I am originally from Southern California, meaning I understand and enjoy authentic tasting Mexican food. Sadly, the closest thing I have found in lexington, is Chipotle. I am not complaining, however, because Chipotle is a little taste of home. It is conveniently located for students at both Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky. There is not a lot of parking available, which can be annoying, but it is definitely within walking distance from both universities. In regards to food quality, Chipotle always has the freshest ingredient and their meats are always lean, prepared to order, and tastes like the high quality meat one would get from a sit down restaruant. Their Carne Asada and chicken is always freshly grilled and it is quality you can taste. My favorite however, is their Carnitas. It is perfectly prepared, juicy and full of flavor. This Chipotle is always busy which would make it easy for the servers to get lackadaisical on the serving line. However, it is quite the contrary. I have never been to this chipotle when there wasn't a line out the door, and every time the servers greet you with a smile, the food counters are clean, and the food is freshly prepared. This is not something I could say for other Chipotles in the Lexington area. For example, the one on Richmond Road is dirty and does not smell clean. This Chipotle is by far the cleanest I have been in and it tastes the way fresh, authentic Mexican food should. Also, the staff is very customer orientated and does not roll their eyes at you if you ask for a complicated order. Some students prefer to go to other Mexican restaurants of this type near campus, however I will always go to this Chipotle. The food tastes fresher than restaurants like Qdoba, it is always hot and made to order, and it is clean. Chipotle has mastered the concept of clean, fresh, and delicious. I do not think there is more you can ask of for a Mexican restaurant, and much less a fast food Mexican restaruant. Even though they are fast food, they hold their employees and chefs to the same standard that they would have at a fine dining restaruant. read more

One of the worst Chipotle locations I have ever been to. The portions are so far cut back they are literally ripping you off. Skip this place and head next door to Blaze instead. I went in near closing, and while I understand that's a little difficult for them it's because I had nowhere else to go to get food. I just wanted a burrito and they had no ingredients and they were very rude letting me know that there weren't ingredients and asked me multiple times if I still wanted to order because they didn't want to make more. I told him I still wanted to order. I did she suggested getting a quesadilla because they had no rice or beans at 9:48 and so I followed her direction and I got a quesadilla and then she charged me for two. It's pretty dumb that I have to pay double the cost of a burrito because they're not willing to make more ingredients... Super disrespectful and the way she explained it to me was she can't do anything about it because she's on camera... Talk about customer service. The whole experience was bad. Don't go to this location. The employees were absolutely rude and lazy. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. read more

They switch up their COVID policy every other day it seems like. I show up sometimes and can go right in and order like normal and other times have to stand outside and order my food from my phone. If your near campus, it might be worth the extra couple minutes to drive to a different location. I leave here unsatisfied about half the time and will no longer be returning. Covid nightmare. C'mon, guys, get it together. No posted signs telling customers to order on the app. Confusion in the long line outside. Very long wait times (my food was cold by the time I got it). Any weekday I would rate this a 5 star. I was here on a Saturday around 2 and had to wait 15 min to get served. Food is great but weekend staff was slow. Don't park in the parking lot as you will be towed. read more

DON'T PARK IN MCDONALD'S PARKING LOT!!!! My coworker and I stopped by Chipotle during the week for a quick lunch. He wanted Chipotle and I wanted McD's Came out and my company vehicle was gone. Called Metro towing who is on the sign. Stated that they have "security" at the parking lot and I was illegally parked. I was also parked next to 2 Lexington Police cars which both police officers where eating in Chipotle!!!! Worst part of it was that I was actually over at McD's getting food but the tow company didn't care. read more

Awesome place for lunch. Very fast Service, clean and kid friendly. My son always enjoys the cheese quesadillas, rice and grapes and You cannot go wrong with the chicken hardshell tacos and guacamole. We have always had a good experience. We Will be back again! read more

Been going to various chipotles for years and was told I couldn't get extra rice because their rice cooker was broken. This was a blatant lie as I saw the rice being made in the back. I've been a loyal chipotle customer for over 7 years and this is hands down the worst location I've ever been to and it's really unfortunate that it happens to be the one closest to where I live. They are blatantly stingy about their portions and you have to pay for extra meat just to get the amount of meat you'd normally get at any other chipotle location. Last time I went they refused to give me a little bit more rice, I asked for just a little bit of beans and it was as if they blatantly loaded my bowl up with a ton of beans. So glad we stopped here- driving from Ohio to Georgia and wanting a quick, good for you, yummy meal. Prices are decent - 2 burritos,1 drink, and one kids meal ran about $20 for a lot of food. Huge burritos! 2.5 yr old loved getting his own plate and drink- organic milk! Staff was friendly and helpful, clean, bathrooms clean. No changing table in ladies room though - FYI. I had to come on here to voice my opinion because I was so disappointed in chipotles burrito. First it was way overstuffed. I got the basic rice beans meat sour cream and guac. It had guacamole coming out of every corner. My first instinct was to ask for a bowl and grab a fork after I saw how goopy and gross it looked. I wished I had taken a picture. I tried eating it with the fork but I wanted the burrito experience so I picked it up and it immediately fell to the side and all ingredients poured out. I went up and asked for another to be made but with half the amount of ingredients. Success! Or so i thought. I took a few bites but it was tasteless and just a mouthful of sour cream. . once again the burrito opened up and what little I had in there spilled out and I was left with a pile of tasteless crap on the table and slimy fingers. I wanted a refund as you could imagine but the manager was unavailable. The only manager there was new and on her first day wasnt even in the system so I had to leave my information and will be going to speak with manager tomorrow. So I left hungry.. Out ten dollars and couldn't eat on my lunch break. Never will I eat a chipotle burrito again. Just gross.. read more

Staff was very slow and uncontrollably kept asking/repeating : "you want queso" and "why not" Settled with white rice,chicken (no extra) ,pico ,sour cream and cheese. When asked about tortilla on the side they asked me if i wanted it folded or rolled.I went for something daring and had it made into shape of an airplane. Rice was very rich and color spot on white,chicken looked good and it felt very lively in my mouth. Will be back as soon as they say that i is safe to eat there. read more

Not the best Chipotle experience. I was stiffed pretty bad on the guac and their soda machine was out, which they informed me of pretty rudely when I asked for a drink. Parking seemed to be a bit of a challenge, but a member of our group went to the McDonald's next door so we used their parking. if you're a vegetarian, you can eat the cheese here. it's free of animal derived rennet and the corn salsa is quite tasty! i love their rice. i love that they use raw sugar packets that contain no bone char. did you know sugar is processed with bone char? now you do. read more

I absolutely love Chipotle! This is by far the best burrito joint in town. Moe's has good queso and free chips, but the ingredients are a much higher quality from Chipotle. The barbacoa is nice and tender. read more
