Ehh we stopped in for lunch with friends. Service was super slow and the food just wasn't great. It won't be in our rotation.

Kicking off with some free crispy wonton with duck sauce!

It's always a pleasure to come to this hidden gem. It's off the beaten path in a private strip mall. One of those places that are found by word of mouth. The atmosphere is very laid back and relaxed. They play traditional Chinese music in the background which makes it feel like you are overseas. The fish tank and artwork also transports you back to their homeland. Their food is traditional Schezhuan style. All the dishes are amazing and the best part is how affordable they are. The Mon-Sat lunch menu is the best. Plates are just enough to satisfy you and it comes with a cup of your choice of Hot & Sour, Egg Drop or Wonton soup. All 3 are great. My wife got the garlic shrimp with white rice. Shrimp is perfectly cooked, not rubbery and the green peppers, celery & carrots are also soft with a little crunch. I got the Mongolian beef. Tender beef cooked with scallions and onions accompanied by choice of white or fried rice. Make sure to ask for Chili Oil on the side to get that extra kick. It may look spicy but it is not so bring it on. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. Love this place and one of the few in town that has great food with reasonable prices. They don't hit you with extra unnecessary prices!

Szechuan Beef (also Chef's Special) with rice & soup for $7,50 - mild & sweet, with the ubiquitous brown sauce.

I visited this place several times recently to see what their food was like now, had been there several times a few years back. The menu here is rather broad - most of the usual Chinese American items (General Tso Chicken, Mongolian Beef, etc.), a few Hunan and Szechuan dishes, several duck choices, a variety of noodle dishes, a number of Indo-Chinese items (Gobi Manchurian, Hakka Noodles, Darjeeling Noodles etc., for example), and several Thai dishes. I tried the Twice Cooked Pork, and 3 Indo-Chinese dishes - Hakka Noodles, Darjeeling Noodles, and Gobi Manchurian. The pork dish was rather nice with a nice heat level, and still crispy chopped vegetables. The pork was tender and flavorful, though it was not especially plentiful. The lunch special comes with soup and rice. The Gobi Manchurian is a favorite dish of mine and I've eaten it at Curry And Noodle in Winston, Noor in Greensboro, and Salt and Pepper in High Point - all great versions. This, unfortunately, was not anywhere near that level, in fact it was God awful. The cauliflower was covered in a gooey, tasteless batter, and smothered in a thick "gravy"! Darjeeling Noodles originated in the city of Darjeeling in the Indian state of West Bengal, a city renowned for its uniquely favored & expensive tea! This is a rather fiery dish flavored primarily by Dalle Chiles, also called wild cherry chilies, and a variety is available in the USA. This dish also contains Sichuan peppercorns, white peppercorns, garlic, soy sauce, and a touch of tomato - there are a lot of variations with some additional items. This was a solid dish and there was plenty of it, but it was a mild version, lacking the usual red color of the sauce. I don't know what Chiles were used, but apparently there was not a lot of them. I wouldn't go with this dish again. This spot is a decent option for a selection of Asian and Indo-Chinese fare.

Great Service and Great Food! Only reason I gave the establishment a 4 and not a 5 is because the scallion chicken was supposed to be spicy but wasn't really spicy at all. Best egg drop soup I've had. Great place!

Ordered delivery and it has to be the worst Chinese food I've ever tasted. Not sure what was inside the egg rolls, but it looked and tasted like sawdust. It was certainly not minced vegetables.

Fresh food, unlike the other ones. We go there every other week. General Tsos Chicken is fresh and crunchy and the wait staff are superb.

We got MSG poisoning from this place. We got Sesame Chicken and Hunan Chicken. I've yet to find a good Chinese place in the Triad.

Our server was very accommodating. I couldn't decide between two chicken dishes, the Chang BBQ Chicken and the Crispy Chicken with Peanut Sauce so I asked for her recommendation. She said, "Ooh... those are completely different. But get the BBQ Chicken. It's a good portion." So that's what I ordered. When she brought it out, I was like, "Whoa! That's a lot!" I guess I underestimated what "a half chicken" meant. It was delicious and the meat came right off the bone but I could only eat a quarter of it. While I was eating, our server even brought me some of the peanut sauce they use for the Crispy Chicken with Peanut Sauce so I could try it. That was so thoughtful of her! It tasted great so now I know what I'm ordering next time. My husband ordered his usual, the Massaman curry. The portions are always generous here, and he enjoyed it as always. In our opinion, Chang Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants in this area.

It took a few minutes for someone to acknowledge us and offer us a seat. We took a booth up front and a server came over, not very friendly but did wait on us. a large menu with an extensive list of offerings. I started with a seaweed salad, it was okay. A decent portion with sesame seeds and oil. The flavor was consistent and it served its purpose. Next I wanted some sashimi, so I ordered a few pieces and it was also pretty good. The portions ample, the flavor and freshness both good, and enjoyable. For my meal I opted for the number 61 Sizzling flounder, two filets served with a large mix of sauteed veggies. The fish was good, the veggies not so much. An okay meal, it served its purpose. 3 Stars - okay, served its purpose. 01261
