I usually don't write reviews and I don't like bashing places, but this experience really annoyed me. I came in about an hour before closing because I was starving and specifically craving Chipotle. When I got to the line, the employee told me there was no rice. Then they looked over at the cook in the back, who looked back like, yeah no, I'm not making any more. For a company this big to not have rice an hour before closing is honestly ridiculous. What made it worse wasn't just the lack of rice it was the inconvenience and the way it was handled. I wouldn't have even cared that much if it hadn't meant I now had to leave, find another place to eat, and wait even longer while already hungry. The whole interaction felt dismissive and awkward, and one of the workers kept looking at me in a way that made the situation uncomfortable. After leaving, it hit me that if I had placed an online order, I probably wouldn't have been told any of this ahead of time. That just added to the frustration. New partnership I'm assuming Steak is really good, despite it being the same price as chicken and looking dry. It actually isn't at all The server is fairly generous with portions. So much so that he put so much beans in my crispy taco that it broke and he needed to start making another one so nice Pro tip: if you want double meat, wait till they put one scoop in first. Then say "actually, can you make that double meat?" This way you get two full scoops instead of "one overfilled scoop" of meat. Ordered myself a double steak bowl with fajitas and a bunch of other irrelevant stuff. While eating, I found a piece of green pepper from the fajitas with the tag still on it. The steak was full of connective tissue and super chewy - probably had to spit out half of my bowl. Look, I'm not expecting a Michelin star restaurant experience, but for $14 I'd at least expect not to eat paper and chew on a piece of meat for half an hour. I was ordering a bowl and I asked the first girl please put some more rice that portion is just unacceptable. I told her whatever it's fine and she laughed with the first girl like they were just being mean girls. This is not customer service. I picked up an order this evening to see that both staff members had their masks completely pulled off their mouths and noses and were talking loudly to customers over the food they were serving. Not wearing a mask is literally against state law right now with COVID (as seen by numerous signs they themselves had posted). To the employees working the lunch hour rush on Labor Day 2017- thank you. Listen, I know it sucks working hourly (been there too) and I appreciated your happy disposition and excellent customer service. Especially having to work on a holiday. We went in for lunch and ordered some tacos (they were good). However, I am most impressed with the tight ship they were running. There were people in the back of the kitchen making the food. There were employees on the line preparing orders, employees checking in (and cleaning) the soft drinks/ salsa table, and I watched two employees come out and clean the tables/pick up trash while I was eating. I live nearby but have a location a few blocks away so today was my first experience here. Even though they were slammed the food was hot, fresh, and delicious with strong portion size. This review is for this particular location ONLY. I happen to love Chipotle and often eat at the one near my office. But I have to say this particular Chipotle was just "meh." It's a relatively new location in Bucktown -- I almost passed it because they are located in one of those strip malls down Elston. The place is very clean and smaller than other Chipotle's I've frequented. What really irked me was their service was S-L-O-W. Granted it was Sunday, and it was after lunch so not so busy. But when I came in there were four people waiting in front of me and only two preparers (one for burrito, beans, and meat the other for toppings). I ordered my usual steak burrito bol. This tasted just fine but a little stingy on the toppings -- lettuce is very cheap and filling and yet they seemed to ration it out rather frugally! Would I stop eating at Chipotle? Of course not. But would I go to this particular Chipotle? Probably not unless it was for a free coupon at this location only. read more

I only been to Chipotle a few times in my life. Place was nice, workers were friendly, but when you ask for toppings sometimes you get very little, and when you ask for more, its a 1.50 for extra toppings and they give it to you as a side. Parking lot is private but can get full very fast, and there is street parking. A lot of other places to eat in this lot too so I don't remember if this place has outdoor sitting or not. read more

I ordered Chicken Burrito Bowl, sometime with and sometime without rice. The taste and portion aren't consistent. But I'm reviewing the portion today. Today and several other times the portion came out like this pic, about 1/2 of the bowl. I talked to the manager. She said I have to asked for extra. I get what she was trying to say but 1) there's no extra option when you order through the 3rd party app 2) it should be a common sense for the restaurant staff to either add more veggies or something to fill the bowl and don't have to wait for customer to ask. And how sad that you decided to open right at the beginning of a new year, when resolutions to lose weight are rife. We decided to come in to visit you on your opening day to get a free burrito. You are kind of small inside (definitely not as big as the location on Clybourn) but that's OK! Your food is still as delicious as ever and on your very first day it was free!
