Got there at 12:30 order was not ready. That's ok, I understand that sometimes it takes a bit longer. Waited another 15 minutes, order still not out. Asked the cashier and she said it will be ready very soon. Finally got my food after another 15 minute wait, at 1:00pm. Was late to my afternoon meeting because of this. I don't know if having the motor skills of a 3 year old is a requirement to work here but it sure seems like it. Today I ordered the Carne Asada bowl and was very disappointed that they had no peppers and onions!!! Came right when they opened at 10:30 but they were still cutting up the steak and putting in serving utensils. Other than the minor delay, I didn't have any problems. The staff were young, friendly, and accommodating (I wanted my beans on the side and an extra serving of corn salsa). So, he's my ex-boyfriend and I still have a thing for him. SOOOOOO WHAT???? A little trick he taught me: after they shove in the beans, rice, and meat, basically ask for "extra" everything. As in, "Oh, I know you just put cheese on it, but can I have a little extra?" or, "Gee, that looked like a nice helping of corn, but would you mind putting in a little extra?" I generally like Chipotle, but I'm not a fan of this location. The lines here can be out the door at times, so when we came on a Fri afternoon we were pleasantly surprised there was no line. I ordered my typical veggie bowl. Normally the server gives a heaping serving of each item, but today the spoonful for each item wasn't even full. My veggie bowl looked pretty sad. I usually like Chipotle chips. They can be a bit salty at times, but they have a hint of lime which I like. The chips we ordered today were a bit stale and tasted like grocery store chips. Not horrible, but also not what I have been used to or what I was expecting. I wasn't sure if it was just our bag, but when we exchanged it, the new bag was just the same. I did an online order here and came a few minutes after the promised "ready by" time. There was no one in the restaurant and my food wasn't ready at all. Then they rushed my order and forgot to put something in because they were rushing. This was the only eatery that I was really craving while waiting for a movie. Chris C. went to get a chicken burrito as I waited in line. He didn't return until 20 mins later. Yesterday my TA went a little nutty when a student had the audacity to say she didn't like Mexican food and especially Chipotle. First she made that "ohhhh" sound that Japanese and Korean women love to make when they're surprised at something. She continued: "Are you serious? How could you not like Mexican? What's wrong with Chipotle?? Wow, that's crazy." Eh well judging by these reviews plenty of people find there is something wrong with Chipotle. That being said, I honestly like this place. I've only had the burritos. Not sure why anyone would get tacos here. I like the burritos because they have beans and rice in them and aren't full of grease, unlike authentic places down here in San Diego. Let me rephrase that: Chipotle is better at hiding the grease and fat than the other taquerias. Surprised to hear about the poor service comments. Can't recall the workers ever being rude, and yesterday they were smiling and relatively nice. Then again, it was around 4 pm and the place was rather dead. Overall, it is a good chain restaurant. Food is good, as usual, but the service at this particular location leaves something to be desired. When we were going thru the line and ordering out bowls, it seemed like the server didn't want to be there, and they were trained to be extremely stingy on the serving sizes. We had to ask for more rice, as the serving was as if we weren't paying for it, then again with the beans, just a frown by the server and then on to the meat, the server was skimpy and then we asked for more chicken, the next person in the line noticed and she actually put another 1/2 spoon full. She noticed serving size and asked if we needed anything else, we were going to order another bowl, but decided to pass. We have been to many chipotle locations, it seems this one takes the cake on being stingy, and many of the servers are just there against their will. One of my fave places to get healthy, fresh Mexican food! A no-frill, no nonsense kinda place to fulfill your burrito or bowl or taco needs! Pretty standard for a Chipotle - and always packed with hungry UCSD students. For those Chipotle-virgins out there, you choose from burritos, tacos or a salad, then can select combinations of beans, rices, meats, salsas and other accoutrements at your desire. For being super busy, the place is pretty efficient in terms of turning out the grub. The space is open with tons of seating; there's a central area with various Tabasco flavors (go for the green sauce - it really brings the flavor out!) Food is ok - I've been noticing that this location gets saltier and saltier every time I go. The bowls also seem to have gotten smaller, and they tend to skimp on the toppings and salad. You'll frequently have to ask for more to get them to fill your bowl. You'd never see shenanigans like that at somewhere like Pita Guys (their offerings are so big for the same price, and I can make 2 meals out of it!). They also tend to nickel and dime for everything. $2.10 for guacamole? (10 cents, really?) Bad, Very bad, not good, opposite of good, bad. I would only say that I enjoyed this chipotle if it was opposite day. Sub par at best. Two of our orders were completely wrong, they added ingredients that we didn't want. Another order was missing rice, which was the base ingredient. If you're a UCSD student, this is probably a place to grab some food if you have 10 bucks laying around after you buy your expensive books. Lunch time gets really crowded with all the students and everyone else that frequents this location for their lunch break. Portions went from really good to really skimpy as of late. And this isn't from a one-time experience. I still have a fake Mexican food craving and Chipotle is the closest and fastest for that. Each time, I feel like they barely scoop any rice into my bowl. They skimp out on the meat. Then they add a few pieces of lettuce. Anytime you want "extra" of something, they write on your lid so they can charge you every little dollar. Parking here is ridiculous. Whoever designed that Ralph's parking lot needs to re-evaluate their design degree. So good luck finding parking if you want Chipotle. Watch out for pedestrians and cars as well. read more

