Worst chipotle I've ever been to. The rice scoop he gave me didn't even cover half of my bowl. I had to ask for extra. When I choose my meat it was about two bites worth. I don't eat a lot. I'm a small women. However I had to ask for more meat which is a first for me. Ended up spending $24 for a small portion of food. For me and my boyfriend. Also the beans and rice were dry :/ I won't ever go back here. And no offense to the servers: they were probably taught to do it that way and that's not their fault at all. Please drive a little bit further to the Chipotle on Montgomery. I should of followed my intuition when noticing how nasty the food counter was. Even the ingredients were mixed into other ingredients. Pico super watery, it was an entire mess. Following very little social distancing. However, I ended up very sick with food poisoning. So very often, I receive the following criticism from well-travelled people: You've never had In-N-Out burger? Like, never? For shame! (And no, I never have.) New Mexicans are always late in the game. It's a cross we bear, due in part to our relative newbie statehood, in part to our geographic situation (anybody hear the ol' "New Mexico: is that in Mexico?" mantra, lately?) and moreover, our relatively depressed and impoverished citizenry. Huge companies and conglomerates simply don't have much interest in taking root in our sandy soil, which most likely explains why Chipotle is a somewhat newcomer on the franchise front in the 505. Upscale fast-food eats don't win over many fans out here, and Chipotle doesn't offer a dollar menu. Hence, I'm sure it's rather ridiculous that I had my first taste of what I've read to be the most popular, consumer-friendly fastish-food brand just recently, and overall I was pretty impressed. I had a salad. My friend had a burrito. I really liked the options on the menu, especially concerning the greens. But (oh, there's that "but") I was blown away at how salty the whole ordeal was, on both orders. A salty salad? Indeed. How weird is that? Blame me for asking for the works, I guess. I honestly can not believe that anyone would fork over their hard earned dollars for this sodium infused pseudo "Mexican food." I even feel better that it has Non-GMO so you don't feel bad about yourself at all. Food was ok but this was one on the messiest places I have ever eaten at. Even after telling an employee that all of your empty tables are dirty and he said he would take care of it. Soo.. Because of this whole covid 19 I have been trying to spend less time inside the restaurant, therefore I have been using mobile order for the past few weeks now. I have realized the portions you will get by placing mobile order is waaaay smaller than if you would actually walk in and make your order. I am not the only one who can see this. My friends can see it too. If you want to know it for yourself, place a mobile order and you will see it for yourself. The bowl is half full even if you add every single item on the menu. I called the manager because this issue, she was super nice and promised to supervise and fix it, should she see the problem. I will check on this in a couple days by placing mobile order. I love this place! They are amazing, hardworking and kind people. Just messing up the mobile orders. Should this issue get fixed, I promise to come back and edit my review but until then mobile orders are just waste of money. read more

Once you get past the half an hour line, I love that I can get a somewhat fresh and healthy fast food meal for lunch. I usually get the burrito bowl with brown rice. I get the vegetarian with fajita veggies and guac is free if you get the vegetarian one. I think the guac is overpriced if you get it as an add-on to the meat options. I like getting multiple salsas too like the fresh tomato and the corn so I get my fill of a lot of veggies!! I frequent Chipotle because of it's proximity to my home. This place is quick and a great alternative to greasy fast-food. I'm pretty predictable here, I always get a steak burrito and my kids get the taco kits. Having two picky kids can make dinner difficult but here everyone is happy because they get to pick their ingredients and put it together themselves. I've never seen Chipotle employees move so slow! No sense of urgency with a line around the store.

Chipotle as a whole is great, and of the three Albuquerque locations, this one is probably the most consistent for quality and cleanliness of the restaurant. Love that they have Coke Zero! Parking can be a problem at the lunch rush but the line that's sometimes out the door cycles through at a reasonable pace. One thing we've noticed over the last month in 3 or 4 visits across town is that portions seem to be much smaller than in the last year, and for that Chipotle receives 3 stars rather than 4. read more

