China Wok serving up goodness, for me since 1997. This is mine and my families go to Chinese spot. The decor is simple but the grub they pump out is TOP NOTCH. The lunch specials are decent prices and I always leave with leftovers. It comes with your choice of entree, from an extensive selection, and choice of 2 crab ration or 1 crispy spring roll, plus choice of either hot n sour or egg drop. Not sure what's going on but the last few times I ordered food from here was not the best. This time around, it was as though no effort was put into cooking the food. I ordered shrimp fried rice, for starters the rice didn't even look like your typical fried rice. It looked as if they warmed up white rice, put some veggies in it and served it. The shrimp were mushy which made the rice even more unpleasant to eat. The wonton soup was awful, it was as if they poured straight soy sauce in the container in replace of broth causing it to be very salty to the point I couldn't even eat it. I normally don't do reviews where I can't find anything positive to say, unfortunately this will be my last go round with this establishment. The crazy thing is their fried rice happens to be one of their best menu options. I would just tread lightly if you order from here. read more

Visiting friends in KC and wanted Chinese food. This place had good reviews and the people were correct. I had something that was very close to "Springfield (MO) Cashew style chicken. If you've never had it, I would suggest you drive to Springfield, Missouri and get some. The service was absolutely excellent. They were kind nice and patient with me since I wasn't from the area. I love that they offer combos that include soup, and egg roll or crab Rangoon for dinner and not just at lunch time. The egg roll wrapper was a little thin for my liking but it had good flavor. We came in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We were asked if we prefer a booth or table (absolutely love this as I prefer a booth). The service was top notch! It was a relatively quiet lunch. When we arrived, there was tons of parking and the food was right away. Food was ready super fast. We took everything home and we're given tons of food. The portions were huge and prices were great. I would highly recommend getting the lunch specials as you tons of food for under $9. I would recommend the general Taos chicken and the crab ragoons. The sauce is super good and flavorful. Not my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant but a weekly outing for me for lunch almost every week. Retired so going out for lunch is kind of a treat. I am there enough that the staff know me and what my regular order is when I walk. A few moments of conversation to make sure I going to order something else and we are set. Entrée', crab Rangoon or egg roll and wonton soup and I am as happy as a clam. Plenty of food and I leave satisfied every time. We mainly order carry out at China Wok. The portions are large and usually provide us with a couple of meals. My favorite is their hot and sour soup with an extra helping of crispies. The soup has a deep rich flavor with just a bit of heat. That and an order of crab rangoon is a satisfying meal. Their spring rolls are stuffed with lots of fresh vegetables. Their delivery is by far top notch in the area. Here are the following "highlights", tips.... tricks to aid your visit. The hot and sour soup turned me into a devoted follower. I was once a egg drop soup girl , but no more! The catch in the back of throat is pleasantly peppery , and aids in introducing the vinegar edge to the soup. The honey chicken can get super sweet after the first couple of bites , but the texture of the sauce is the perfect coating to the crispy outside. The rice is very run of the mill, and is easily left on the side of the plate. P.S. Their green beans are magical.