Rude staff, no vegetables and looks like a food fight happened just before I walked in

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Manager is terrible and very rude! I ordered catering 2 days prior to pickup. I was the first one in the restaurant and someone said it would be ready in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I went back to ask what was going on and they said 5 more minutes. 30 minutes later and past my scheduled time I checked again and they said it was ready. The lady came out and asked me my name 5x and said they had another person with my name. 45 minutes later and I asked again (prior to that the lady "helping me" was trying to avoid contact) she said they gave someone else my food). I asked to speak to a manager and he was in the back when I heard him laughing. He came out and told me he gave it to a door dash guy who confirmed it was the correct order (the door dash guy was there after I asked for my food!! How did he get his food first??). He told me there was nothing they could do to make this right and they were remaking it. Over an hour later the door dash guy brought the food back and tue manager pointed at the food and rudely said "there's your food" and tried walking away. I told him I will not be taking the food since it had been in this guys car and most likely touched by the people who got the wrong order. He said "okay, whatever ma'am." The door dash guy then walked out with less food so it wasn't even a catering order that the other person ordered!! An hour and a half later a worker that just started his shift brought out our food. The manager didn't even feel the need to bring it out himself and apologize. Worst experience ever and corporate has not been responsive. I will never order chipotle catering again and most likely will never eat chipotle again. Shame on you chipotle! read more

I love Chipotle because it's a healthier alternative to the regular mexican fast food places. I like to forgo the rice in my Barbacoa burrito to lessen its carb content and the result is still delicious! I must agree with some of the other Yelp reviewers, when saying this location skimps on their meat though. For that reason only, I had to lower my rating from a 4-star to a 3-star. A couple of years ago, their burritos were so loaded that I couldn't finish it at lunch, so I'd take the rest home for dinner and THAT still filled me up. read more

I love chipotle. I have never had a bad experience at one and I hope I never do because I just love it here so much. For this trip it was on Halloween... gotta get those $3.00 Booritos! We were dressed up and headed that way! We got really lucky because it seemed as if there was a slight break in the crowds when we got there as the line only took about 5 minutes... so average for chipotle. We got our order and everything was perfect. The food was amazing as usual and the price couldn't be beat! The only reason why I won't give 5 stars is because you could tell the staff was frazzled and having a tough time keeping up. Maybe I am being harsh because it was basically a black Friday crowd of wild people but this is chipotle and they are always busy and you have to be able to handle everything and if you can't handle it you have to know enough to say hey, I can't be nice right now so give me five minutes away and then I will come back with a smile on my face.
