Ok this isn't the best looking spot in town, but I honestly don't feel it deserves some of the bad reviews it gets, but c'est ce que c'est. Pulling up to this spot, I was a little leery because as previously mentioned, it isn't the best looking building. Has a weathered, beaten down look about it. But my brother assured me it was worth the visit. So inside we went. Immediately my entire perception of the place was flipped on it's head! We were immediately greeted so enthusiastically and warmly it caught me off guard for a second. You would have thought we were old family friends! We were immediately seated and offered free hot tea. After bringing our menus, the server asked if we wanted soup, which was also free! I opted for the classic egg drop, which was delicious. My brother also had egg drop and my mother had wonton soup. Both agreed the soup was tasty. After bringing our orders, she checked back on us frequently but it wasn't annoying. It felt more like that aunt you don't get to see much, but always wants to make sure you get enough to eat! The food was great! Probably not in my top 3 Asian spots but good enough to eat there again. I had the Sweet & Sour Combo (pork, chicken, shrimp), My brother had the Pineapple Duck, and mom had the Seafood combo. Food came out quickly despite there being a few other tables occupied. The take out counter was also constantly busy the entire time we were there. As soon as we were done, the server immediately asked us if we wanted ice cream.. for FREE lol We declined as we were stuffed by the large portions. Prices are very good for the amount of food you get. This combined with the super friendly staff will have me visiting again in the future! TL:DR - nice little Asian food spot with insanely friendly staff & good food. Just don't mind the overall shabbiness of the building.

The food was very good, and the portions were very filling. Ordered takeout and the food was ready in the time estimated.

Meh. The spice levels were inconsistent. We asked for 2 medium dishes that were mild; and 1 mild dish that was medium spice.

Whenever I'm out of town, I ALWAYS look for a Korean restaurant, and as luck would have it, there are a few in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Yay!! Only thing wrong with my search, two of the three were closing in ten minutes and the third was advertised as Fried Chicken. I was 15 minutes away, so I gave in for the chicken, with fingers crossed that they'd have other popular dish options. Beautiful little restaurant when you arrive, very clean too. Immediately greeted and asked if to-go or dine-in, as they have a good counter for food delivery services. I of course opted to dine-in since I had about an hour til closing. Really nice looking menu, with plenty of selections beyond Fried Chicken. I didn't hesitate too long as to expedite my meal before closing. I ordered Pork Pot Stickers (Yakimandu), JapChae, and some Bulgogi. PanChan was extra, and the Kimchi along with Pickled Radish were my selection. The Yakimandu arrived first, nicely plated with half So Garlic Sauce and half Spicy Sauce. The mandi were delicious with these brushed sauces. That Spicy was no joke either, had a really good burning kick. The remainder of the meal was brought out together. The plates looked great and I couldn't wait to dig in, but if course pictures first. Both were super delicious and really hitting the spot after a long day. Very tasty meals. The staff brought me out a dessert after seeing me take all the photos, something I've never had, Deep Fried Cheesecake. Check out the photos. Definitely a different take on the dessert. Everything outside was crispy, of course, with the inside still the same. It was a texture experience. The staff were super friendly, very well knowledged on the menu items. Place was very clean, not just clean, but very clean! I think they said they've been there just over a year. I was served by Freda, and Caroline was there to assist when needed. The hostess was a real sweetheart, I'll call hers "Zaps" (because she had the TV remote at closing and I missed her real name). Young masked gentleman, again missed name, and one of the owners Kenny and his wife Lin. So good, I will be eating lunch and/or dinner there again tomorrow or Monday depending on time. I definitely want to try the Fried Chicken, probably not with the Spicy Sauce this time. LOL I do highly recommend you try this place if you haven't.

