I wasn't a fan of this take out Chinese restaurant. It's the typical Chinese restaurant that's in every town across America with the same menu. In my opinion, it's low quality Chinese food. The food is always great every time I go. The the two who take your order are always super nice. The guy is very polite and always tells me with a smile "10 minute". This time I chose to call ahead cause I had a few other stops I had to make and he politely told me "It be 10-20 minute." (Which was good for me cause it allowed me to make the few other stops that I needed to do. I wasn't even paying attention to the time and as I came out of Kroger I received a phone call from someone I didn't recognize (which I normally don't answer). However it did say that it was from Shelbyville, IN, so I decided to answer and sure enough it was him. He was calling to make sure that I was still coming to get it to which I told him that I was on my way and walking out of Kroger now. I walked in and began to apologetically mention why I was late and he seemed happy to me. I paid my bill and wrote down the tip and was doing the mathematics. He corrected me before I left where my math wasn't mathing and we finally figured out the correct total. We said our parting greetings and I went on about my way. He's such a nice man. read more

No soy sauce , mustard for egg rolls, the crab Rangoon tasted like crispy rice noodles. I played "here piggy, piggy "with the ' pork' fried rice . Couldn't find even one little bitty piggy piece of pork! General Toa's was as hot as the rising sun. The price was 7 bucks more than the price on the website. I love the whole China Wok experience. It's a small shop, with limited seating, so it feels more intimate. The employees are all friendly, and the service is fast. There are hundreds of choices on the menu, including rices, stir-frys, lo-mein, soups and more, all made to order. During lunch hours, you can get a tray with your choice of stir fry and rice for a great price. Or you can order items in family portions. I've found myself ordering a large chicken fried rice for takeout a few times a week. It's addictive. I also like the snow pea chicken, and chicken & broccoli. The wonton soup is great, and really helps an upset stomach. And the crab rangoon is bomb diggity. Definitely a great place for Chinese, with a large menu, quick service, and a good price. read more

Good Chinese take out at this China Wok. We have ordered here many times and have not been disappointed. This particular week had been especially busy for us and we didn't feel like dining out, but also didn't want to have to cook, so this was a perfect option for us. Order ahead, give them 15 minutes, and when I arrived, our dinner was ready. On one particular occasion when I got home with our food, we found they had given us an order of a Crab Rangoon, (which we had not ordered and were not charged for). I'm not sure if this was a promotional thing or if we got it by mistake. In any case, we ate it and it was very good. It also came with a cup of sweet n sour sauce for dipping. The wonton portion was fried perfectly and the filling was very tasty, not too sweet and you could see the crabmeat in the filling. We will definitely order this 6 piece appetizer in our future orders! We enjoy the Orange Beef dish, which has a sweet sauce coated on the pieces of crispy beef. There are a few pieces of real orange peel, along with a small amount of broccoli in this dish. This comes with a side of white rice, which compliments this dish. We also like the Chicken Chow Mein, which has quite a few onions in it (if you like onions) and some celery. The food is always hot and is pretty reasonable in price. One thing that we appreciate are the nice register receipts we get providing all details related to the transaction. The detail makes it easy to quickly make sure the order was taken correctly. I wanted to love this place but I was rather disappointed. I ordered a teriyaki chicken lunch combo and a hunan chicken. The hunan chicken didn't have much flavor but the fried rice was really good. My chicken teriyaki wasn't right. It ended up being something fried with shrimp. I'm allergic to shrimp so I called and explained they gave me the wrong order and asked if I could get a replacement the next day when I come back into town to work. They agreed as long as I had my receipt. When I called to order the next day I told the person who I was and what had happened. They took my order without a problem. When I arrived they wanted me to pay even though they had said they wouldn't charge me if I had my original receipt since they sent me with the wrong meal the day before. The man said his English is bad and said he didnt understand me. Needless to say I left without food and I won't be back. I had high hopes for a decent Chinese place in shelbyville. I'd rather drive the 25 mins to Pho one / egg roll one at Emerson and 465 it never disappoints and it's worth the drive if you want great Chinese for an affordable price. read more

We stopped by to take something for lunch. All that we tried were good especially dumplings and noodles with chicken.

One of the best Chinese food places in town, and one that is not a buffet, as most others are buffet's. I think the servings are small, but they fill up a 100 pound girl just fine, they just don't fill me up, ha. Everything is cooked to order, comes out hot, tastes fresh, and you can eat inside or get carry-out, which is the most popular. Prices are a bit high for the serving size, but the taste is good, so it balances out. read more

My brother and I went to this China wok restaurant to get food to go so, we order 2 combination plate Chicken Teriyaki. Everything was fine til u got home and started eating, we noticed that the chicken teriyaki didn't look like it freaking chicken teriyaki instead I was just the freaking fried chicken skin with teriyaki sauce, after a few minutes I felt sick disgusted. Our go to place for Chinese carryout in S.Ville. We eat in occasionally and dining area is kept very clean. Whenever we order by phone it is always ready by the time we get there (10-15 minutes). The food is always fresh & hot and of above average quality. The Asian workers understand our orders fairly well and we always order extra plum sauce or Chili Oil depending on our order and they always get it right. Only complaint is it is difficult to get the "whole red chili" peppers added to our dishes. They either don't understand what we are asking for or they don't have them. We just keep our own at home and soak them in white vinegar before needing them - so problem solved. This is very close to where we live and everything we've had there has been really good. My wife usually gets sweet and sour, whereas I've had Kung Pao chicken, Hunan chicken, Szechuan beef and others. I think you get a good amount of food for $8-9 for the large portion.
