The food selection may seem like it's lacking, however the quality is outstanding! They do what they do very well. The atmosphere is very nice and has a homey feel. The staff is very friendly and accommodating for any questions you may have. I have been here several times and the food has been consistently good. Not sure how I left this gem but as they say it's never too late! Chinn chinn is one of our favorites. It has a perfect mixture of cozy ambience and delicious food that draws you again and again. You need to have reservations else it's pretty tough to get a table without one. We ordered the crispy cauliflower, pad thai, wok tossed udon noodles and kung pao sauce with rice. They have a lot of vegeterian options and they customize the menu options as well. The portion size of cauliflower was huge. It was an entree ( which we didn't realize)! It was super tasty and though we had more food coming, we finished it all off. Pad Thai was delicious too! Sauce and flavor were spot on! Kung pao sauce came with lots of vegetables and rice and it was delicious. Our kid had the wok tossed udon noodles and let's just say - they're kid approved! All the entrees come with orange slices. Food was delicious and all our dietary restrictions were taken care of so well. Our server was one of the best we've experienced. She was very sweet and kept ensuring that we were having a great time. They have great mongolian flatbread too - we didn't order it this time as we always get it and wanted to try something different. They have a great cocktail selection too. We ordered the mojito and pineapple mango punch and they both were pretty good. We always end up eating so much that we don't have any room for dessert but next time we'll ensure that we get it! read more

We've been here many times since they came on the scene. Got n right on time and were immediately seated. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Started with fried pot stickers. They were not what I expected, deep fried. I was expecting pan fried. I'll bet they thought I would not remember. I had lemon grass shrimp. First bite had me hooked, but it had too much sweetness for me. Very sticky, I don't think the rice was sticky rice, so I was surprised. We had a very nice time at Chinn Chinn. Chinn Chinn is one of my very fav restaurants ever- up there with Nonla (also mattawan), Sushi Den (denver), and Potager (denver). I eat at Chinn Chinn at least twice/month, mostly for lunch. The food is super fresh and flavorful. I love how you can pick from roast pork, beef, chicken, tofu, vegis or shrimp on most meals. The staff is very considerate of allergies and dietary needs, so tell them what you need. My favs are the Kung Pow, House Curry and Shoyu Cream! I will crave Chinn Chinn for years! Rice was tasteless, broccoli was obviously the frozen kind you get in a bag at the grocery store, main dish drenched in factory-made sauce in attempt to cover that the protein was less than fresh. I've been holding off on doing a review of this place for my own selfish reasons.... this is one of the best restaurants to eat at in a 20 mile square radius of my house. We drive from Kalamazoo to Mattawan to eat there often. We have waited an hour and half to eat there before, I don't care I will wait, the food is that good. I don't eat meat often but when I do, this is the place I indulge at. Everything is good.. the food, the atmosphere, the customer service...EVERYTHING. Most recently I had their lemongrass steak, it was amazing!! They start you off with complimentary crunches with this amazing sauce. When you go you have to try their fried dumplings... Not only was this the absolute worst Asian food I've ever attempted to eat, but possibly the worst food I've ever eaten. The only fusion here is that of low quality food service "food" with high prices. We drove around 40 minutes to get takeout- very expensive, which we would not mind had the food even been edible. The only positive part of my experience was the customer service. I placed a takeout order over the phone around 40 minutes before closing (had seen differing hours on yelp showing they were open later than they were) and they kindly let me know they could take my order to be picked up within 15-20 minutes. I had no issues with placing the order and the woman that answered the phone was prompt and very kind. I'm pregnant and was having a serious craving for crab rangoon. I understood theirs don't have the imitation crab, which was totally fine. I was happy to order here as I'm new to the area and heard great things. My partner got the lemongrass beef dish and I got the house curry with tofu. Both were horrible! The curry lacked any flavor at all. I did change the heat level to a 2, as being pregnant I wasn't sure how spicy it would be and make me feel. However, a low spice level does not mean there shouldn't be FLAVOR. This was the worst curry I've ever had. I couldn't eat it and my partner wouldn't touch it. I ate the tasty (but unfortunately very chewy) rangoon and threw out the curry. My partner ate what they could of the lemongrass beef but didn't enjoy it. What a complete disappointment and waste. Who voted them best Asian cuisine?! It was great to find this restaurant along my travels today. The place has an "Asian bistro" feel, yet the prices are very reasonable. I had the braised pork and fried rice, and it was as good as I have had over years of traveling. They start by bringing free fried wantons and sweet sauce. I then chose the hot & sour soup which was much better than the over peppered version you get most places. the staff are very friendly and keep the place spotless. Waiter was amazing and explained our meal/ the whole menu with great detail. The pad Thai was delicious. I got the mix of protein and I do not regret it. The sauce on the dish was not over powering. This dish has a lime zest taste which adds flavor to the dish. A good combination of sweet and zest. Was not spicy but they could accommodate for those wanting a kick. The food was at best average. Nothing memorable or overly-good. My kids normally love pot stickers and they went un-touched. Sauces were too sweet. I think they over-charged me because I can't figure any way my order should have totaled $73 (2 beef & broccoli, 2 teeny cups of soup, pot sticker app and chicken fried rice). I hate their take out reservation system which is why we had not eaten there in years but we moved closer so I thought we'd try it.
