Best...Chicken...Curry....Ever. Bar none (so far.) A coworker brought me to this Chinese food spot after being unsure of where to go. From the outside, this place looks like any other Chinese fast food joint, cheesy sign and very plain interior, along with the buffet line style service. My mind changed immediately after trying the food. They serve delicious fare, similar to other places, but done with care. The food doesn't sit out and get hard/crusty. It's constantly monitored and changed. Walking the line, I tried a sample of everything. Sumptuous orange chicken, decadent pork, etc. Then I saw it. Yup, there it was. Chicken Curry. Almost a Japanese style. I could smell it before I had the chance to taste it. They offered a sample which I gladly accepted, and lo and behold it was the most amazing thing I've tasted. As a family we decided to eat fast food after shopping at Costco, we were heading to Subway, nevertheless after parking the car my daughter saw the store front of this place and asked me to eat Chinese food instead, I agreed. My daughter asked for an orange chicken bowl with chow mein, I went for chow mein with orange chicken and kung pao chicken, the orange chicken looked blackish, over cooked, dry and too crunchy, the kung pao was soggy, grayish and disgusting; the place did not convince the rest of the family to switch so after buying food just for the two of us here we continued to Subway. Sadly we ate some of the food while together at Subway, then driving home we started feeling the effects of the food, I barely made it home to use the bathroom (diarrhea), my daughter is now hugging the toilet throwing up and with diarrhea. Talking to my wife she shared that the place look disorganized and filthy, sadly she did not say anything while we were there. read more

Was looking out for a Chinese Resto Around Costco in Signal Hill and voila found one and it is called Chinese Combo. Went in and the place looks neat with few tables and clean area. Checked on the array of Chinese dishes and asked for my half/half (half rice and half noodles), and my single viand. Paid a reasonable and competitive price with Panda Express and the likes. Mind you, sat down and dug in, the food is absolutely hot and fresh and am impressed. I even complimented the staffs behind the counter about my satisfaction. I feel like they would get more business if the let you deviate from the strict 2 item per serving and let you mix and match more. First timer. I stopped by here for a quick to go lunch today after running into Costco to order a cake. I got a one-item combo with orange chicken, fried rice and chow mein and I picked up a bottle of Snapple Straight Up Tea. This was not delicious food. In fact, the manager must be embarrassed to serve this fried rice. It is absolutely without flavor. I had to drown it in soy sauce to render it edible. The orange chicken was very dry and very tough to chew and was the worst tasting orange chicken I have swallowed ever. The chow mein was a 3 on a 10 scale. came here on my break for work because i wanted a change from good ole' faithful subway. i walked in and was immediately greeted, which was nice, even though she was helping someone else at the time. i stood there for a good few minutes trying to figure out how the whole damn menu worked. the plates in the middle weren't bowl combos, but side choices... and they had a two side choice with chow mein and rice, or just a one side choice with chow mein and rice. The lady began to explain it to me and she did it so fast she reminded me of a hamster. she either had too much coffee or was just really happy to be there... noone gets that pumped about serving chinese food... none that ive ever come in contact with... alright, alright so she loves her job? i guess. anywho... i settled for the "lite" combo. Which made me giggle inside... right, there is nothing "lite" about chinese food. She quickly put 1/2 chowmein and 1/2 rice into a container and then asked what my one other side choice was.. i was looking around... NO vegetarian choices... no grilled shrimp, no shrimp rice, .... what the heck no fish at all??? i opted for a couple egg rolls after asking her if they had meat in them "no just vegetables" and i figured that was fine. kind of disappointed, but fine, whatever. she specifically asked me if i wanted sweet and sour sauce for my egg rolls and i said yes. my total came to 4.80 which was a little cheaper than subway, not including a drink. she seemed irritated that i asked for a receipt back and the machine wouldnt print it. i took that time to look at some fortune cookies (10 cent) and the fountain drinks which she never offered. finally got my food and went to go back to the break room to eat it.. i open it up and there was no sweet and sour sauce... way to much pepper in the egg rolls... and i wondered how long that fried rice had been sitting there. i was too lazy to walk back and get the sauce, so i guess in part it's my fault. overall the food was filling, but nothing spectacular. i probably won't eat here again. read more

Generous portions and a friendly staff which caters to their customers. I've been requesting brown rice and, lo and behold, they now serve it. Also of interest to me is the tofu and vegetable entree. Very good. (One of the few Chinese fast food restaurants that always have tofu on the steam table ready to serve. Many restaurants you have to special order it and wait.) (Wish they would bring back the baked salmon. It was a bargain for that tasty entree.) Plenty of parking and ample seating if you don't want take out. This is not a fine dinning or family-style restaurant. It's a quick "get it and go" place. In that respect, it is a very good "best bang for your buck" restaurant. (WaBa Grill which recently opened next door is small and cramped. The meals are overpriced for the amount of food that you get although I do enjoy the taste of their food. But it does lack the taste and care of a cook since it is assembly-lined made by minimum wage employees.) I ordered their chinese combo along with two entrees, orange chicken and curry chicken. The food was delicious and made fresh. They provided fast and friendly service. The place was very clean. 6/28/12 Have ordered here several times, down the street from my job. Normally order the Wong ton soup but wasn't in the mood for that with it being so hot. I was in the mood for chow mien which is rare for me, added an extra side of teriaky chicken and Kong poi chicken. Took me all afternoon after lunch to eat it all with my small stomach. I usually enjoy the food here. Of course a few times I get stomach aches from eating here. Tonight right before going into work, I ordered a one item combo with just fried rice and beef broccoli with an egg roll. As I'm eating the fried rice, I bite down hard on something..well incredibly hard. I pull out of my mouth, A SMALL PEBBLE. I thought it was a bone, but no it was a literal round pebble. I couldn't run over there to let them know of the pebble due to work. I suddenly don't feel comfortable eating from here anymore...be careful eating here :( read more

Okay.... as my sub-liner says..... I love Kung Pao chicken..... it's the first priority when I go to a new Chinese place.... This place has been here since Costco used to be called Price Club..... I can actually remember around the time that it opened.... The fact that the place has been here this long, is a feat within itself..... We came here last night about 6:30pm. and I once in I asked for a sample of the Kung Pao..... it was very flavorful, but also dry..... the steamed rice was also just a bit hard, not sure how long it had been there..... everything was under heat lamps, so that may explain the dryness.... My boyfriend got the curry chicken, and he said that it was okay, if just a tiny bit bland..... which was fine with him, as he doesn't really like spicy food..... Fantastic!! NOT your average hole-in-the-wall cheap Chinese joint. The entrees are FRESH... the veggies are green and crisp like they should be, not soggy.... The portions are GENEROUS and the service is friendly and with a smile. No half-scoop of some dried out chicken and 2 shriveled carrots served to you from the bottom of the tray.