We discovered this restaurant on Yelp and loved the vibe, Asian menu and cocktail program, so on…read moreour visit to Saugatuck I popped by ahead of dinner in an attempt of securing a reservation for our large party. No one was there but the owner picked up the phone and was able to arrange a great table for us right in the bar area! Walking in I was immersed in the moody and dark space, brightened by pops of red and other Asian accents. The bar is beautiful and the bartender was hard at work cranking out cocktails. Lindsay was our server, and she was an absolute breath of fresh air, clearly passionate about her role in providing the guest experience, and frankly, she made all the difference in our experience. It all started when she saw our boys sitting at the low two top and offered them a private dining experience right next to us! They downed so much sushi, I nearly had to take out a second mortgage, but I'd happily pay it over and over to see the looks on their faces at 5 and 8 again! To say that a core memory was made that night is a massive understatement, as we have not stopped hearing about this since we returned and my son even made my mother walk him back to the restaurant the next day just to see if he could say hi! She took incredible care of the grown ups too. Helped with menu selections, addressed all requests swiftly and handled any issues with actual regard for the feedback being provided, which is becoming more and more rare in today's industry. On the food, we ordered most the apps including wings, green beans, cucumbers, shrimp, and spring rolls, and then we added the crab noodles, yellow curry and a few sushi rolls. The cucumbers and green beans stole the show, with the shrimp and crab noodles not too far behind. The sushi was decent, but I found the rice a bit gummy and didn't really get a sense of each element within them. The wings and curry were a bit bland for my liking but the wings benefitted by the additional sauce with them. The curry needed a bit more heat, fish sauce, and maybe a hit of vinegar. As someone who LOVES Asian food, this satisfied the itch after mainly eating American food for so many days, but I'd realistically rate it a 3.5 stars, especially considering the price and value. I'd happily return on my next visit to Saugatuck and suggest it to friends too. Keep crushing the service game!

Definitely one of those places you go for the full experience, not just the meal.

A few favorites: house crispy chicken, moo shu beef, egg rolls, wonton soup, and sweet and sour soup, amongst others!! :) After being seated you are greeted with a pot of yummy hot tea and "crispies" with dip, included with your meal! LOVE this perk!! Adding a soup to your entree is highly recommended, their soups are so, so good!! We love both the egg rolls and the crab meat Rangoons - it's hard to choose!! Our new go-to Chinese spot!!…read more This spot is off the beaten path but worth the extra to stop in and try!! Our pupper's groomer is in this plaza complex and so we recently took notice and are so glad we did! On our first visit I didn't think to get pictures but it was a fun visit with a great introduction to the amazingly unique foods they offer at Z&W! This restaurant offers many of the what they call "old fashioned meals" on their menu - orange chicken, sesame chicken, sweet and sour, etc... but they also offer an "Authentic Sichuan menu"! During the first visit we had no idea what to get so we asked our waiter for suggestions and guidance! We wanted to try something off of the authentic menu but had no idea what to choose! He was terrific in helping us understand what was popular and what things we might like! There is also a book on each table with pictures of the each of the menu items! AMAZING IDEA!!! We ended up ordering the Dry Chili Beef and the Kingpao Sichuan chicken. Both were delicious but VERY spicy! For me personally, next time I go with a spicy dish (it was indicated as spicy on the menu, the waiter did explain) I need to ask them to tone down the spice level for my palate! Each of the authentic menu items comes with white rice, fried rice is available for an additional cost. These items do not include a side. The star of the visit was the appetizer of crab meat rangoons! WHOA!!! They are huge and fresh and SO stinking tasty! Ours came out so hot that the fresh, crispy shell burned my lip a little bit - but in a good way! I can't remember the last time I had Chinese food that was SO fresh!! Definitely consider ordering the rangoons!! Our second visit we decided to try the old fashioned menu - we ordered the orange chicken and the General Tao's chicken. These dishes come with rice AND a side! If you choose rangoons for the side you get TWO!!! Totally my choice as I already knew from my first visit that they were next level!! My husband ordered the egg roll which was actually crazy delicious!! It's a difficult decision! You can also choose soup in place of either of those options! We added a side of hot and sour soup to share which tasted very authentic and delicious! This spot is so cute and the staff is SO very friendly with warm, welcoming service! This is definitely a great place to grab lunch or dinner and we can't wait to get back to try out more of their highly delectable menu items!
