L - albino roast pork egg foo young, R - mapo tofu
    Belinda D.

This is the weirdest Chinese food I've ever gotten. I got the Mapo tofu and the sauce tastes like what I would imagine those la Choy sauces at the grocery store taste like. And there are VEGETABLES in it. Mapo tofu is basically spicy comfort food that has way more sodium than you know what's good for you. It seems like it's for poor people because it's flavored with fermented beans (where soy sauce gets it's taste), has tofu (which coming from an Asian country, it's for when you can't afford meat) and is numbing spicy where you might not be able to eat as much of it and the salt acts as a preservative so you can save food. It was also sweet, like they used sweet and sour sauce in this, or the same base. Not into that. I wanted to eat salty comfort food without having to chew, or really digest for that matter. It al just melts/dissolves. However I expected veggies in the egg foo young. It looks like there's nothing in the patties except egg, onion, and flour. If a restaurant is skimping, they'll at least have bean sprouts in it. But there is nothing. Its like some species of egg foo young that developed on an isolated island without any interaction with anything else so it evolved into something unusual. I guess you could say that the main drag of downtown Selah is like that? This species might have had to adapt to its surroundings where we have this weird albino evolution of egg foo young. Like I don't believe the owners made Chinese food like this originally. It's an adaptation, and it seems very specific to this area. Never had anything like it. It is also the type of place where the fried rice is has no mixins with it. Big portions, but not helpful if you don't like it. The service was good and the place seems clean. If you've been called a picky eater and like very Americanized, very plain Chinese food, you probably will love it on the same level that I don't like it.

The best Chinese Restaurant in Yakima Valley!!! Family owned and operated. Great sweet and sour sauce, great almond sauce for almond chicken and egg Foo young. Gluten free, and Vegan/Vegetarian options as well!

We ordered takeout. This was our first time at this place and not impressed. Fried rice is very plain. Just rice and soy sauce. Nothing added to it like egg or veggies. Almond chicken and sweet and sour chicken was ok. I've had way better. Food overall I give a 3/10. We won't be back.

One of the best Chinese food restaurant in the area.

We have been there twice and love the food, authentic and homemade. Highly recommend this Chinese restaurant.

Quick and friendly service. There was a large amount of food that was average to above average in taste.

Not a lot of guests here but friendly service nonetheless. Food was alright, not spectacular.

We ordered the House Pork Chop spicy and we all agreed it was otherworldly. They serve great food often but some times they are amazing.

When we arrived, the seating area is full, but we were still greeted warmly. We ordered our meal to go but we were still offered a place to sit in glasses of water while we waited. We both ordered pho. I got the combination pho with everything and my wife ordered the beef pho. She also ordered some pork bao buns, and I ordered soup dumplings. They packaged the pho very well, with the broth, vegetables and meat, and one container and the noodles, some of the extra meat, lines, cilantro, basil, etc. In another container, the servings were huge. We had plenty for another meal the next day. The pho broth was excellent. We did have to heat it up again when we added the noodles and extras, but it was well worth it. The soup dumplings were flavorful and warm and the bao buns had a mild but rich pork filling. This was a real treat while we were on the road.

One of us would have said slightly better than average casual Chinese food. The other one of us thinks this is some of the best Chinese food in a long time. The service was good. Everyone was friendly and helpful. No disagreements there. The atmosphere - one of us found it at the lower end of casual Asian dining. The other one of us just didn't care. The value. One of us found it very overpriced. The other one didn't care and pointed to how expensive every restaurant is now, while the first one of us wanted to point out that this is priced for a much nicer dining experience (eg, atmosphere, presentation, and even the fairly tasty meal just don't support the pricing). Portions, at least on entrees (we didn't try the appetizers), are pretty good, so that helps. Also, one of us would point out that it's often described as "dim sum," but a handful of pricey appetizers is not what is expected as a "dim sum" experience. By this logic, every restaurant (or at least every Chinese restaurant) could market itself as "dim sum" if it has appetizers, which they all do. That isn't what I expect of dim sum. So, there you have it - we're split. We will return to try the appetizers (aka "dim sum"), but it won't be cheap. It seems very popular and I wish them success, with a few improvements.
