All in all, this is a good Chipotle Mexican Grill location and is just off of Interstate 75 and is by the outlets. It was pretty busy, but the service was friendly and overall it was a positive experience. I went with a burrito bowl and since it was so busy, I ate in my car. I went in for a steak salad, I was there about 7pm and they close at 10pm, here are my observations.... 1) they were about out of salad, he had to scrape from the bottom of the bowl to get some lettuce. 2) they were out of fajita veggies, nobody seemed interested in checking to see if more were coming. 3) there was very little steak left, again he had to scrape the bottom of the pan to get me a skimpy serving. 4) the guacamole was brown, I got a small dollop on top of my salad then he took the rest of the bowl away because it looked bad. 5) of the little bit of steak I did get I couldn't eat most of it because it was fat/gristle. 6) I got a big chunk of avocado skin 7) the kid in front of me was obviously friends with half of the kids working there as most of them waved/acknowledged him. He got double chicken AND double steak (leaving little for anyone else) and he was only charged $9.40. I got charged $2.70 extra for my little dollop of brown guacamole. 8) they were out of salad dressing, a fact nobody bothered to tell me until after I paid for a salad Overall, very disappointing, they shouldn't be out of so many items with 3 hours to go. My wife & I went here for dinner Wednesday afternoon and we will never go back. The work area behind the counter was dirty and messy to look at. We ordered chips & salsa with our meal and asked for extra salsa. We were then told that this wasn't allowed. They finally gave us 2 small cups. Then we found that the chips were stale. They did give us another bag that was somewhat better. While we ate, we noticed that the 2 garbage cans were over full and mentioned this to 2 different workers. I went to Chipotle on Wednesday and Thursday of this week to order a Burrito for dinner. I had the best experienced. I was there on Thursday 8/28 around 5:45. The people behind the counter, were pleasant and polite and I was greeted with a smile. They were wonderful. I also went there on Friday, 8/29 around 3:50 and had the same experience. The food was really good. The cilantro rice was so delicious with the shredded pork, it really complimented eachother. The guacamole and everything else was fresh and tasty. Seen the bad reviews before going but went to make our own opinion of the place, since chipotle is usually pretty good. It's a small parking lot but sufficient for the smaller than usual dining areas. The food wasn't horrible but definitely not up to standards we've had at other chipotle locations in other states. What was very disappointing was to see how filthy the restaurant was. Not a single clean table anywhere, trash overflowing inside and out, soda machine out of most options, juice dispensers looked sketchy and not appealing to even try them. It looked like they had plenty of people working behind the counter but not a single person was out cleaning the dining area the entire time we were there. We cleaned our own table off to sit down and eat. The cleanliness is the biggest reason for the low rating. Definitely do not recommend going to this location until they can learn to keep it clean. When I walk in the first thing I notice is the complete filth on all the dining tables. Great, cause I am dining in. Waited to see if the cashier just standing around would clean the dining area but that never happened. Plenty of missed opportunities. She finally did go out and clean after I was halfway through my meal. The food bar was even pretty messy I mean are they not training employees to clean their workspace in between customers? They really skimp on portions. I ordered a veggie bowl and kept having to tell her to add more beans and rice since that is the bulk of the whole meal. My grandma's bowl was so slim. Chipotle used to be so cheap and now it's expensive and they hardly give you any food. Back in the day a bowl used to give me three meals. Now I'm lucky if it gives me two. I asked for water cups, and when I went to the back to get water, the whole soda fountain was down and when I press the water button, carbonated water came out, so I just help myself too juice out of the fountains next to the sodas. Disappointing here in Ellenton..Chipotle was a 10 back in California...and a popular, trendy "go to" place on the week end. While this location is close to home, the parking is confusing and limited; the door does't make sense for the line...seating is incomfortable and uninviting for dining in. Outside seating is limited and more often than not, hotter than blazes, (mostly sun). Inside, the tables needed cleaning..alwzys..it was a mess...and soooo loud! With most of the noise coming from the open kitchen. There were 3 ppl working around 11-ish...when more came in to work after noon, nothing changed. Spot checking.and refilling on the floor appreared non-existant. They were out of diet coke the entire time we sat there...and out of TP for the ladies bathroom...Okay, thats asthetics...The food: I bought into the new advertisement, for the carne asada. ( i usually order carnitas ) - not worth the hype... A carne asada bowl, a diet coke (one size) and a side bag of chips (the bag has shrunk) w/ pico de gallo was nearly $18.00!!! Say what? BEYOND RUDE. The workers here totally do not want to be at work, they are rude, slow, confrontational and dismissive. So we gave it a try, we ordered a veggie salad meal and a regular chicken bowl meal. The food was not that great, it was too spicy for me. She said hers was just okay. Neither of us finished our orders, nor did we take the leftovers with us. The outside dining area was not clean, and we wiped our own table down before sitting to eat. Garbage. I ordered one burrito bowl, set the time for pick up so it would be fresh, hot there a few mins before my pickup time. I sat at the window for 15 mins with no one coming to the window. I love chipotle, but the service here is terrible. The line is always backed up when it gets even slightly busy. The workers always skim on food when it comes to making a burrito. If you can't wrap a full burrito then get someone to help. Don't give me a half a scoop of rice and meat. The heck?? When I ask for more meat I get the age ole "it's going to be extra." Are you serious right now?. Also the attitude of some of the workers is slight but noticeable. You can tell they dread working there. On another note, I just received an online order from them for my co worker and I. My burrito became a bowl and his bowl was a burrito. Also my stead was changed to chicken and they put beans in when I requested no beans. My co worker didn't even get meat it's just beans, rice and cheese. I was wondering why the parking lot was so empty during peak time. The ABSOLUTE WORST chipotle in the area. Brand new, fully staffed, but just awfully ran. A large pan of fully cooked chicken breast sitting in the kitchen, but nobody is chopping it up, then telling customers you have no chicken. The prices are so high so you're all getting paid to stand around? It's the only place to eat in Parrish, so you can make so much money if it wasn't managed so poorly. Always good, fresh food at most Chipotle restaurants I've visited. What makes this location different is the staff behind the counter. Great food. Outstanding staff with true smiles on their faces.