I am biased to Chipotle in general. But there are a few things about this particular Chipotle that make it better and worse than others. Good - The service is always as quick as possible and they are always friendly and willing to help. When you ask for extra stuff such as rice or cheese, they don't complain, they hook you up and I love that. Bad - The meat is stale quite often which is surprising as they are always cooking new batches of it. I can't speak on behalf of others, but it seems like that's what I always get. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Chipotle and unless they try to kill me, I will continue to go to every Chipotle because they're just that damn good. Yep, come for the burrito, leave via a dolly. Seriously, just jive with the crew a little bit, maybe even egg them on about how they won't be able to even roll up your burrito, and trust me, they'll load the heck outta that thing. If they can't roll it up, then viola, they'll use another tortilla to make sure (free food!). I walked out with about a 2.5lb burrito, all for less than $7.50. Not too shabby, IMO. Just make sure you don't come during 11:45-1:15, or 6:00-7:30, it's a tad atrocious, but offpeak is great! read more

Have never had such awful service here before. Everybody working had attitude tonight because it was busy. The guy at the front of the line was especially frustrating tearing tortillas, slopping food all over the place and knocking stuff over as he threw a fit starting everyone's orders. I asked if there were more sofritas and veggies and without answering he scooped the juice from the bottom of the pan into my bowl and pushed it to the next server. Went there today 07/07/2016. On the front door it said they were out of romane lettuce. Okay things happen. Then the server plops a big old chunk of meat on my wife's plate. When she says something to the server the sever says, it just did not get pulled apart." Really! Then we needed a lemon for our iced tea. I've never been to a Chipotle Mexican Grill before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It kind of reminded me of the Pei Wei restaurant, in the way they add food items to your meal. I emailed Chipotle about 6 years ago asking them to open a location in ABQ and so I was very happy last December when they finally opened their first location in the 505. I would recommend the barbacoa (shredded beef/steak) in either the burrito, the tacos or the salad bowl; along with the hot salsa, black beans and white rice (the brown rice is too strong a nutty flavor). Their guacamole is very mild - really it just tastes like pureed avocados, maybe you would like that, but I want some bite of jalapeno in my guac. You will likely be very full when leaving Chipotle. read more

There is something about this place that I can't seem to get enough of... It's not the New Mexican flavors that I have grown to love in this beautiful state, but it's almost as good. Still wish they would serve red and green chile there! That would be the cherry on top! Don't be so worried about the price, as you actually get what you pay for... Fresh ingredients are really what make it what it is.They are one of the few companies that uses the local food initiative where they bring in ingredients from local farms. Chipotle gets a bad wrap ("wrap", get it?) from folks: Are they really organic/GMO free? They make more of an effort than most and have the buying power to affect change. Are they owned by McDonalds? No. Not really, and not any more. It's complicated. Google it. Why would you eat Chipotle when you're in New Mexico, the "land of the burrito"? Don't be a burrito racist. I grew up on Chipotle. Literally. Ok, so I didn't get bottle fed their spicy red salsa, but since the first restaurant opened in Denver not far from where I took music lessons as a child, I've eaten Chipotle. I was sad when I moved from Denver for school and eventually NM, and ecstatic when Chipotle came to the 'burque. There's a reason it's grown to a national (international?) chain: it's friggin good. Is it a "traditional" burrito? That depends on your tradition. Burritos don't have a single point of origin. Whatever this burrito's heritage, (I've heard "mission-style") it's a force to be reckoned with. For the price, I challenge you to get the same level of both quality AND quantity. Oh, and once you get through the line, it's wicked fast. Oh, did I mention the options? Beef, chicken, pork, barbacoa (slow-simmered beef) and more recently sofritas, which has been great since I went plant-based. With 2 kinds of beans, 2 kinds of rice, fajita veggies, 3 salsas and a bunch of other stuff, you can make a mean burrito. Or bowl if tortillas aren't your thing. Or tacos. Love, love, love Chipotle! The cilantro-lime rice is delicious! I usually get a vegetarian burrito (free guac), but all of their meats are really good. I have to say, since we came here the first time since they opened, the staff is getting the hang of making their food to-order. Service has improved, as well as quality control since our first visit. Chipotle is known for their massive burritos and the first time we came here was the 2nd day since opening. The burritos were a little on the skimpy side compared to California locations. We went there a couple of weeks ago and they made our burritos just as big as other locations. All is right at the Chipotle in ABQ! All-in-all, I'm glad that Chipotle is finally here. It's the one thing I've really missed since moving from California. We are HUGE fans of Chipotle, and look forward to eating here often. read more

I've been to Chipotle's in Kansas City Mo and it was great. This one in Albuquerque though has really bad cooks. I ordered a steak burrito, and the steak was burned it didn't taste right.
