite Vietnamese much closer, and safer, than Seattle's Chintown these days. Well done Indo Asian Eatery. Each time I visit, I'm more impressed.

    Vermicelli Noodle Bowl.

Huge improvement since the last visit. Food quality and flavor are amazing. The portions are generous and I really enjoyed the vermicelli noodle bowl. The imperial roll was crisp and flavorful. The spring rolls were dress and had plenty of prawns. Service was fast and great.

Everything is so yummy here ! Me and my bf randomly came across this place 4 years ago and it was delicious ! I recently came back here with a friend and we both enjoyed our time here ! Not picture but their khao soi is sooo yummy it is one of my favorite dish to get here ! We also got the calamari and sui mai to share ! Service is quick and professional. They have a fire place which I thought is so cute !

Great place to get all types of Asian food. Everything we got was super tasty. The surface was great! Lots of flavors and great enough spice. Definitely a great place to eat family style and share plates. I highly recommend and would come back.

Old fashioned and Fresh Spring Rolls (comes with 4, I had already plated mine)

I'd just gotten off the train from eating and drinking my way around Portland and you couldn't welcome me back with a few more choices for a good meal? But since I ended up at Thai Pepper, all was forgiven. Hands down, their pumpkin curry is on my list of all time top ten favorite foods. It's spicy, it's sweet, it's nutty, it's soothing -- it has pumpkin. The curry sauce is so good I poured what I had leftover on my mashed potatoes the next day. Everything about Thai Pepper rocks. The service is great and so is the vibe. The location is a little out of the way though, which may be why I forget to go more often-- even though there's usually good parking and it's right around the corner from the salon that cuts my hair! The portion sizes were large, especially for the price point, which made it feel like good value. The restaurant itself is small so never unnecessarily crowded. Service could've been better, we had to request serval times for tableware and water refills. My only issue is that the spice level was underwhelming. I ordered a spice level 4, and even though I know spice is subjective, I'm not someone who can handle super spicy food even I was still wishing for more heat. If you're someone who enjoys bold spice, you may be disappointed. The standout dish of the meal was definitely Red Curry Duck. It was rich, flavorful, and easily the best thing we ordered.

From the moment we walked in, no one was warm, no one even welcomed us, we had a reservation and still waited to be seated. The host was not friendly. Our waiter didn't even introduce themselves and it took us 30 minutes to get water after asking. Our drinks came out all at separate times, I had to remind him for my mom's prebiotic soda, which he served in the can, no glass and didn't open it. Our meals all came out at different times as well. Overall no one had a sense of urgency, no one seemed to prioritize a good dining experience, and it was so disappointing because again the food and ambience was there. Overall, Thai cuisine is a great choice. Environment: I arrived around 2:00 PM, and since it was past the lunch rush, there weren't many customers. The environment was very clean, with bright and spotless windows. Taste: I ordered the chicken with rice and added a portion of green curry beef. The chicken with rice was the restaurant's recommendation. It was impressive at first bite and quite enjoyable, but it became saltier as I ate toward the end. The portion of chicken was modest, so overall, it's still recommended. As for the green curry beef, it wasn't very rich, and the beef was scarce. I had expected chunks of beef, but what came out was sliced beef coated in starch. The texture wasn't great, so I wouldn't particularly recommend it. Service: The service was good.
