The only reason I don't give full 5 stars are because sometimes I get a good amount of steak and sometimes I don't. Now I have been a regular at chipotle for years and years but this is the first one I was actually impressed enough to write a review about. The service is always friendly and inviting and you never feel rushed when you can't make up your mind. They do indeed have a line during peak meal times but thats because the food is worth it! Hundreds of people don't patiently wait in line for terrible or even mediocre food. Comments pertaining to the food: Although the title is "mexican grill" it's actually a very loose spin on mexican cuisine. The set up reminds me of a school cafeteria. You start at one side and make your way down the line adding things as you go. You start with how you want to eat your meal: burrito, tacos, salad, or just throw it in a bowl. Then you choose your rice (white or brown), beans (black or pinto), and your meat (chicken, carnitas, barbacoa, steak, or sofritas). Then choose from 4 salsas, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and lettuce. If you have any questions or would like to try it before just ask! I see new people asking questions all the time and they are always great and patient. While the guacamole costs extra it is excellent and if you are a fan of avocados at least treat yourself to it once. I promise you'll love it! read more

I stopped in last night (11/24/19) with my wife around 6 pm at the Albuquerque location on Menaul. There was no customers eating in the restaurant at that time and at least 5 people behind the counter. Every table top was dirty and there was a spill on the floor near us that remained there as we ate. I told the guy behind the register with the beard that the tables were dirty and he looked at me like I was stupid to even notice. He did wipe us off a table and left us setting among all the other dirty table until he did a half ass job of wiping them off onto the floor. Come on guys and gals you can do better that that!! Just moved back here from California and ate Chipotle out there all the time and around the country. If this restaurant had been the first in the chain, I'm afraid Chipotle would not exist today. I have yet to have my order made correctly, so you'll either have to accept food you don't want or wait around to have it remade. Line attendants don't pay attention to you when you order then become annoyed when you ask them to correct their mistakes. Food there is not cheap so I expect to get what I order., not what they feel like fixing for me. They have trainees on the line during rush hour which makes things even worse. I spoke to the manager on duty about my issue tonight and his response - "oh, sorry". Not even an offer to try and make things right. I guess I'm done with Chipotle in Albuquerque until they open a new store. Hopefully that one will be managed better, but I doubt it since they seed new stores with employees from existing ones. After I got them home we discovered that both items had almost no chicken - in fact they were both almost all rice! Not my usual lunch stop, but hey it's Tuesday why not tacos. But more than anything I want to say the kind gesture I witnessed by an employee at Chipotle on Louisiana and Menual. There was a man asleep on their bench outside. Instead of making a scene and asking him to leave, the kind soul made him some fresh food and allowed him to enjoy a meal. It is amazing to see people still care and allowed this man to eat, rather then embarrass him for not being able to afford a meal. The food is great as long as you are expecting a baja style burrito and not an New Mexican style burrito. I love the quick service and the fresh food that is comparable in price to fast food joints. The cons about this location is that they are extremely busy for the linch rush, but I have never had a problem ordering online to save the wait inline. The other small thing is that it's hard to hold a conversation as the music is often loud, but that is a small price to pay for good food! read more

Sorry folks. This is the Starbucks of Mexican food, if you can even call it that. The food is OK, the service is great. Good, friendly people. But I have to say overall I wasn't impressed. I got the steak burrito bowl. Kinda bland. The medium sauce overpowered any other flavors in the dish. This location is a glass concrete box that echoed every sound, so the screaming kids were heard everywhere. But not enough to drown to out the loud music. So imagine trying to have a conversation in this place. The table arrangements were more geared toward a solo experience than with someone else. So, hate me if you like, I wasn't impressed. I will start off by saying that I LOVE chipotle! We have gone to so many chipotles all over the country; this one is awful. It's dirty and looks run down even though its new. The workers are slow, unfriendly and get annoyed when you ask questions. The portions are smaller than other chipotles, yet same price. Don't even bother ordering ahead. Went to place an order online at 8 pm and it said it would be ready at 10 pm. I went in person and they were not busy. Two people ahead of me and it took 15 minutes to get through the line. Placed an order online one time before and when I went to pick it up it wasn't ready. Then I was accused of lying about the time I was quoted online for pick up. I was then told to sit and wait even though there was no one in line. What the?! After these negative experiences I will hold out for an out of town chipotle. read more

Good fresh food. I am very happy that the only preservatives they have are in the lemon and lime juice. They are pretty quick too! This is a Chipotle, like any other chipotle. Is it special in some way? Yes, it becomes impossibly busy during the lunch hour and it's difficult to return to Louisiana once you leave. Once you look past the the driving, parking, and waiting in line woes, you have your standard Chipotle experience. The staff are friendly enough and tend to move you through quickly. I like the food here, although I can't say that it's ever been exceptional. They do make a pretty good guac, which I love to douse with smoked Tabasco sauce once my burrito bowl is completed. If you're in the area and have a few moments, Chipotle is a solid choice for a meal that doesn't have to undo all of your hard work in the gym. read more

Chipotle actually really surprised me. I had eaten at a couple of them in other states several years back and don't remember being as impressed as I have been my last several visits. This one sits in the former Shoney's parking lot across from the Sheraton at Uptown. Here you'll find the burritos heaping full and sheer tasty! The bowls are equally delicious. I think that the Carne asada is the best of the meats offered for your dish. I have had the tacos and they are just ehh so so. I plan on exploring their very small menu a bit more. The fact that I have my next few visits already planned means Chipotle has turned me into a fan. read more

Highly recommend just going into the restaurant instead of using a delivery service. So you first walk through the door and your greeted with chaos. There's a long line of people and various seating arrangements which I like because you can either sit at a high counter alone, sit at a table with your family or sit outside on the patio. The menu is fairly easy to understand and since you are more than likely going to be in a line you'll have enough time to browse. You can have a bowl, a humongous burrito or a salad. You choose your vessel then you make your choice of white or brown cilantro lime rice, black or pinto beans, meat or tofu, and condiments which vary from cheese to guacamole, then comes the spice (or not) to round up your order you have chips and salsa or guacamole and your drink. Chipotle offers a nice selection of kids meals which includes fruit actual fruit not a sugary cup of some type of mystery fruit. (my granddaughter actually got a whole fresh orange). Downside of the kids menu the juice drinks come in a box and I prefer to be able to see what she's drinking. If you're looking for a nice quiet place for lunch this isn't it but if you don't mind a little chaos then come and get a great meal (or get it to go) chipotle is a nice change from the usual '"burrito" place and surprisingly quick. I've been to this chipotle since it's grand opening in 2012 - at one point in 2016 I went here daily . The staff is outstanding and always greet me with such enthusiasm ! They also show gratitude by comping my meals from time to time - I've developed a great relationship with most of the staff . I was proudly raised in Albuquerque. I went to college in Ohio for my first chipotle experience. This "Cali-mex" is the worst type of food I've had to experience. I literally threw my burrito away. Do not stop here a half an hour before closing. We arrived and ordered two burrito bowls, two fajita burritos and a quesadilla to go. They had already started putting things away. They didn't put the meat on one of the bowls, and the one that had meat was cold, freezing cold, they had nothing left and we didn't get our quesadilla. By the time we had gotten back to our hotel room they had closed and didn't answer the phone. It would have been nice to order what they did have left hot but they never told us. This Chipotle used to be a real great spot to go eat. I've been coming since it opened about 6 years ago. However, In my last few visits, through bad luck and bad timing. I have had some of the worst dining experiences. Firstly, most of the employees look either understaffed or poorly trained. The line used to go much quicker than it has in my previous experiences, and nobody ever really has a smile on their face. Secondly, like I said i've been coming here for a long time. And I didn't notice the food was progressively getting worse until I found PINK pieces of chicken in my bowl. Being that I had ordered it To Go and had work, I had no time to tell the manager. After reeling from that experience I decided to give them one more try. I came in on a friday night, and was shocked to see no line. I decided to get a steak burrito, and my wife wanted a steak quesadilla. Not only did they burn the quesadilla, but then they gave me a way thinner one to try and make up for it. At this point the line was building behind me, and I asked for a manager, but stood there looking like an idiot for 5 minutes and was not greeted by anyone. Oh and if you thought I was done, there's more. They were out of 2 sodas, which Ive been seeing quite often at this location..I should mention that the steak in my burrito was very chewy, and I couldn't finish it. This Chipotle used to always satisfy my family and I, and the customer service was great.
